    The ultimate high satiety diet for me is carnivore with an occasional avocado or some berries a couple of times in season. I don't buy the idea of fiber being high satiety. Fiber to me is just bloat inducing. I think a lot of people are so conditioned to eat fiber that they can't distinguish between actual satiated fullness and bloating.

      Fiber is undigestible matter due being made of cellulose. Yes the right word is bloat, it’s not true satition, your digestive tract doesn’t even digest it, it’s just a hard mesh to make compact turds lol

      I had the same thoughts when i went carnivore. But, its not fiber etc, its the grains. Cut out all grains and youre good. I highly recommend you to include potatoes. To me, potatoes filled the role i was craving on carnivore. Absolutely NO boosting, i have been struggling with boosting all my life and finally it all came together. Grains are shit for you, but in every food on the market.

    • @robinbeers6689

      @@vandpiben I agree that potatoes are less bad for you than grains but that still doesn't mean they are good. Way too many carbs and too few nutrients. I would rather skip the potato and have seconds on the meat.

    75 lbs down so far in 4 months eating just meat. Waist has shrunk 13 inches from 45 to 32! High satiety meals are the way for sure. I eat one 1500-2000 calorie meal once a day around 5pm-6pm and am pretty much never hungry, unless I get into the beverages with artificial sweeteners. Something about them seems to make me hungry sooner. I think it's probably the artificial sweetener causing a Ghrelin surge but I'm no medical expert. I just fight through the 10 minutes of hunger but I notice I don't get them on days where I stick to coffee/tea and water for beverages.

  • @loisweinsaft2894
    @loisweinsaft2894 Год назад +2

    Way too complicated. Even your language makes little sense. Higher satiety - no obvious meaning or pronunciation; lower energy dense - it took me a while to figure out that you mean high fiber or high water content; hedonic - what? most of us don't know what you mean which I think are sweet carbs. And grams and kilos mean nothing to Americans. I think you've created a clunky solution where there wasn't a problem. What percentage of your members or audience complained about keto (which used to be called low carb which used to be called Atkins). Keto was simpler language. I would appreciate an easier explanation with easy language. I think you mean keto with less fat.

  • @billb5732
    @billb5732 2 года назад +42

    Yes. If we think about what nutrients we _must_ consume, it's mostly protein, a little bit of EFAs, and electrolytes. It turns out that high satiety is synonymous with high nutrition.
    Meat, eggs, small fatty fish, maybe some cheese for calcium. Supplement electrolytes.
    Everything else is optional calories.

      Hmmm. Nah. Sure they have the nutrients but not in proper ratios. Many carnivores are reporting histamine intolerance due to zinc and copper ratios being off. Carnivore is heavy zinc, low copper. This is a problem! Copper is needed for DAO production that breaks down histamine!

    • @billb5732
      @billb5732 2 года назад

      @@cw9007 Probably, but unproven. It appears that vitamin C requirements are reduced when one does not eat plants, and there are small amounts of C in meat, especially organ meats.
      in 1930, Stefansson stayed locked in to a hospital room for a year. He ate muscle meat, eggs, butter, bone marrow, brain, and fat. No signs of any nutrient deficiency, including scurvy.
      Other carnivores have eaten mostly muscle meat and eggs for years without scurvy or other signs of deficiency.

    I think there is such an emotional attachment to eating habit/diet that people find it very difficult to understand that there is not one size fits all. Especially when people struggled for a long time with their eating habits and then finally finds a diet that works for them they will only see that diet like the one that everyone should follow yo achieve what they have achieved. It became an emotional attachment to the diet rather then the diet itself.. people chill out, relax and undestand that we are all different humans 😘

      Thankfully, when I was growing up, my parents fed me high quality foods, then when I could choose and eat my own foods, when I was older, I now always eat healthy, it's natural for me. The younger years in life are the most crucial to eating healthy high satiety foods, since your microbiome is still developing. The healthier your microbiome, the less cravings for any food, especially junk food.

