  • Please forgive me! I’m pretty soft spoken and I don’t have anything close to professional camerawork or editing software. Nevertheless, the technical quality of my tutorial aside, I really hope that if you’ve never worked with resin before, you will be able to follow my tutorial and make your very own shaker. Please let me know if there is anything that I missed (other than sanding your piece; I know I skipped that)!
    Also please browse the description below, which contains time stamps to specific parts of the tutorial, a supply list and links to everything, some of my favorite mold and supply shops, and a couple further tutorials that might help with anything I didn’t show or explain clearly enough.
    All the best luck!

    Don't bother on the technical side of video making. You have explained the process quite nicely. Love the icecream 😁😁

    The inks tend to stain your molds. If you don't mind that, your creation can be quite stunning, but, I don't want to keep replacing the molds. It does get expensive.
    I use very little acrylic paints and love the effects I get. You're correct in stating that your piece will not cure as it should for a very long time, but I found that after a few days, when I apply fresh resin on the piece, it cured solid. Live and learn...lol. One thing I don't use is wood for stirring. I use clear plastic knives and spoons from the dollar store. I want to thank you for all the tips and vital information regarding epoxy resin. Awesome. ♥️👍

      Nyla Saghir I noticed that some of my older pieces that I didn’t do that with, when I kept them hanging for a long time (and they were filled from the bottom) they started to leak just a little bit. But my newer pieces don’t seem to have a problem! It’s not something I’ve ever seen anyone else talk about so I felt like I had to share 😊

    For beginners or ppl like me who have a small craft allowance I suggest using Aliexpress. I buy great molds and dyes from there all the time. Glitter is cheap as well as jewelry findings and they are a good quality. Shakers bits too. I've been buying for 5years and have had 1 problem with a mold. Just read reviews and go with the best option for you. I dont work or am sponsored by them I just think it's a great app. Smaller stores like MS or S&T get their supplies there also

    I am attempting to make charms and I couldnt understand how my pieces kept sticking to the side. I tried more film, less film, e6000, etc. Thank you for the tip on using a little bit of baby oil in the shaker so it doesn't stick to the sides! I ruined so many pieces >.< You're a lifesaver.

    So when you want a darker shade do you use the opaque and the qiao qiao diy together? For instance if you wanted a deep black ?

    • @moultingrook8091
      @moultingrook8091  5 лет назад +1

      Kamikaze Cash I actually don’t! If I want a more pastel shade I will use the opaque white and the diy dyes together. If I want a stronger, more saturated transparent color, I will use more diy dye by itself. But if I want a darker color, I would use the diy dye black and colors together to get it. It will still be a little transparent unless you use a lot of black dye

    • @limaa5364
      @limaa5364 4 года назад

      Jessica Sanz no the latex is for the back (here she is doming the front of the piece)
      if there is overspill of resin when doming the front, you can just peel the latex off the back :)
