Not me finding this after having beaten the game multiple times with 2.6k hours and having introduced a friend new to the game to the insane unhinged world of modding.
Terraria Veteran here. Terraria is undoubtedly one of the best games ever made with one of the best developers I've seen in gaming. I have played the game since 2012 and see it grow with each update, I can safely say Terraria devs are better than Minecraft devs. Their mindset is incredibly different in that each major update gives us more than just a few blocks, or just a mob. When 1.2 dropped which introduced hardmode (the phase after you defeated Wall of Flesh), it puts you right back to the start where you feel powerless. New bosses, new enemies and tons of new items, this update surprised everyone. It gave Terraria one of the best progressions you see in gaming. If it's not clear enough, I love the game. I love it so much it has its own place in my heart. That said, thanks for the video. It always makes me smile seeing people appreciating Terraria
Thanks for the great comment! The developers for terraria definitely do not disappoint and I love that they listen to the community. I will ALWAYS love this game
Comparing Terraria and Minecraft is like apples to oranges, but yes the Terraria devs have clearly put so much love into the game. It’s such a good game and I spend probably half of it waiting for the respawn timer.
As another terraria veteran, this comment is very well spoken. Been playing since the first release on Xbox 360 and will never find another game like this, it truly is one of a kind.
I love both games, but Terraria devs are 10x better, for Minecraft it's mostly Microsoft's fault, but I like how Terraria devs are always ready to listen to the community unlike Minecraft devs (no, the mob vote doesn't count.)
My wife got me into terraria and I also knew nothing about it and I fell in love with it instantly. After playing terraria I tried minecraft and was bored quick. There is a lot to do in terraria and I feel every playthrough is very different. There is so much do and discover. I'm a consol player and play pc just recently

I remember the first time I summoned the eye of cthuhlu was on my kindle fire in a world with my brother. I found a suspicious looking eye and thought that "suspicious" was just one of the prefixes, and that it would let you see farther. Then, me and my brother lost immediately.
Yeah. I started playing this game on the mobile version back in around 2017 with my mother and sibling. The version was still 1.2 and mobile we were blind to the whole game. It was one of the funnest things I've experienced.
One of my best gaming moments was in last year. I was sometimes playing it, but not so often. Then I got the Minishark. I killed Eye of Cthulhu after some fails with melee weapons. The fight was good, but nothing compared it to my first fight against Eater of Words. With a help from Wiki, I summoned the boss and oh my God, it felt so amazing, so good. I beat him first try and the fight was amazing itself. I felt so superior and strong, it boosted my love for Terraria a lot. It was so satisfying to watch the boss's parts disappear and you destroy him by making it smaller and more killable. This game is amazing. I play it to this day and I won't stop. That fight with the worm is the pure reason I got more into Terraria. I will never regret my decision!
Consistent updates make it so that every time you come back, there are lots of new small things that make it fresh. Not to mention awesome overhaul mods.

bro I started like 2 weeks ago, and I am OBSESSED with the game. after my first playthrough, I did a calamity playthrough with my friend, and now I have my own calamity world set on death mode, and I can feel it's starting to get more challenging. play terraria.
I am in my first playthrough on normal mode. Still pre-hard mode. I can conveniently farm Queen Bee and the Eater of Worlds. It took so long to get to this point, veterans probably can do it in less than 1 hour but it's so fun. I am excited to see what's next. I admit I watched a few general guides because I did not feel like wasting time figuring out everything myself, just to be headed the right direction. There's so much information that it's impossible to remember it anyway - I was really surprised when the Eater if Worlds caught me off guard.. also when I asked about the curse near the dungeon :D
As someone who has beaten both the base game and pretty much all of the content mods available I will say both versions of Terraria are great in their own ways. When I'm in the mood to be more grindy I will play the base game or when I want to remove some of the tedium out of the game while still having some grind and having more bosses then I play modded. They're both incredible experiences and I have over 1,000 hours in both vanilla Terraria and Tmodloader.
I feel like it's less of the difficulty and more of the learning curve that people quit because of. That's why playing with friends is always the best first playthrough in my opinion. Your friends will tell you of new things to look for so you have an idea of progression, then from that point on, it's all up to you.
Couldn’t agree more, im playing mage and have spent almost 70-80 ish hours in prehardmode alone just builidng and doing miscellaneous stuff, even in master mode i find it easy but i started summoner for the worthy and the humbling experience was needed.
