In tekken 7 being a fujin meant u were pretty good. Beating a tekken God was a big deal and i ended as a tekken king. In 8 tekken gods can play like fujins and make u wonder how they got the ra nk.
Started watching ur videos a few days ago and wanted to say you're honestly one of my favorite new tekken content creators. You provide good insight (and aren't bitter you clearly enjoy the game for what it is) and you cover topics that others don't e.g "is quick match good?" Really liked your take on the ranked system, would be awesome to see a legends system. Usually I don't go for longform "mainly talking in front of a camera" content and need more visual stuff (ADHD ass brain, the gameplay clip in the background is appreciated for visual stimuli though fr.) Would be nice to maybe see you give some small video examples of what you're talking about like "if you play Bryan and do his f2,1,2,3,2 string that looks like this-" Too many creators that expect every player, even new players, to know what strings look like. Also have you considered creating a discord? I'd love to join and maybe play some matches/get simple coaching.

I wasn't confident enough to do it in the past but now I feel like I know the character well enough to share my opinion. I am going to the birmingham event too! but tomorrow. The ranked system in this game makes no sense whatsoever. I play guys that are 2 ranks above me with 200k+ tekken prowess. And you're telling I'd lose more points facing those fuckers than losing to someone my rank or below. It's a joke. You should not be losing more points if you lose to people 2 or 3 ranks higher. If someone below your rank beats you then you should lose more points.
The system is all over the place, so honestly, if it was after me, I'd make it that you win X and lose X+50 regardless of which rank your opponent is. Opponent is 2 ranks lower? You with the same amount of points as if the other guy was the same rank as you or even higher. Reason being, a guy higher rank than you might be way worse than you because he got his rank by cherry picking and flowcharting to have a 42 DEF with Devil Jin, while someone lower rank than you might be way better than you because they're a turtle and have a 93 DEF with Alisa so they take longer to climb because they aren't just trying to run people over and hope that the opponent doesn't know the MU. So in those two examples, should you lose more points to the DJ because he was worse than you but you just didn't figure the flow chart fast enough, or should you lose less because he's higher rank than you? Same with the Alisa, should you lose less points because the guy was better than you or more points because the guy was lower rank than you? Those are just examples ofc, but it's just how ranked is. In Tekken, being a higher rank doesn't mean you're good, but not being able to reach a higher rank means you're not good and are missing crucial pieces of the puzzle, hence why I said that if it was after me, different ranks wouldn't change how many points you win/lose, it's a always a flat amount.

Tekken 8 gives out rank like free candy. I've seen Tekken gods who can't jab punish properly. The game carries bad players
