the latex glue is GENIUS. i just started working with resin last year and have mostly just been experimenting a bunch and teaching myself through trial and error since it is just a hobby right now (though i do hope to start making and selling some pieces now that i’ve mostly gotten the hang of it!) but the one thing i’ve really never gotten down no matter how many times i’ve tried and different ways i’ve tried it is doming. id say it works about 75% of the time, but i’ve ruined really pretty pieces with poor doming jobs or overspill and trying to overcorrect it 😢 i’m so glad i found this video - let’s just say that not all youtube DIY videos are made equally 😂 so i never know what i’m going to get but this one was great - thank you!! i’m ordering liquid latex right now lol. will definitely check out your other videos if you have them!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! Doming ALWAYS spills to the backs of my projects. Now that I’ve seen your glue idea I don’t have to angrily hurl all my stuff out the window! I appreciate you!
Excellent tutorial! You do a beautiful job of doming. I had trouble with it in the beginning, but I've gotten much better over time - especially with help from videos like yours. Thank you!
I love this so much! Seriously, liquid latex has saved so many of my pieces and it’s true that there will be some pieces that always spill on a certain area. For charms I do with a mica powdered dome, I actually add a second clear layer to make it that much more glossy!
Thank you! This tutorial was really helpful! How do you dome a resin earring that already has the hole pierced through? The resin often spills through the hole and onto the silicone mat :(
You're welcome thanks for watching 😊 this can be tricky, you just have to let the resin thicken enough that the doming seal doesn't break and leak. A few of my keychains have holes already, you just have to be really careful.
Very informative video, thank you. I am wondering can I use the pva glue on the side of a piece that’s not yet been resined? Just in case drips do form from coating the first side with resin. I’ll be working on a painted wooden piece.
This is helpful. Thankfully now I following the steps, after a year having a resin job thru diy 😅 except for latex/pva glue protection bcs I don’t have. I use isopropyl alcohol to clean the edge. But the rice surface is brilliant! I never had a thought even a little abt that So thanks! 🤘🏼
What if you dome and dont want anything dripping down the sides? For instance I am trying to put resin on top of a side table and I don't want dripping down the sides. Should I put liquid latex around the edge(rim) of the table?
I tried making shakers a few years back. I kept having trouble putting the first layer of resin on over the plastic "top" and with the mineral oil leaking a bit from the hole or edges. It got me very frustrated! You make it look very easy in comparison!
Making shakers is indeed very frustrating sometimes. I still ruin some of mine. I will hopefully be working on an updated shaker tutorial soon 💖 but thank you for watching 😊
Great tutorial, thank you! Do you also protect the sides of the piece with glue? Doesnt overspill run down the sides and stick to the sides even if the front is protected?
Thank you! I don't protect the sides, for some reason I've never had issues with the resin sticking to the sides? It will usually just run to the front

Hi. Great information. Thank you. Good to know about the protection of the opposite side with glue. Do you think Mod Podge glue would work instead of PVA and latex glue. Just getting back into resin making again and love to protect when doming. Always struggled with the back drips. I’m glad you made this video I’m excited to try. 😀💜🙏
Ive been having some trouble with my doming :( i either add too much or too little, ive been having a hard time trying to figure out what the right level is 😅
Why, oh WHY didn't I watch this before messing around with resin today for the first time??? You just covered everything I struggled with. Thank you!
Haven’t used resin yet, know I want to dome. This video has had best instruction and tips I’ve seen in 2 weeks . Thank you
That's very kind, I'm glad it was helpful, thank you! Sorry I only just saw this comment.

Thanks for the info. Lisa😮

Thank you, thank you, thank you! You answered so many questions I had about this. I'm going to use the rice trick and the glue trick today! Bless you!
@@NinaHansen2008 I'm so glad it was helpful 😊 thanks for watching
Thanks for the video. Helped me a lot with the overspill
This is great. I just made my first pieces yesterday and was wondering how to go about doming them. Perfect timing!
Yay thanks for watching! Good luck with your first doming 💖

Ohhh thats a nice idea! I love using mica powder dome on the back of pieces, I've never thought about adding an extra clear layer though!
Thanks for the update, clear and concise instructions.
Thank you for the positive feedback Cathy :)
Loved this video! Instructions easy to follow.
Your videos are tremendously helpful!! Thank you!!

