People rarely talk about the F1 Espace in GT2, not as fast as the Escudo but still a killer.

I mean, one is a F1 fan done for promotional material and the other is a pro-class hill climb machine.
for me personally, the Espace is not really an easy car to drive

All those cars in GRAN TURISMO 2 are so memorable.
This is so hilarious because in GT2 it was sooooo much wheelspin with the HKS Drag cars it's ridiculous!!... In reality we know the HKS drag vehicles will win any drag race those were 7 second cars in real life.. I even own the 1999 import tuner magazine since then. I believe the 180sx netted a 6.82
Indeed the wheelspin is so obnoxious in GT2. Even if you launch in 4th gear!
they planned to have drag race mode but didnt have time to implement it. HKS Drag cars supposed to have drag radials and it was not coded in the final game. hence the wheel spin lol

The 180SX was from the drag cars in the game the badest. Because of RWD THE GTR was way better. In real Life there are all going like hell and the decals of These cars has somthing that remember me to my Childhood 4 ever because of this game
In reality is supposed that throttle gets partialized to avoid spin, maybe TCS could be free to buy in GT2, considering how much used to play it with joypad, or maybe it was an incentive to buy a Dualshock joystick and use the sticks to play
Daisin Silvia! It's not the most powerful, but very stable and has good grip & handling.
Should have included it also! Maybe i'll do a Part 2 in the future!
The Daishin was the first race car I won back then, I remember using it to win many events

The TVR Cerbera was a killer. Difficult to drive but fast as hell. But the FTO and GTO specials were my favorites for the most tracks.
Yes the FTO LM race car you got from the A licence all gold was a beast had it in black dam fine looking car too with its wide body one the best over all cars in the game
GT One, R390 Road Car, Escudo, GT40 LM, all superb cars in that game.
TRD 3000 GT was and is my all time favorite car....
I'm really sad that it never came back to any part of GT.

Escudu pikes peak was by far the best car for top speed but I loved the HKS 180sx
It was even great in corners. Basically a cheat code car lol. Once you have 2 mill credits you've beaten the game.
3000GTs were always among my favorites in a straight line. RX7 LM was great on a track. But my favorite overall TRACK car, the Lotus Elise LM or Honda Del Sol LM. Those 2 were always my top cars on certain tracks like RR Valley. Nobody in my circle could beat my times on RR Valley with either of those 2 cars. But for that track, I believe the Lotus was the quicker of the 2. Love to see them included somewhere. The Dodge Concept Car LM was also particularly nasty on a track. Cheers!!!

300zx GTS was sexy as hell and such a fun drive
you got my attetion, really cool video, i loved using the Escudo, it was one of my favorites, but the Gt-One Road Version after tuning was just the best, no car compared to it for me, it was my meta, get enough money, buy it, tune it, win every single race. Maybe i will play GT2 after this video, but beforehand, where did you find a GT2 version that was not in mp/h? i've been searching all around but only find the american version of the game.

I found this version in Emuparadise but it has been years now so i don't know if you can find it now.

That car may be good but escudo on max downforce and tuned steering is basically an f1. Tested them (both tuned) and escudo on average, was 6 seconds faster than the toyota gt1 road car. Hecc even toyota gt1 race car fully tuned and max downforce can beat the toyota gt1 road car

@@Drakanify haha that is fine. Everyone has a favourite car. Personally tho, i like underrated cars like lister storm v12 (cuz v12) and atlantique 400gt (i call it a french f40). May not be the best cars, but veryyyy fun to drive drive.
I feel like the RX-7 LM Edition as well as the Pennzoil GT-R could have been faster judging from the speed if you shifted up earlier.

The DTM cars were always quick off the line. I remember the Vauxhall/Opel Calibra was so fast off the line it almost beat the Escudo to the 400m mark.
The ten best 1km cars in my own endgame garage in order from slowest to fastest are the Castrol Supra GT, the Celica Rally Car '99 (after a gearing adjustment I think), The 300ZX GTS, the Cerbera LM Edition, the GT-ONE Race Car '99, the FTO LM Edition, the Zexel Skyline GT, the Calsonic GT-R, the Unisia GT-R and the Cultus Pikes Peak (0:16.757). I never use the Escudo Pikes Peak, it's a pay2win car in my eyes, but I needed at least the Cultus to beat the Escudo in this playthrough, so far it's the only car I've ever been able to beat the Escudo with besides the Escudo itself. Has anyone reading this ever beaten the Escudo with something other than the Escudo or Cultus? I have to admit rally is probably my weakest skill in GT2.
Indeed the Escudo is almost like a cheat car but i fell in love with it ever since i first played Gran Turismo. That raw speed was way too intoxicating for me as a child. Thanks for your comment!

Wow! Nice video.... so much memories! I still play GT2 and GT4 on PS1 and PS2 emulators to this day! I want to share a thing with you that i think no one ever noticed (not even popular youtubers that make videos about GT2). It has nothing to do with this video, but i think it's very important because someone inside Polyphony Digital made it but it never went recognized: check out race modification to the Nissan Stagea 260RS.... the livery is a tribute to Volvo 850 BTCC racer! (Volvo never allowed their cars into GT2) I also made a pic of it many time ago, when i realized that, but i don't know if i can put a link in the message, so to avoid problems, i'm going to link the pic in a message below this. Keep up the good work! 💪

That Escudo is really a monster.
RUF CTR2 and Turbo R are absolute beasts. Try them Out. 656hp is all it takes
And FTO GPX. FF car that handles like FR. Has good sporty sound also!

have you done the same in GT4? i found the best/fastest car for 1K (and for 400m) be Lancia Delta S4 (with NOs)
i did 400 m like in 7,1 seconds or something like that (under 8 seconds anyways) with the S4, top speed around 400 Km/h (i think it was 380+)
No i haven't but i might do it someday!

The special Nissans and 300z Lm did well, some mazda Evo 5 also well for their Hp power. The 3000 were slow/heavy. Suzuki is to good.
The only thing that saved the 3000GT is the 4 wheel drive. Yeah the Suzuki is on another level!

GT-One Road car is a pretty fast 1km car, tune it to the max and it'll get close to the HKS cars but with way better handling.

The fastest car I had was a twin turbo gto that thing maxed is a ripper but that could have been gt1 I can't remember.

Love the verity of vehicles. A bit of suspension and gear ratios tuning and you could make the vehicles faster. A few can be launched in 2nd gear as well. Awesome trip down memory lane 👍 👌

You can launch them even faster with manual gear.
I use manual transmission but back in that video i didn't fully tune the gear ratios!

HKS R33 and HKS 180SX can achieve better results if start with 2nd or 3rd gear. Anyway Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak is the best!
Thanks for commenting! I tried launching with 2nd and 3rd gear many times when i was testing the cars and tweaking the setups but they both wheelspin like crazy no matter what. And yeah that Suzuki is a beast! Best car in the game!