"game is hard" me and my friend who decided to go straight into expert mode for shits n giggles and now if we play on normal mode it feels boring because the challenge is gone
also about the multiclass part its not 100% true you can mix and match with weapons a melee character can always use a gun or a magic weapon if a enemy is annoying to reach
When you've played the game to completion so many times that you know literally every crafting recipe and every step of progression, all the speed run strategies and glitches, I suggest doing a calamity infernum wrath of the gods master mode for the worthy eternity run of the game as I guarantee you have never felt such pain in a video game before.
I remember when I got terraria and it took me sooo long to learn it because I didn’t know about exploring the underground and I kept trying to fight skeletron with a wooden sword and me and my brother considered the cactus sword as a op one and even with 2000 hours im just now learning how to make cool stuff
you almost certainly know but on the off chance you don't (cause you said you find stuff out from the guide) you should try putting 'for the worthy' into your seed on your next world (do mastermode)
I still remember playing terraria for the first time when i was around 6-7 back in 2013 with my friend and i WISH i could go back to not knowing basically every detail in the game, learning how to progress through the game without any tutorials is what i feel like made me love it. It took my first run almost a year to get past wall of flesh and thinking back on it feels so surreal especially when i buy it for my friends to try it and seeing the struggle so much (granted It was a little simpler when i was younger) and now current day ive beaten terraria on every device its on except the switch (that i know of) and have over 3000 hours of playtime and started a nee play through just a few hours ago, to me this game is a timeless classic with so much replayability and i really do urge as many people as possible to try it (ive spent over 150+ dollars on terraria for people this past year please help me)
This is why I LOVE downloading mods ever since i’ve 100% the game. I feel like well developed mods are my chance to run into the game blind again. That feeling of the unknown. Definitely understand where you’re coming from!
@@greencheese if you haven’t already id check out remnants mod, its not really a content mod but it completely overhauls world generation, works amazing for a vanilla playthroughs but works great with most mods, and of course starlight river is being worked on which im holding off till its a little more developed but i am so excited for it
And that’s not even mentioning the diffrent special seeds you can play on if you’re really against modding, they change the game a good bit while keeping it vanilla
This game is so good and nostaglic. The first time I played it, I couldn't beat the Wall of Flesh. I put it down for years. I try again, and I fail and fail until I win. I put it down for years. I'm back again. This might sound unimpressive, but I don't think I've ever found a game I can continually come back to and start from the start and beat it or anything, not even Minecraft. There's never nothing to do. There's different ways to play. There are so many bosses to beat. And my personal favorite part: Npcs!! I love npcs, whether or not they're of use to me. Having someone to talk to and be berated by in an expansive world and just being able to do stuff with them makes me so happy. So, like this fine gentleman, PLAY IT PLEASE, YOU'LL HAVE FUN IF YOU DON'T QUIT BECAUSE IT'S HARD, JUST KEEP TRYING PUH-LEASEEE! IT'S NOT EVEN EXPENSIVE.
I got it with my brother i did know some things because my friend told me stuff and told me to buy it and we had fun it was a little time consuming but screaming while running from a skeleton was fun just wish Playstation mods were a thing
0:56 Weel yeah, i can agree with gou. But some games are stuoidly difficult not because of skill but rather just you getting lucky like Baldi's Basics, Five Nights At Freddys, Block Blast and so many more that is stupid from the DEVELOPERS side even tho some of them are very addictive.
As someone who plays terraria alot all i have to say is that its amazing and i could play it for days if i had the power to do it (also as someone who played for 600+ hours i don't find it hard anymore so much that i changed to modded aka tmodloader to just look for a challenge)
I got this game bouta week ago, and recently beat the eye of Cthulhu, i also put the difficulty the master mode, it doesn't change the game that much right?
What the thumbnail says is the one reason you might not want to get into the game, dunno if that was the best thumbnail word choice. No, I don’t have about 6000 lifetime hours on this game. Trust.
I couldn't agree more, terraria is a masterpiece, I just reached 1,5K hours from 5 years of playing, if you want a challenge, beat duke fishron pre mech on for the worthy seed, I did it not too long ago
@@greencheesecalamity is hella fun if you're into crazy boss battles and items or just want a big epic journey with content about 3 times the size of the base game but yeah understandably it's not everyone's cup of tea.
Bro, early master mode is messing me up! The wasps do 50 damage per hit plus poison! That's a third of my health, bro! I had to start tunneling like a dwarf just to avoid zones in the jungle that had 8 too many wasps!
