As an Australian with a rare cultivated accent, the narration presented here is beyond unsatisfactory. I’ve been to Japan, and I expect better.

The narration to this video would have been far better in English Upper Received Pronunciation rather than this excessively rhotic Americanised accent. As an Englishwomen, I found this sounded absolutely dreadful. Her Majesty The Queen most certainly would have agreed.

Prince Charles went to the enthronement ceremony of the current Emperor, and Emperor Emeritus is fortunately still with us. Previous Emperors' funerals were mostly done according to traditional Japanese ceremonies, which tend not to invite foreign dignitaries. I would like to see this change in the future, but will respect the Imperial Household Agency's decision.
