for anyone having a problem with the addon, i used blender 3.6 for all steps till 8:00; then the steps after that i used 4.0, this was the only way it worked for me, hope this helps !!
I have tried 3.68 3.62 3.60 & 3.1 as the documentation states that version specifically. Every time I run it the body is rigged fine, but the rest of the objects do not have bones even though they're added to the hierarchy. I have checked the naming conventions on everything so idk...

this is great, thank you. if we wanted to scale this down to be a matchbox car size, what would be the easiest method? I have tried, but the axis point makes it so the constraint to the nurbcurve is way out in front of the car, therefore a big offset is applied. cheers!

I learnd you rigid video and make it like same to same but when i added bones the tyres change postion to forward and when i click on rigid it goes to backward

Just use the previous version of Blender (Blender 3.0, 3.1), which works fine. or you do it in Portable 3.0 and open it in the current version that you are using to continue with the animation.
Hi, I'm new to blender, and I'm planning on using this tutorial to make a car design/rig to import into Unity, which I'll then add movement code into, so that I can move the car using my keyboard. Can I do that with this tutorial?

Solved: ...Just spent like 3 hours trying to understand why adding a deformation rig would cause everything to flip around and bones would not line up with car. Figured out the problem as i was typing "the bones pop up seemed to be aligned to my view.........(not orientated to my model)" Problem of course is that i have in settings that new items i add into the world are relative to my view. Simply needed to look down at my car and "poof - done"

When I do the follow path step I got an issue with it my car moved to the start of the path but it's remained rotated about -70 degrees along z axis.And even baking the animation just changed the front tyres rotation but the remaining rig remained unaffected even after baking. Can you tell me what step I am doing wrong?? If yes it will be very helpful for me.

Hi, I downloaded the car model and tried the rigging. But i realized that the car wheel are grouped with too many objects even the nuts and bolts are seperate, so when i try to seperate tyre, I had to seperate out too many elements to be grouped as rotating part of wheel, other than the disc break. Can you help me out?

Just use blender 3.0 it work perfect, You can download zip setup if you don't want to override the setup. After bake, you use blender 3.5.1 to continue with animation.

I think it will be good to start from the beginning using that version.. if you have already add bake remove it.. Also make sure you install the addon in that version.

Before I get to baking (I been reading the comments yeah. Still dunno wth it is) I have a problem. When I add the car deformation rig the damn bone at the center is bigger than my car(or a similar size). Then there's the other damn bones. Only one seems to be somewhere phasing through the brake or something and the others are 3 meters behind the car. Is it because I created the model myself? Or is it because I'm doing something wrong? I added brakes, but they're separate parts. Like the disc and the caliper are two separate objects but parented to the disc. Damn I'm just blasting phonk tryna figure this out. Edit: I'm stupid. I think it's either because I parented the brakes to the wheels or I didn't name it properly. I must be STOOBID.

Yes, I have see that problem too in blender 3.5 but you can solve it by using previous versions of blender (eg blender 3.0) to bake wheel and rotation., then you can came back to your current version to proceed with other steps.
The solution for those of us who have had problems in version 4.1 is to do it in portable 3.6 and then only open it in 4.1 Regards

Yes you can do that, Just join all the object which you want to act as ground sensor

1:24 you can just click 'L' on whatever your mouse is currently hovering over and it should do the trick. Make sure nothing else is selected first.

Just check how you rename tyre and make sure origin is set to geometry

Yes, you can use any name that you prefer, but you should finish with a suffix name at the end. Example Mycar - Body

Before add deformation rig, select all the part right click and set origin to geometry

Why do you need to rig the calipers, what do they do exactly !?
Yes, that is part of the disc brake system. As you can see, when a car moves, only the wheel rotates, but the calipers don't spin.
