Hey everyone! I finally decided to make a tutorial showing you guys how I personally dome my resin pieces. In the video, I go into depth with the main way that I dome my resin pieces with the liquid latex hack and I also give an alternative to those that are allergic latex. I hope this video was easy to follow along and if you have any questions, leave the down below and I will try to answer them. Don't forget to Subscribe, Comment, Like and Share this video.

Soak those brushes in alcohol and you can reuse them for doming. That's what I do ☺️☺️
Omg really??!! I have never heard of that, I will def try it out. Thank you so much for the tip!!💕
Sweet Art Crafts you're welcome love! 🥰
Lil tip, Dont throw away the brushes, just leave them for 30 min or more if hardened in acetone and it comes out fresh, as new.
Thank you!! 💖
I love your kawaii trap intro! 🔮 it’s magical.
Awww thank you!!!
I have some helpful information on the backs! If you're allergic to latex or simply don't want to work with it, you can use packing tape if you smooth it out completely and leave a tab to pull off!
Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay on me uploading my doming video, it took me forever to film and edit this video. Doming takes a while and patience and is probably the part about resin that I am not really fond of. Also sorry for the weird audio, I am still trying to get the hang of things, hopefully it will be better in my next video. This is a long video so I will leave time stamps for the methods that were used if you do not feel like watching the whole thing. 💕
*Please note when selling charms using the liquid latex method, to let customers know that it was used**

Darling please don't apologise..doming (with 2 part resin) takes AGES. We can wait!!!! I would love to see a tutorial on doming with UV resin , just because I find it so tricky to get a nice, FLUSH finish... I often get spaces in mine and have to redome them. Thank you!
@@AyeshaShaSha Yes the spacing can be so annoying. I've had 1 piece that I redomed 3 times and it still has the spacing :(
@@SweetArtCrafts it's not just me then!! It can be soooooo frustrating!
@@AyeshaShaSha Honestly for the longest I thought it was just me doing something wrong and everyone else on IG just had the perfect technique until some people showed their mess up pieces and I was like oh okay so it's no just me then lol
@@SweetArtCrafts that's the thing we never see everyone's mess ups lol! I actually just made a pair of shoes with resin pieces, one of which I had to make 8 times!! But it was worth it!!! I'd love to show you, would you like to see?
Now if only I had a fix for an uneven table on an uneven floor lol My worst enemy!! Great video!
I feel you on that, that's why I mostly have switched to doming upstairs now because its more even. And thank you! 💕
Put a bubble level on top of the table and then strategically prop up the legs of the table with pieces of newspaper until it's level enough :D That's worked for me in the past!
@@fnjosk Great idea!! I always forget that iPhone's also have a level app.
@@SweetArtCrafts this so helpful lol I need to know this is domeing 100%mandatory..?
sorry for my english. Use Mod podge in the back, apply two layers, so you can avoid that job of doming twice. when the resin is cured you just remove the layer of mod podge
Do you use water to remove the Mod Podge?
@@suegore5929 no, just remove with you nails like a sticker
Here to say, I love the phrase you put on the crystall ball 😂
Tried your method yesterday. LOVE IT. Thank you
You have literally changed my life with them liquid latex tip. Thank you!
OMG i never thought of using latex! I have so much of it from my nails too, thank you for the tip!
Omg😉Thank you so much..! Now i know what I was doing wrong. But seeing this video make me feel so much joy & not give up..!!☺️✨🧚🏻♀️💕💜🌸
They look awesome at the end 👍
This video was so informative and helpful! Thank you for making it!
SO PRETTY
Yesss thank you for this video! 💖
Nice...
This is verty informative!!
I use various grain nail files and buffers to smooth, file is easier for me! Omg I love ❤️ the rice idea, thank you!
it s looks so pretty 💖
Those pieces are so pretty tho😍 The liquid latex is an awesome idea. Congrats on 1K subs👊🏼 I hope I can buy a mold from you in the near future 👍🏼
I can't wait to do my first resin project; I'm watching tutorial videos such as yours as if I'm doing research projects.
So awesome, sanding is seriously my least favorite part of resin too. I try my hardest to avoid it. It's so cool when you made this video you said I was so shocked I got up to 1k subscribers now you are on your way to 7k. How awesome, I love your videos you explain everything so well. Thank you 💖
I got an electric rotary took with sanding bits and its been easier now. But I still hate sanding lol. And thank you!!!
