My mother would probably want to adopt all of them and she is a white German lady. Her godson is Asian and some people are for some reason kind of weirded out by it but neither of us ever cared or understood what is weird about my mother being the godmother of her Vietnamese friends son.
We've know her and her family for about 20 years now and she could be of any faith she wanted and we would still see her and her kids as part of our family too. Her older daughter is my age, the son is 18 or 19 now if I remember correctly.

Belinda Ginete I am being positive sweetie...I do believe that folk can change, and that sometimes, it's the grandkids that help that change to take place. My mom couldn't make change for me because she lacked the tools necessary to do so...However, she turned over a new leaf for grandsons and that made room for us to heal. But before all of that, my mother's toxicity was so bad, I cut her off...No one deserves this kind of treatment and so, for sanity's sake, they are doing EXACTLY what is necessary for themselves and their chil...They went above and beyond for their parents acceptance, and ALL they got in return was more animosity...They owe their parents nothing else at this point, I pray it works out but they have the right to be happy, not verbally/emotionally abused.

Just found this video. I have never commented on a video before! Blessing to your family!! The baby is adorable!! I am a sixty year old mother of four adult children. My husband and I have been married for forty years. We have no grandchildren! We raised our children with religion and our culture but always told them they could love whom ever they love. We didn't care what race gender religion etc. Our oldest son is in the military. He and his wife married for twenty years. Second son married for sixteen years. Both are happy with helping our community. Our two youngest are girls and live at home helping out my parents who are in their eighties! We of course would love to have grandkids!!! But we are so proud of our kids and the choices they have made. Your parents should be ashamed!!! How sad they are missing your lovely family!! Blessings and prayers to you all!

The word that's even more so important in today's era.
My wife is a Filippino and I am a singaporean Chinese. My mom doesn't really agree with our marriage too and would initially often comment to me derogatory remarks about my wife. After 11 years together with my wife, one thing for sure, I don't regret my marriage.
Regarding the differences between the adult child and his/her parent, I agree that some elderly are just really stubborn. My experiences with my mom has taught me that not all issues can be resolved. Not all issues need to be resolved.

My mom disowned me because I chose to move back with my dad after living with her for a year when they divorced. She labeled me a traitor. I was 13 and am 23 now. Begged her for years to be in my life. Seen her 4 times in 10 years. Completely toxic she missed out on the times in my life I needed a mom the most. Don’t even try anymore with her. Haven’t in years. Best decision I’ve ever made. I’m not missing out. My dad bent over backwards being both parents. Sometimes your parents can just be bad news. I'm so late to this video. I converted to Islam 7 years ago. My mom (a conservative Christian) basically turned cold towards me and things haven't been the same. I'm saying that because parent's love for their children should always be unconditional above religion and all things. You did the right thing by not responding to your father, we can only do so much but you have a life to live with your husband and baby and can not allow your father's personal religious views and opinion dictate your life nor can Justin. Our parents are set in their ways, grew up without a lot of variances to their religion and culture so change is hard for them. I'm old enough to be both your parent's and my mom is old enough to be your grandmother, it says a lot about just how little changes from generation to generation until those of us make a decision to step outside of familial culture and religious norms.
Remember this, we live our lives for ourselves, not our parents. Love is unconditional and when conditions are placed, its the problem of the person(s) who places those conditions. Live your lives to the fullest and show your daughter the unconditional love that you would want from your parents.
Lastly, your parents love you, it may take them years or a decade to come around but they eventually do. If not, you have each other.

My sister did the same thing
She was secretly married because she knew my mom would never accept the fact
she was married to a Christian especially a Nigerian who she hasn't had a good mix with
She wanted the best for my sister so she wouldn't make the same mistake as her
But then my sister was pregnant she tried to ask my mom for a blessing to have a traditional wedding, not the papers she had signed. It took my mom a year after my nephew's birth to finally see her grandson (always loved him but was hurt by my sister)
Day by day we get to see them my mom is allowing the traditional wedding
Their relationship is getting stronger by the more they both try
My sister tried her best even when our mom didn't respond
keep trying and one day things will be better for whoever is going through the same thing

I've have many friends who are biracial from various races.when their parents met in the military. Some grandparents had a change of heart while others never did. The strong family bond between the biracial family with supportive friends created the most amazing adults. The grandparents who were close-minded lost out.

The interactions I have seen from Justins Mom (only 2 ) and your Dad shows me how much they want to express their love for you and how precious you are to them. I'm glad you listened to your heart. Sometimes parents don't know what's best for thier kids. I was dating a man in college and yes he was going to make alot of money. He was a horrible person who was a cheater and a jerk. I decided not to stay with him and left him soon after. My mom was upset cause he would have given me a nice life. No he wouldn't have. Years later I met a good honest hard working man who would go on to treat me with kindness and respect. My mother was not happy cause he couldn't afford a huge house.
