    The hardest thing for me when painting is to know exactly how to get the right amount of clear on it. There's a fine line between getting that perfect wet coat gloss...and applying just a hair too much and getting a run, drip, or sag. Which I've done a lot. But when it's right, when you're shooting glass and it stays perfect as it cures, there's no better feeling.

    • @LncPainter
      @LncPainter  6 месяцев назад +1

      Once you spray the same clear long enough and use the same spray gun you will fine tune it and know exactly how far you can push your clear coat before getting a run! Just takes time and practice be patient! 👍🏻😄

    Tricky job Andrey, i've fallen foul a few times with blues they look great when just painted then when you get outside in the sunlight shit" lol. Back in and redo its all a learning curve even after 48 years . i use a sunlight now gods best creation 😂.

    • @LncPainter
      @LncPainter  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! 😄👍🏻 yes sunlight with the lights off is a must to check for coverage! Not just with blues but pretty much every color, i know silvers and blacks are difficult to see as well, but with the lights off and sunlight you can make sure that you got the proper coverage 👊🏻👍🏻😄

    Man oh man Andrey...I love your videos so much. Vlad's videos are cool too of course haha - but yours are just poetry to watch. Really appreciate all the explanations of what, why and where to use what certain products and what they do. Learned so much about painting in just this video alone. It's like taking a master class. Your videos always make my day. That spray-out card demonstration was wild.

      @@LncPainter That's great to hear man. I think it will pay off. I've been subscribed to you and Vlad since very early on (the TJ hunt days) and really enjoy learning from your videos on paint restoration. On my channel, I try to always explain what I'm doing and note what products I'm using for engine building, etc.; I have found that my subscribers really appreciate it. Even something like mentioning what cleaner / de-greaser you used to wipe down the panels on the Tesla (i.e. a quick annotation in the video like with a 3M part # or something) helps a lot for all us novice painters out here in the audience. That sort of information and guidance is super appreciated. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to make these videos. The new format is really great!

    Please keep adding in the details of the guns you use. This is very useful information I love to see. I know the pressures will vary and you will always need to do a spray out to ensure you have the correct spray pattern. I love knowing about the tips used i.e. 1.3mm and the gun models. Thanks for your great content. Keep up the great work as always.

    Fantastic job as always. Do use the ppg camera to get the right colour? Here in the uk we don't get colour chips with ppg just the camera but i find it doesn't give you the right shade most of the time ☹️

    • @LncPainter
      @LncPainter  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! I sometimes use ppg camera, but paint store has to come out with it and do it for us, we do not have one at the shop. We do have color chips that work well most of the time, usually if color chip don’t match we will get the camera out and it usually provides a great match.

    Nice work and great explanation of the process. Very cool you’re using a Pro lite spray gun! I have a question if you wouldn’t mind helping me with. When using base clear if you miss the 12 hour window for chemical adhesion of the clear coat can you scuff the base for a mechanical adhesion. Reason I’m asking is I’m doing white along the bottom and roof of my truck and a medium blue every where else . I’m trying to avoid hard lines and extra masking. I’ve always sprayed single stage paint because I see so many vehicles with the clear coat popping off , what gives you the beast adhesion chemical or mechanical? Thanks for any advice I’m in the US.

    • @LncPainter
      @LncPainter  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks, i think nowadays the current paints are designed best for chemical adhesion…with that said with ppg we have a 24 hour window to clearcoat and 48 hours to re-basecoat/clearcoat. I think sanding the basecoat then clear after more than 24 hours will not provide enough adhesion for the clearcoat since you are sanding very lightly and with fine grit as to not ruin the basecoat.

    do you know any paint code for that grey base coat that i can tell my local paint shop. i’m with you on not liking sealer.

    • @LncPainter
      @LncPainter  6 месяцев назад

      I use the actual G shade as a color code and it gives me a formula. So for light gray color code would be G3 and for dark gray color code would be G7 and it will give me the formula to match the correct shade