@@SweetArtCrafts ❤❤❤
Wow! You are so incredibly talented!! I don’t even resin but was suggested your video from a watercolor tutorial - you make me want to try it! Subscribed!
So nice and pretty cool 😎 I'm now a fan of your beautiful work. I fell I am learning alot.. thank you for your videos. Lisa
Liquid latex idea is genius, thanks
Elmer's school glue on the backs works pretty well too, and way less expensive!
Great Video. You explain it very well 🤗🤗🤗
Wow🤩🧚🏻♀️✨Thanks for showing us..! Give me hope to do better...!
I am so thankful you started doing videos! They are so helpful and its appreciated. Loving all the cute new molds by the way. Need to get my hands on those BTS and BT21 lovelies
Awwww thank you!! You're too sweet! :)
I was watching another resin crafter here on RUclips, I forget her name, she uses CitriStrip (Home Depot or Lowe's, and it's safe to use indoors) to clean the epoxy from her brushes. I bought some just to check it out and it does work! I don't use expensive brushes, but this stuff cleaned the epoxy out of one of my smaller Martha Stewart brushes. A little time consuming but better than tossing brushes!
Keep on going l love your videos 💕
Great video, thank you so much! I like the latex idea too. I would love to see you do a video on coming with UV Resin. Whenever I done with it it continues to pull away. I've ruined a lot of pieces. Wow, I just noticed the date of this vid...maybe you did a UV dome how to? Lol, I'll check. Thanks again, Pam 😊
Beautiful Shine🌹
So interesting! I’ll def try this out :D btw I’m not sure if you used them before, but there’s silicone paintbrushes that would probably last you more long term than plastic brushes! All you need to do is wait for the latex to dry so you can peel it off!
If you’re allergic to liquid latex, just use elmers school glue! It works the same
rlly?
@@strawberrix I’m pretty sure it’s PVA? So I think it should work
Totally agree, sanding drives me bananas!! Have you tried the latex-backing part using regular ol' packing tape?? The liquid latex method looks like it works 110%, that's exactly what we want it to do but having to buy it, and like you mentioned, latex allergies are a thing, I'm going to try the packing tape method today, see if it works! *Going to find and follow you on Insta too, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work!
Your background is supper cute
Hello, I really love your work, can you tell please where can I get those little shining words?
I've learned so much from you! I have been doming the sides of my shaker charms but I have found that it does droop and get thicker at the back. Do you not typically dome your sides?
saw this then subbed
When doing the latex method would you have to mention latex as an allergen? Are the latex particles not gonna linger in the finished products?
I'm a new subscriber. I love watching your videos. In this video love seeing the transformation of the pieces from mat to shiny 😍😍😍😍so satisfying
Sakura Yes I forgot to mention that. Most people I have seen that use this method disclose that they used liquid latex on their pieces. Thank you for reminding me, I’ll add that to my pinned comment. 😊
@@SweetArtCrafts I am fairly new to resin and have a question: What is domeing?
Hi there different liquid latex do i get clear or skin colour ? Love your work many thanks x
Beautiful!!! Can you use uv resin to dome?
So cool!! How do you get foil pieces into shakers like that? Where the piece is in front of the bits?
Thank you for sharing, where did you get that mat from?
I wanted to ask how you put the keychains to your resin pieces on because i have some keychains to add and idk how
Do you have a video on how to place your foil decals?
hi! lovely tutorials, thank you so much c: could watercolor masking liquid work like liquid latex? i mean, it's basically just latex anyway
These are geologist! Where did you find the Barbie logo? I love it 💖
I cant believe im just finding this channel! do you have a reccomendation for a liquid latex brand?
would using tape be better than latex for flat backed peaces?
I love so much.yust a quetion.how you clean yours brushs after use resin?
Sonia Arsiero two people commented saying that they use soak their brushes in rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover.
Would the latex nail tape work? the stuff that comes in a nail polish bottle.
Can you tell me what pigment or glitters you used to achieve the pikachu and pusheen charms?! I checked your site and wasn’t sure what to look for. It’s so beautiful!
If they some how break can they be fixed?
You can clean your resin brush with nail polish remover while it is still wet if you want to keep using the same brush.
Thank you for the tip! I am going to try this out!! :)
So, it looks to me like I could use the liquid latex instead of taping the backs of my coasters. Would it work?
Margaret Perry Yes! I’ve seen people use tape, though I haven’t tried it myself, liquid latex works really good and since it’s Halloween time, I got a big bottle from Walmart for only $10. I need to stock up. 😂
Omg so cute what’s the name of the keychain you use and from where did you buy them ?