This was a great informative video, many thanks xx
You have such a wonderful way of explaining everything! Thank you so much!

Fabulous video, very informative. I enjoy 2 part resin and up resin.
Thank you 💖
Hi, i just found your channel and store today. I am loving both. Thank you
Hi, thank you so much! 💖
Super helpful video. Thank you.
great video, you make it easy to understand and heaps of tips.
How did you making the star with moving parts inside?
Awesome! Tho I wonder how about the sides? Don’t it drip? Do you put glue on the sides too? Sorry for the newbie question I’m just curious.
That's ok! No the resin seems to just run to the front. If you're worried feel free to use the glue on the sides too 😊
@@SeriouslyCreative i see. Thank you so much for answering! Your works are amazing! You’re amazing!

Great video. helpful! where do I get PVA?
Very informative video, thank you. I am wondering can I use the pva glue on the side of a piece that’s not yet been resined? Just in case drips do form from coating the first side with resin. I’ll be working on a painted wooden piece.
You can give it a try! Whenever i use wood i would use painters tape to protect, i just find it a bit easier
What type of resin you use for doming? Thank you for sharing about doming.

Hi! Great video. May I have the name of the metal finding that you attached at the top?
Metal bail
Or keyring bail
Thank you!
Do you have a mixing tutorial for those using epoxy instead of uv resin?
I use epoxy resin! Unfortunately I do not have a tutorial, my reducing bubble video is probably the closest one I have to a mixing tutorial 😊
Totally useful, thanks a lot!!!
Thank you
I’m off to get some PVA glue 👍
Thanks you for this tutorial!!!! I always have problem dooming :) thanks you for sharing your knowledge 💖

Cant you put the latex on the sides or edge so it doesn't drip
Thank you!
I love your videos!! Thanks for the tutorial and tips ❤️

Where can find the mold you got in your video on RUclips?
Which resin from Justresin did you use. The links don’t work for me.
Question for anyone. If I dome one side how can I be sure when I turn it over it is level? Won’t the side that is domed possibly be uneven?
An uneven dome will cause overspill. If you do it properly, once turned over, it will be even.
Great tutorial, thank you! Do you also protect the sides of the piece with glue? Doesnt overspill run down the sides and stick to the sides even if the front is protected?

Thank you.. can you plz tell what is the type of pigment you used for these pieces

Mod podge works 100%
I think mid podge is the same/similar to pva 😊
@@FansyBLK Thank you 🙏. Will try.
@@SeriouslyCreative Thank you 🙏 Will give it a go. Thank you for replying 😀💜🙏
Do you have to dome both sides?
Me gusta los llaveros
What is PVA glue?
Where do you get the little heart shaped silver pieces you glue on for the keychains?? I am obsessed!! ❤️
Ebay 😊 they're called bails
Instant follow!
This is cool
How/where can I buy that exact mat?
Why is first resin layer white while other clear ??
Seriously creative.👽🦄.

Ive been having some trouble with my doming :( i either add too much or too little, ive been having a hard time trying to figure out what the right level is 😅
Doming is the hardest part of doing resin in my opinion! you will find something that works for you 😊
Nice
💖😊
In which resin ur doming
Can you use uv resin to do this?
If you like, its not my preference though. I feel like uv resin doesn't cure as hard
What brand of resin do you recommend for doming?
I love Just Resin 😊 there's a discount code on my instagram if you want to try it
I dome with UV resin, that way I don’t have to worry about dust getting in the piece.
What brand do you use? All the UV resin I've used i hate lol
when im doming theres like a oil or something on it and then ended up its not smooth and perfect… bc theres oil blemish on it 🥺
There’s only big bottles of liquid latex online
❤❤❤❤❤
Cool alien ?
I look at alien .
Great tips,thank you.
