Im trying to learn water borne paint techniques, my take away is spray a "tack" coat first and let it cure a second before spraying the base as usual. Great video, thank you
One of your most well done videos as for as explaining everything your doing and why your doing it. the information was on point nothing i can think of that you didn't give an answer to. Well done as usual, i always enjoy your content and appreciate the time and knowledge you share
I learned this from you a while back I only use microfiber clothes, use both solvent, water cleaner works great some other painters look at me wired when watching me clean panels I get almost a perfect finish.
Hey Gabe it's great to see another video from you as I've been missing you not uploading, looks like I need to clean my panels more and I thought I was overdoing it 😂so for me that was a useful tip I will take from your video👌 I was painting a panel in BMW Velvet blue this morning the finish was spot on but to many nibs for my liking so I'll try your method, thanks Gabe🙏🙏👍John UK.
Awesome video Gabe glad to see you back and I like how you clean those panels over and over that was wonderful no dust lol 😂 Gabe I really enjoyed that video much love ❤️ enjoy your day buddy 👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌💯💯💯💯🙏🙏👏👏
feel like this never gets enough recognition, but shouts to the prepper. those are some beautifully prepped panels. what do they sand paint and blend panels with
I agree. There is no job in this profession that should be overlooked. Each job is as important as the next. This seems to be a very underappreciated skill to a lot of people.
Thank you for pointing out the air setting and tip size, it really helps. I would like also to know what are the rit level of sanding starting on bear metal.
Hey Gabe, do you ever tack off after your control coat as well before clear? Really appreciate all the insight and tips you’re giving. Been painting for only two years now but I am loving it!
These blues can be some of the more deceiving colors for hiding. It's the pitch that will throw you. I've seen painters finish these and then look a it in the sun and can see right through it. This looked like it covered very well over that shade of gray primer. I usually seal or use the spectral gray base first. Works well. So you dont use tack rags at all anymore? Interesting. Thanks for sharing
@@jeremyoetken2094 Totally agree. Learned that trick some time ago. Unfortunately the other painter I was working with didn't do that and also used too light of a ground coat. He painted a complete F150. It didn't end well.
Great jobs always man , I have a question, For complete cars or more than 5 panels do you thing the WALCOM 360 1.2 is a good enough option or 1.3 is the better way to go , my ex boss is selling the WALCOM carbonio 360 but both base and clear are 1.2 , I usually in my guns I use 1.3 only in the sagola throphy I use 1.2xl but this gun put a lot material , I don't have too much experience with the WALCOM so I don't know if is good to buy 1.2 or 1.3
I just became full time painter at my shop starting Tuesday and I’ve been following for sometime but I’ve come back to watch your videos to refresh the memory and pick up tips
@@MOTIVATEDPAINTERS are you still getting a flat finish with your technique even though walcom recommend the gun to much closer to the panel and to moving much faster.
amazing craftsmanship.
Great gun handling.
Love
Mikes from Jamaica I love your technique and I am learning a lot from you keep it going job well done

I’m going to try water cleaner as a last wipe, I’ve always used water first before going in the booth then prep sol for final wipe in booth.

Why did you leave out some of the reducer on the clear ? We recently switched to enviro clear and I really like it !
Just a little extra body
Question...do you use any sort of tack rag or is the microfiber what you use. Thank you

That's why you turn the booth lights off and look at the coverage with a color match light. You can't ever trust the booth lights
I don't use them much! Only in certain cases like if I sand the base I'll tack it
Ye ssor!

Just curious. Thanks for the reply. Love your work!
Good job bro😊, what size of fluid tip and aircap you're using on applying clearcoat bro.?
Thank you!!! 1.2 the clear Carbonio! I have it on motivatedpainters.com
What caind spray gun you used
Are you still getting a flat finish with your technique even though walcom recommend the gun to be much closer to the panel and to moving much faster?
For sure! Gun techniques can achieve all kinds of finishes I never lay glass though with any gun
Hey Gabriel what tip size on that clear gun ?

1.3 is good, but if u want that show car finish I’d use1.4
Why 25psi? I’ve always been told keep it 16-20 psi just wondering if the higher psi is better?
I just became full time painter at my shop starting Tuesday and I’ve been following for sometime but I’ve come back to watch your videos to refresh the memory and pick up tips
No paper and Spray mask anymore?
Nah the preppers like the plastic
Clear 1.2 or 1.3 mp?
Both! In this video 1.2

Sandpile tip works wonders!!!! Not on a silver though learn that lesson the hard way😂😂😂
Amazing hahaha
If you do it on solvers you got to do the whole thing and apply another wet coat
