I just got this light and with a orange, and glow in dark white diffuser. All I can say is WOW! the same diffuser as the s1 baton fits it. highly recommended light:):) they just keep getting better and better:)
Great review! My current EDC is a S2 Baton, but I've been looking for a smaller one for times I'm dressed more proper. On my S2, the magnet is easily removable, I imagine it would be the same for this one.
usually have my s10r on my microwave right by the door but i stuck it on the fridge the other day haha. man this is giving my eagletac's a run for the money! i edc a d25c ti and d25a ti. i prefer the slimmer and longer 14500/aa body but my d25c ti has the nichia 219b and i really like that tint. i usually have the d25a on at work, and then when i go out ill take the d25c. s10r is rarely carried for me now, but often used at home.
so funny. i am edc'ing the nichia d25c as well and its probably my favorite all time flashlight now. i do like the s1a but for edc the eagletac has it. i never really liked the stout s1 but for some reason the d25c just feels awesome. i prefer a clicky tail and although my lumintop tools are awesome they don't tail stand like the d25c. i also use my olights with magnets on the fridge and microwave ;)
the trade off between the c and the a is short fat with longer safe power, or tall, skinny with more power for less time. SOUNDS HELLA ASIAN TO ME HAHA. i rarely get accidental activation with either light. i love the pocket clips. i feel like a baller next to my skeletool, 0450, and glock 19 setup or switching out to my hk uspc and leatherman juice. sometimes pm2 or ultratech. the color tint of the nichia is beautiful though. i really hate xpl. i have so many flashlights i dont think there is a perfect one now. unless there were a 1000 lumen microstream that takes aa's, has memory mode, runs for an hour on stupid bright and wont fry and i can do it everyday, nichia 219bt tint, magnets on the tailcap i can detach... but then im tactical and fire from the hip and everything needs to take glock mags so yeah
I like the 14500 Battery in those Torches that I need or want the extra brightness. The nominal voltage is 3.7v but the actual voltage can be 4.2v, so just be sure your Torch will handle the extra Voltage.
Can you do a video/review of chargers and batteries? I'm looking at getting 14500 and 18650 batteries to go along with new S1A and S2 lights. The only rechargeable I'm familiar with are Enloop... and technology is way past that. Thanks
Do your Olights have glass covering the LED and reflector? I just bought the S1A and S1R on black friday and they do not. My only other experience with a premium light is Nitecore which has glass covering the LED and reflector.
I have Olight protected 14500 batteries and have had issues with them being too long for some lights that are advertised to take a 14500. What 14500s have you used in this light?
Easy to remove the magnet, I done it on mine, because I removed the clip, and just pocket it cause its so small. Problem was keys, it would stick, so I removed the magnet. Problem solved. :-)
+Living Survival I have an S2 Baton. I removed the clip on mine and found myself catching the light before it hit the floor. What?! It has an anti roll bezel... Well it actually does not. Figured I would say something. Oh the long nights of you tube videos. Great videos by the way. Always looking forward to the next one.
Annoying & Questions the validity of this Flashlight for EDC. Not to mention under stress to remember screw in/ the tail cap before use. I have hard time to understand this company strategy when I see the mode on S15R....2 step forward 3 step back the way I see it.
@@livingsurvival Been using this light for the last couple years, had issues with it coming on in my pocket. Started just twisting the clip to cover the button. The lack of lockout was a step backward though one of the reason why I'm going through these old reviews too see if it actually has one like the S1R

amazing how these lights just keep getting better and better...
a lot to keep up with for sure.
I buy one and something more powerful or better user interface comes out... ARGH.... where does it end?... lol
Nice review! Puuurdy cool light. Like the newer writing on the intro. Catchy and nice to change things up! Take care-
thanks, yeah it was time to change it up .
Agreed. Now that I warmed up to it, it's a neat font.
As always, great review. Still using an S1 Baton for an EDC, but I might have to change it to this just for that AA battery ease. Good stuff mate!
always nice to be able to use a standard battery if need be.
TBF, the S1's "short and fat" profile makes it the best ballcap headlamp I've ever had.
Great review! My current EDC is a S2 Baton, but I've been looking for a smaller one for times I'm dressed more proper. On my S2, the magnet is easily removable, I imagine it would be the same for this one.
yeah you can take it out i believe.

Compact n grippy.
Perfect for my flashlight belt pouch.
Sweet light, great review. It would be nice if it had the tail cap options like the Lumintop Tool.