If you have a friend that plays Terraria, ask them to play it with you. It really helps to have someone to nudge you in the right direction and laugh with you when you discover all the silly little traps and secrets
It's 2024 and a friend of mine told me we should try this game, but I'm afraid it looks korean level grinding to me. I love games with great story and setting to play coop, like The Forest and Green Hell, but these ones with % drops and a long skill tree crafting seem too much for me. Honestly, for the price it is maybe I'll give it a try, but I'm pretty sure I won't like it.
Honestly you should hear them out, if they know what to do you guys will have fun. I recently beat the game with one of my friends who was reluctant to play it, and by the end of the playthrough we had a lot of fun. I will say the majority of the content/cool items are in the second half of the game.
the thing is, you dont have to be grindy to have fun. Sometimes you can be relaxing playing the game and you'll come across something you didnt know was rare! story wise this game doesnt necessarily have that, but there is a general sense of what exactly is going on. The crafting is fairly simple too! Nothing too intricate that you can't figure out in game.
@greencheese I already defeated all pre-hardmode bosses. Took me 70+ hours😅 Also got the Night's Edge before Skeltron. I'm almost ready😁 I always overprepare
Terraria is one of my favorite games, and I'm gonna have to disagree with you on some things.. 1. 0:55 I don't think a game necessarily has to be difficult to be fun. My family has played some really easy games (think Journey,) and really liked them. When I tried getting them to play Terraria they didn't really like it, and I would hate to tell them to stop playing games in general just because they don't like hard games. I also don't agree with your follow-up to this. Games are games because they're playable. That's all there is to it. 2. 3:54 Now this is just unrealistic. I haven't played much Terraria in probably a year or two, and I will probably only come back for the next update or to play with friends. I will, however, play Terraria 2 of course. 3. 6:14 Hard disagree on this one. Most of the time I just use whatever I get, mixing the classes together for use at the same time, even without changing my gear, prefixes, or accessories to make them more powerful. I've beaten the game this way multiple times on master mode, purposely putting myself at a disadvantage sometimes. It's honestly very fun playing the game this way in my opinion. Put simply, it's completely possible to play through the hardest game modes with mixed gear and have fun. Also EoL is easy for me. It just takes some practice.
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I definitely exaggerated in this video lol but that was to get my point across. I do think there are a lot of easy games that are fun, however nothing wrong with a good challenge! Terraria is a game that can be played in so many different ways and I love that. Again thanks for the feedback and im glad to see another class-mixing terrarian
i have like 1200 hours in that f game and i love it, you said that the game has a LOT of replayability, and its not true, its the realest shit ever. also cool asf review, loved it!
How do I convince my friend who still to this day dismisses this game as a minecraft clone even when I been telling him for YEARS this is more than what it seems.
Something funny's going on... The thumbnail suggests that the game is *addicting*, and addictions are often associated with bad things. The title tells you to embrace it. Damn man, I have never ever been enthusiastically told to become addicted to something. Okay, seriously, it's a great game and it made me play other games differently forever. It's a game like no other and I look up to Re-Logic and his team as a game developer myself. If you've never played the game, you should try play at least one run and the game will shock you with just how much content it has.
Man I love terraria. It's such a great game. You've also never felt fear if you haven't done terraria master mode large size world hardcore. This is a joke
I completely agree base Terraria is one of the best games and mods just add to that. Unlike say starbound thats just fine (or maybe it's bad because i actually really like starbound so I'm probably biased) but only becomes good with mods
I remember somehow spawning lepus on old mobile and got so scared that I dropped the game for like 8 years lmao Edit: I have almost 600 hours in this game and haven’t seen doctor bones a single time for that damn achievement
I like most of the points and your editing is nice, but a lot of tone feels pretty condescending for some reason and the video quality is very poor, even when I have it set as high as it will go in settings
Yeah ive gotten that before Lol. A lot of the footage i got was really low quality when I used it so I didnt have many options when away from my computer. Im practicing on getting my own footage so it looks nicer!

@@greencheese bro, you fought duke fishron with pre hardmode gear??? What difficulty?
this man speaks fax except for the having a mixed class it is 100% possible to defeat all the bosses
true it is possible!
if you beat the game calamity seems like a good mod when u get bored ngl but sadly i play on mobile
Calamity is good but honestly its too much for me. Theres other great mods!
@@greencheesecalamity is hella fun if you're into crazy boss battles and items or just want a big epic journey with content about 3 times the size of the base game but yeah understandably it's not everyone's cup of tea.
