To be fair, Ursaluna is finally the first bear Pokémon after over 25 years to be quadrupedal by nature instead of bipedal like Ursaring, Beartic, Pangoro and Urshifu. That by its self is weirdly refreshing to me ^^

An update! or BFC! (Bonus Fact Comment) I have learned that "Iroquois" is technically a slur, and I apologize for that. Many official sources still use it to this day, hense my ignorance. They rarely use the term themselves, and use "Haudenosaunee“ instead. Iroquois translates as "snake people” and was used by Algonguins -a rival nation- as a derogatory way of referring to them. I guess when the foreigners moved in and started documenting all the 'tribes' they used an Algonguin source to get the names of many, and it just sort of stuck. Pretty unfortunate.

10:29 For the record, in case any one wants to evolve their Ursaring, you don't have to do so in the Crimson Mirelands.
It evolves with a Peat Block under the Full Moon in any of the 5 major areas (and even the Ancient Retreat and Jubilife Village).
It's just that the Sludge Mound in the Crimson Mirelands is a really good spot for watching for the Full Moon.
Better than the Moonview Arena, ironically.

I don’t know why I keep hearing that same method to evolving Ursaing into Ursaluna in the video. Like you mentioned someone literally needs a full moon, any of the areas work so as long as you got the peat block. But it’s not the first time I’ve heard this and I’m kinda wondering why that’s been spread around that you need to do it in the Crimson Mirelands or in that area bit specifically Moonview Arena during a full moon. Because this misinformation for Ursaluna is honestly a bit widespread and it’s really confusing on why.

From what I've heard of the Ursa minor/major constellation Zeus apparantly grabbed the bears by their tail, swung them around like bear bola's, and chucked them into the sky to become the constellations they are today. Their tails stretched out thanks to this weird ascension method. Dunno if it's true or not, but it's pretty funny nonetheless

I live in Canada, so I grew up with the Iroquois version of the legend, and it is by far my favourite one. The three hunters set off to kill the massive bear that has been terrorizing their village. when they find it, the bear runs. The hunters chase the agile bear so fast for so long that they eventually end up in the sky, explaining why the constellation is there. About once a year, the hunters are finally able to hit the bear with an arrow or two, and the blood drips down onto the earth. turning the trees leaves red and causing them to fall, and autumn begins.
Edit: now that I think about it, although a huge stretch, ursaluna’s red shiny could be a reference to the blood that recolours the leaves.

Here in Canada, we learn about many Iroquois legends, and the reason why the constellation has a long tail is a legend. According to it, many years ago, bears had long tails and would constantly brag about it. This annoyed Fox. The fox, the mischievous animal of the forest, tells bear if he uses his tail in the hole of a freezing lake, a huge fish will bite it and let bear pull it up with his tail and would feed him for years. Bear believed this and sat with his tail in the cold water for days. Eventually, the hole froze over his tail and if bear didn’t want to starve he had to rip part of his tail off. He never bragged again.

Interestingly enough it was the German company Steiff to popularize the stuffed animal toy: Margarete Steiff was a seamstress that in 1880 started selling pincushions shaped like animals, the first model being an elephant-shaped one. Children used them as toys however and that's why she decided to sell them as such. Her nephew Richard gave the company an huge boost creating stuffed animals from drawings he made at the zoo. He designed a bear stuffed animal in 1902, several months before and indipendently from Michtom in New York. Then the whole Teddy Bear craze started and the rest is history. By 1907 Steiff manufactured 974,000 bears, while Michtom founded the Ideal Novelty and Toy Company, later Ideal Toy.

Ancient Bears actually split into the families of modern canines AND bears...
    Bear-Wolves were terrifying.
Take a bear, give it the hunting capabilities, pack mentality, and fangs & claws of a wolf, and you have the makings of the biggest predatory mammals to roam the earth...

The part about Ainu taking in bear cubs to raise as one of their own reminds of how Mai said that she and Munchlax were raised together as siblings. I assume that's supposed to be indicative of the native's philosophy regarding Pokémon in general, but they did choose another bear Pokémon to serve as an example of that.

A little more about the fact that so many different cultures see the Bear constellations in the sky. There is a lot of hypothesis that it's not that different cultures all decided that this was a bear in the sky, but that for literal tens of thousands of years, people have considered that constellation to be a bear. You are meant to ring the bells to ward any nearby bears away. This is likely one of the factors in why there are so few modern bear attacks... That and how several of the mountainous areas, where most activity is highest, are now mostly ruins thanks to modernization. A few locals still live in those areas, but most left when the dams were constructed.

I would personally say it’s the strongest new mon in PLA aside from the Legendaries. It was the star of my team throughout my whole run and I wouldn’t have been able to crush Volo to the ground without it.
