They actually are, blue crabs and stone crabs are the only ones with limits here

I'm from Texas and am aware of the crab regs. Blue crabs harvested for consumption need to be 5" across from spine to spine. Ain't no way in hell that first crab you grab from the pot is 5" across. And it's a female to boot.
