Hey everyone! Thank you all so much for the support on my first video and thanks for subscribing. I get asked a lot on how I get the super cool holographic effect I have in some of my charms. I have decided to show you guys exactly how I make them in this video. I hope this video was easily to follow along and if you have any questions, leave the down below and I will try to answer them. I feel like anyone else that watches Simply Nailogical is silently yelling that this isnt holo, its iridescent. But they are so pretty that it doesnt even matter

If you have or know anyone with a cricut machine you could probably scan in a tracing of your charms and make a cutting template out of it! It could save you a bit of trouble with having to cut out each back by hand!

Love the video! Would it be easier to just take the trace you did and load to design space and size that way so you don’t have to cut it yourself?

Yes I painted my mold with acrylic paints and let it dry prior to pouring my resin in. The mold has the face on it just have to paint it to be shown. I can show that process in another video. :)

Nice stuff! You don't have any issues with the vinyl wanting to peel away from the resin? That would be my main worry besides possible bubbles under the vinyl layer. You did a great job here.
Pam Miller No it usually doesn’t peel away because the resin is still tacky enough to grip the vinyl and it just sticks. I always had issues and bubbles when I would put the vinyl in the resin right after I poured it. :) and thank you!

absolutely love this video! I've been trying this technique for fun and I can't seem to avoid giant air bubbles when I place the vinyl cut out on the resin.... do you have any tips by chance? :)

Do you reckon there’s a template for these molds outlines that you could upload into cricut with their exact dimensions 🤔 rather than hand tracing and cutting them I was thinking if someone had their exact shape and dimensions in a file you could cricut them perfectly!
how do you get that sanded sort of finish on the pikachu? it's not super clear like the flower one. I really like it.

Why don't you put clear resin on the back? Seems like it wouldn't need the glitter color on the back side. I'm just curious. I'm new to resin.

They no longer sell it unfortunately. It was an ice cube mold that was being sold in store.
Did you use paint on pikachu’s eyes, mouth, and cheeks??
Ok great!!! Question are the faces of the Pikachu painted by you or they came that way? Love 💕 is idea!
So the mold have the face but I paint it with acrylic paint so that you can see what the face looks like better. Ive seen many people make this charm without painting the face.
I saw your mold stuck to the piece. Don’t use a torch to pop bubbles! It melts your mold into the resin. Instead, us a heat gun. They work like magic

You should definitely sell these instead of just the molds. Especially the pikachu ones! Because other companies might try selling them instead!

How do you get the pikas matte??? Mine are glossy 🙈🙈
Why not use chameleon powders? Or color shifting powder? I think it’s much cheaper (and easier)!
For me this was easier and the effect was better than the powders.

doesn't the vinyl block the last pour of pigmented resin you pour ?
The back layer is just for aesthetics and to seal in the vinyl.
I tried but the vinyl curls up on the resin.
Is the purpose of pouring dark resin on the back, to hide the sticker?
Yes it’s to hide the sticker.
Can you make a Domino mold?
Which ones on your website I can use for shakers? Like the rainbow one can it be used as keychains? I suppose I'm asking can all you sell be used as keychains?

Do you paint inside of the mold before putting epoxy?? Is that how the face comes out already done?

Can you use a hair dryer on low instead of a blow torch?
Not sure how if the hair dryer would work since I have never tried that before but you can always use a heat gun.