300+ hours on terarria never touching fishin rod for any reason but summoning duke
felt. 😭
I always mix mage into my class just for the golden showers armor cutting ability
great choice
I made a playthrough on my phone (terraria 1.2) to fight ocram and even tho its old it still has more content than other games
I miss ocram :(❤️
Bro, early master mode is messing me up! The wasps do 50 damage per hit plus poison! That's a third of my health, bro!
I had to start tunneling like a dwarf just to avoid zones in the jungle that had 8 too many wasps!
Early mastermode is rough… probably the hardest part about terraria cranked up to 100
I need to play this game again and beat it!
If you have a friend that plays Terraria, ask them to play it with you. It really helps to have someone to nudge you in the right direction and laugh with you when you discover all the silly little traps and secrets
I don’t miss running into the trapped chests
Someone sign this guy to the promotion team at Relogic 🗿
ill gladly take a spot..
I got it a week ago and found it to be quite difficult. I never quit, though. 💪
Haven't gotten to hardmode, but I am really enjoying it on Switch❤
Hey.. no rush going into hardmode. Always better over prepared than underprepared. you got this and make sure to stack up on buffs 💪🏽
@greencheese I already defeated all pre-hardmode bosses. Took me 70+ hours😅
Also got the Night's Edge before Skeltron. I'm almost ready😁
I always overprepare
Again thanks for the feedback and im glad to see another class-mixing terrarian
i have like 1200 hours in that f game and i love it, you said that the game has a LOT of replayability, and its not true, its the realest shit ever. also cool asf review, loved it!
thank you bro:)👊🏽
I finished all 115 achievements after 600 hours. Crazy
I wish I could remove from my memory 1000 hours of terraria and play it like for the first time. No wiki no videos :(
Honestly same :( But embrace what you know into your next run!!
Thenks bro :(
Not me about to destroy master mode
I like how 99% if the people watching this have hundreds of hours in the game already lol.
i play vanilla terraria and i Always play on mastermode. if i went back to normal id lose my mind with how boring it is. good video bro
normal mode is fun when you’re playing with others.. lets you finally relax lol
@@greencheese I don’t have others 😂
How do I convince my friend who still to this day dismisses this game as a minecraft clone even when I been telling him for YEARS this is more than what it seems.
send him this video😀
@@greencheese A little over a month later and we did it! Managed to get a playthrough done and we had like 5 players for the run!
@@Ujaya1990 Dude that’s awesome! Glad you were able to enjoy the game with your friends. Terraria is something you don’t miss out on!
Oh man is this game really addicting.. No shame in addiction if it’s terraria 😛
Why you NEED to try heroin!
*ADDICTING*
playing terraria while watching this
the best way to watch this
1:35 I understand it now
Man I love terraria.
Base terraria on top :)
I’ve been playing Terraria for about 9 years now.
I’m 14.
big shoutout to my brother
I wish I had that luxury… That sounds like a perfect childhood
Lit
my first playthrough took me over 100 hours, and know i can beat it in way less
now time for expert mode :)
Minecraft is for people more creative
Terraria is for people who wants just play a game (challenge ourselves)
True
TERARRIA LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
best game of all time
Bro I’ve been trying to find friends to play this game with, if you and your homie are down to start a expert world I’m down down
Once I finish this semester of school i’ll have some free time 😛
as a player with almost 5k hours i agree with this
5k hours is wild…
@@greencheese i dont go outside
interaction
psh, you cant say youve *PLAYED* terraria when you only have *400* hours..
LOL thats fair… I do also have 450 on playstation, and around 100 at least on 3DS. if that counts ;)
@@greencheese i have 2k hours combined on tmod pc and xbox
GET FIXED BOI.
actuoly more than 5000 items
I remember somehow spawning lepus on old mobile and got so scared that I dropped the game for like 8 years lmao
Edit: I have almost 600 hours in this game and haven’t seen doctor bones a single time for that damn achievement
Oh my god I remember lepus… and ocram too… great bosses I wish they were in the steam version
i have 1600+ hrs so yeah accurate
I like most of the points and your editing is nice, but a lot of tone feels pretty condescending for some reason and the video quality is very poor, even when I have it set as high as it will go in settings
Yeah ive gotten that before Lol. A lot of the footage i got was really low quality when I used it so I didnt have many options when away from my computer. Im practicing on getting my own footage so it looks nicer!
3% gang! where you at?
3% is wild😭
I LOVE YOU GREENCHEESE!!!
