    Watching this, I feel like Sumail is a professor in Dota 2, the researcher kind of professor, the ones that do not have the best way to explain something, but he is really good at it. It feels like he’s on a completely different level.

    The thing that I'm impressed about Sumail's explanation is that he doesn't focus on his own playstyle or just that particular game, he just boils it down the very detail of DOTA itself. Such insane understanding of the game, no wonder he's a genius of his own art.

    Its really fascinating how sumail doesn't really think about "mid". He constantly thinks about the game as a whole from minute 1 and everything just comes together nicely, its really beautiful. He could potentially contest the small camp as Lina. It’s a very common move, if you’re winning lane, you contest the small camp, which forces the enemy to go deeper into the jungle, and then missing out on any lane creep CS and exp whatsoever. It’s a bit riskier because because the enemy supports can try to punish this move with a rotation, but you can just check the miniMap to see if they’re in lane, and it’s not like you’re diving under tower, so it’s not super risky.

    Regarding it being inaccessible, I think that if we view what Sumail is saying as similar to studying literature in your university class, we know it takes reflection and interpretation to understand. It's this assumption that everything should be immediately accessible without thinking and without knowledge, but this just isn't going to be the case when you're trying to get into the head of how a master understands something.
    Beginners should be happy if they are able to implement just 1 thing he suggests and the rest is about coming back to the video and thinking about it over and over.

His choice to TP bot was justified, being unable to defend against SS+Bane in mid, and probably hoping to cancel TP's on the 2 dire pushing RB1. The only other option would be TP to RT1 to create a 1v4 at DT1. WD went bot because he was confident DT1 would fall if he could stall in bot. WD's mistake was losing vision on Nyx and allowing his teleport to DO.

    When SumailL says something in the game, most of players in most situations listen to him. And yet, not all the times (Kotl example). He speaks from his position and it seems he has not put himself on the shoes of those paying for his masterclass. Hot take: Mids, depending on hero type played in given game, should change "Pos".
    Ex. QoP mid? YOU choose to be 3rd in farm prio (pos3). You're offlane is now pos 2. Enable him and his game.
    Mid Examples: You're tinker? Okay stay pos 2 and so your thing.
    Sf? Pos 2, get that farm
    Dk? Yeah 2
    MidCM? Vspirit? SB? LET'S GO! YOU'RE NOW Pos 3 (even 4? Enable your ganking 4's ((soft support)) game? Give him mid a bit maybe?)
    What do ya'll think?

  • @soundphile988
    @soundphile988 2 года назад +2

    This is super interesting as a morphling player for me. Morphling is kinda even worse off against sf than void spírit, because morph has less rightclick damage, less nukes, less movementspeed than sf in lane. So basically the only way you can really win against a mid SF is when he does mistakes or really just plays bad. Other than that mid SF is pretty much stronger in every aspect than morph in the first few levels. So this might apply also for my morphling plays in the future, I'd just rather focus on regen items(maybe even mobility, like a windlace) and generally "damage control" by not feeding and still getting as much farm out of it as possible.

    The gamers class from Sumail is great for divine and legend players or even immortals.
    For low mmr player like me it is nothing because the things I am weak at are mechanical stuff

    • @zbway57
      @zbway57 2 года назад +11

      It may seem like that, but if your sense of the game and your movements and decisions are correct, your mechanical shortcomings will matter less and less. Obviously mechanics are needed to improve but if you are making correct map moves and decisions you will find you are put in less mechanically demanding situations far more often than having to miracle yourself out of a jam. Just my thoughts as a player in low divine who started down in the trench back in 2013. I gained a decent amount of MMR from improving my mechanics, organizing all hotkeys properly, learning control groups, quickcast, Adv. options needed to be more efficient, farm practice etc. but I started seeing regular rise and consistent >50% WR when I started focusing on the whole game and what i was doing with my time. BSJ talks about it a lot in his videos but i think breaking the game down to 1 minute segments and understanding it in 1 minute batches is the easiest way to gain MMR at low levels. Youll find yourself being in the right spot with the right tools to help more and more often.

      I forget who said it…most likely BSJ or Jenkins… but you can go as far as 4-5k MMR with shit mechanics but have a complete understanding of the game

      I have bad mechanical skills.
      My hands are just slow.
      I admit it, so I improved other area like decision making.
      I reached immortal by playing easy heroes like bloodseeker and Luna. I can only play those 2 heroes.
      If I play other heroes, it looks like I'm herald

    mid is like a pos 4. you need to have the same mindset and that is to look for the best opportunity. im main pos 4 and i play mid when with my friends. the only difference is that their timing since mid farms and pos 4 dont.

    dude its true, i think most crucial role in dota is mid, u remember the saying "ez mid ez game". mid role is the first to hit level 6 timing etc. mid wants to rotate also need to farm so this role is kinda nutz.

    So he react based on support action and try playing on team tempo which is great.
    I wonder what happen when the supps also have this kind of mindset, waiting and acting based on their core. And when you have both core and supp with similar mind i just imagine they are having mexican standoff inside their imagination, waiting each other to take action lol