I took the magnet out of my s1 and s2 baton, and just put the spring back in it. They still work just fine.
Nice.

Thanks
Now that is a cool light!
not my favorite, the one in my pocket is my favorite and I just got it.
+Living Survival You big tease... :-P
What is the one in your pocket?
mark s eagletac d25c nichia
can't wait for the copper version of this light
that would be sweet.
When you show the 14500's at the beginning, 1 min in, why does the nitecore show 750mAh AND 2.8Wh??
Which is the "gas tank"?
Do your Olights have glass covering the LED and reflector? I just bought the S1A and S1R on black friday and they do not. My only other experience with a premium light is Nitecore which has glass covering the LED and reflector.
Ben that's a pretty sweet light. I wish the tail cap wasn't magnetic or the company offered a choice. Olight so are solid however.
You can just remove the magnetic pill from it. On all non-R Batons, in fact.
Easy to remove the magnet...just a little clip holding it.
The "little clip" happens to be the tailcap spring :P
Yeah, so? The magnet easily comes out.
Bob B
As Tony and I said.
Nice review brother!
How about carrying this torch in a belt pouch? That would put a stop to keys etc sticking to it,....just a thought.
you can take the magnet out, I just forgot to mention that.
Personally I'd keep the magnet in there, I find it most useful on the S10 I have.
Would you prefer this brand or fenix?
I have Olight protected 14500 batteries and have had issues with them being too long for some lights that are advertised to take a 14500. What 14500s have you used in this light?
nitecore. if they are too long the light in fact probably doesn't support them.
I reached out to Olight support and they said their protected 14500s will work in the new S1A.
I hope you do know you can take the magnet out.
Yep on some.
Do you have to use the special olight 750mah 14500 or can you use a regular 800mah 14500? I know nothing about batteries. Thanks
you can use any 14500 as long as it fits.
Mecarmy PT18 or say a Olight s2 baton? looking for a new light to carry in my new EDC bag
I'm partial to the S2 myself. It's just sweet.
looks like i am leaning that way.
Very very good !!
it would be cool if they offered a replacement end cap that was non magnetic
you can take the magnet out.
2:27 You are not aware that you can easily remove the magnet from the tailcap on any olight?!?
He just forgot to mention it.
doest it come with the glow in the dark ring
nope
Living Survival Where did you get it?
Is water proof ?
Dove si compra non riesco a trovare questo modello !!!
How long does the 14500 burn in Turbo?
I want one too!
Does it have a lockout ?
i was trying to figure that out too. my other olights have a lockout when you hold done the botton. did you figure out if it has a lockout?
you have tocarry this on a pouch , because it come out of your jeans pocket really easy
I dont understand your reasoning for not liking the magnetic cap for edc. Im slow lol
it sticks to everything in my pocket. you can remove the magnet though. i just prefer tail clicky.
I get it now. I didnt know you can take that cap off. You shouldve showed us that in the video maybe you did and i just missed it lol
i didn't my bad. and you just take the magnet out and screw the cap back on.
Thats a pretty cool feature. Idk if other magnetic lights can do that
cuanto cuesta la linterna
50 dólares.
la venden en Colombia?
Andres Tovar No que lo sepa. Solo he visto Olight en sitios chineses como Banggood, Gearbest y HKEquipment.
Lastima la quería comprar
Andres Tovar
Lo siento.
Olight really needs to bring this back.... Why would they discontinue this light? It's so much better than their i5t AA light..... Stupid Olight
Dang! This Flash Light is cheap! but doesn't have enough Lumens for me! ill just go with the fenix uc30.
another good choice tho.
definitely!
Easy to remove the magnet, I done it on mine, because I removed the clip, and just pocket it cause its so small. Problem was keys, it would stick, so I removed the magnet. Problem solved. :-)
600 lumens...really?
with a 14500 yep. it does step down after 1 minute though.
It's not anti roll.
umm...what?
+Living Survival I have an S2 Baton. I removed the clip on mine and found myself catching the light before it hit the floor. What?! It has an anti roll bezel... Well it actually does not. Figured I would say something. Oh the long nights of you tube videos. Great videos by the way. Always looking forward to the next one.
like
Yeah, Olight did take out the best mode....the lockout mode....simply stupid....and definitely no pocket friendly
unscrew the tail cap even a hair and you are locked out :)