Did u use glitter letters to make the words on the charms?
Hello thanks for the video. I have made 2 shaker charms without success. You guys make it look so easy. Help! My pieces leaks. I havent master that. Also coming is difficult because the resin get stuck on the back. It just get messy. I hate to waste resin. Yes sanding is the wrist. Lol. Any suggestion will be great. I don't like my shaker leaking.
Watch my shaker charm tutorial, I have a trick for helping with the leaking. Also using Liquid latex helps with the resin not getting stuck on the back, which was shown at the beginning of this tutorial. Hope that helps!
What kinda resin do u recommed
where did you get your loop findings from?
Hi there! I hope you see this, I’ve been trying to figure out what to look up for the keychain hardware but I’m not sure what the metal part that’s heart shaped is, you added them to the back when you domed your pieces.
They're called glue-on bails you can find them on AliExpress for cheap
Oh my gosh the pikachu where did you get that foil and whats it called
So, is the uv resin for just making a shiny coat?
I wonder if using gelatin would work for people allergic to latex? You can get a big box of the satchels at a grocery store. It has similar properties, but I've never used it that way before.
Beautiful 😍 I love watching your videos. Did you make your word pieces with Cricut?
Jordan Stevens Yes! I have a tutorial on channel as well 💖
Can i use normal white glue?
I’m going to ask a really dumb question and please forgive me for it, but can these be used on/for? They’re so pretty!
Which type of resin is usually used for doming?
If you have a little polymer clay, you can make a little ball to keep the pikachu even when doming.
Great video! Where did you get the honeycomb mat from please?
Amazon
So I just peel it all off after?
I'm having issues with the resin receding from the edges of the shaker and I'm not sure how to fix this :( I end up sometimes having to dome twice , any tips?
Love your videos, how did you get your pieces look
Sorry, look, different color like your Pikachu
can we re use those brushes? (dollar store ones xd)
once that u put them into resin it doesn't get hard?
Hi there! Beginner cafter here, I have a question about doming. :) Do you HAVE to dome? Like, is it just to make the peices shinier, or is it necessary in the process? Thanks so much, love your channel 💖
I am new and wondering this as well. Hopefully we can get an answer
Doming shakers helps seal the plastic and keep the liquid from leaking. Or help seal in bails on the back. Or you just use it to make it shiny on the front, but not necessary
Where can I get that pigment that you used for pikachu and pusheen?
I tried to use it, but my latex took the glow out of my resin, and it became somewhat foggy? Do you have any idea why this happened?
Can you tell me how to make hologram sticker? What paper do u use?
Such great ideas thank you! May i ask what silicone mat that is please?
It's a pot holder silicone mat, I believe I got them in a set at Aldi.
@@SweetArtCrafts thank you
Can I ask where you got your blue tray or what it's called?
How to clean the paint brush used from Rezen
Is it possible to use PVA glue instead of latex because I barely know any place I can get latex.
Can i use glue instead of latex?
Which glue you use ?
How do we cope with missed spots during doming ?
Can you stick the peace to tape if you don't have liquid latex?
Agneta Rupšytė I’ve seen some ppl do this but I’ve never tried it.
Hi....Im a newbie...please explain exactly what doming is and it's purpose...
What’s the heart metal thing you add before you dome the back?
It’s heart bails!
Sometimes my shakers get lines in them? I don’t know what it is or how to prevent it, do u know what I mean?
Where do you get the eye pins for attaching to necklace or bracelet? I can only find the plain circular ones...
Search heart bails!
When im doming shakers the resin is almost fine but some parts are looking weird or they are sticky
You can definitely reuse the brushes, if you clean them immediately with gel nail residue cleaner or 91% isopropyl alcohol. 🙃
You can use your brushes again if you use some alchahol after you used it and wipe it of
Thank you! Going to try this!
Ilove you somuch
Is doming necessary? Can you some with regular epoxy resin?
Yes it’s necessary cause you want a nice/smooth finished
Where did u get the molds what are they called
What did you use for the neon pink color
It's a neon pigment that I sell on my website.
hi! i've been watching ur vids to find out why the uv resin doesn't cure fully when i apply the full sheet but i can't find anything is it just me doing something wrong?😩 the film sheet does stick to the piece but it stays a bit sticky & if i try taking off the film sheet the uv resin comes off with it, is that normal? any tips T.I.A.