    Great video. One thing I don't agree with is giving up the high hedonic foods. Psychology plays a huge role in diet. Eating what one wants is very important. We don't only want these because they taste good but also because they remind us of childhood sweets. I grew up in a poor country, very traditional, no fast foods. We ate lots of fruits, vegetables, and fermented foods. But in the evening, we always had fried potatoes and fried meat. We had that every single evening. I turned 25 and moved to the US. I remember visiting my boyfriend's family. His cousins were all cheerleaders. I say that because cheerleaders care more about how they look than the average person. I remember everybody was looking at me because they had never seen such clear skin and shiny hair. So fried foods in a traditional country is not the same as fried foods in the US. Eating fried foods in the evening helped us recover from the hard day and relax in time for sleep. Probably thats why french people can eat a lot and not get fat, just because its called food, it doesnt mean is the same.

    I do higher-satiety eating. It's mostly strict carnivore with an emphasis on fatty animal foods. But I also do it with OMAD where the one meal means all I can eat within a few hour period. I can down a lot of food in that time, sometimes several pounds. Then I fast for the rest of the day and feel fine.
    It's certainly not a low-calorie diet. The main thing is it's nutrient-dense. I don't think it's a coincidence that nutrient-dense foods are also satiating, as the essential nutrients are all found in fatty animal foods.

    All the definitions I have seen suggests satiety is both a feeling of being pleasantly full, and satisfied. It is therefore a human ‘state’, or perhaps more accurately the interaction of a human and food. Is it 100% physiological? I doubt it, and believe there is also an important psychological component. So I feel concerned with what seems like an attempt to objectify satiety, and claim it as a property of food itself. Haven’t we got to be very concerned with how foods ‘suit’ people, and encourage that individual learning? And to consider the complex psychology involved in food addiction and eating disorders? I am doubtful about a land grab for the label ‘satiety’ when satiety can be achieved in m any different ways for different people.

    8:42 ummmm, portato chips are 57% calories coming from fat, and french fries are at least 59% calories coming from fat. not carbs. people overeat those because when you dehydrate a perfectly HEALTHY carb like, a potato, it loses water, fiber, weight, and volume. fry them in pure fat and you have a much hyper-palatable food that's super light in weight, energy dense, and not filling as opposed to a regular potato. so no, its not the carbs that are the problem.

Always watch my sugar intake. For me low carb is a changing way of eating. I eat to be healthy and thus I lost weight. But unless you eat whatever you want, whenever you want, how much you want, all “diets” are restricting. Vegan, vegetarian, kosher, Mediterranean, carnivore, low fat, ornish, Atkin. @@Sarahizahhsum Just because you eat a lot processed sugar and maintain your weight doesn't mean you are healthy!!!! What does maintaining your weight mean? Do you weigh 400lbs???
      Nutrition is and ISN'T about eating calories. This is the old school nutritional thinking, calories in equal calories out, eat less move more, that has got so many people fat and obese. A Calorie is simply a unit of energy end of. It does not indicate a food's nutritional value. Did you not understand what he was saying about foods that have high levels of satiety eg protein and healthy fats? Sugar and carbs do NOT do this. They are like addictive drugs you just eat more and more and more, and are not satiated. You'll end up ultimately with T2 diabetes and all the other health problems that diabetes causes.

      Most of the protein we eat doesn’t get burned for energy- that’s actually quite a toxic state for the body- so the calories from it are not ever correct. We use it for building and repair. Same with fat. The only macro that goes purely to calories is carbohydrate fuel.

    Ketogenic diets can be excessive in fat and raise triglycerides. This is also a problem with high carbohydrate diets. The excess carbohydrates get turned into triglycerides.
    When a ketogenic diet is high in saturated fat from butter, coconut oil, and animal fat, your LDL particles can increase.
    When a ketogenic diet is high in omega-6s from nuts and seeds, it can suppress your immune system, cause cancer, and inflame your arteries.
    Even children on a ketogenic diet to treat epilesy using olive oil had an increased amount of triglycerides.
    If you eat more fat than you can burn, they will get stored as body fat and linger as triglycerides.
    This can cause insulin resistance and diabetes.
    Calorie restriction regardless of eating window is needed to allow the body to use up body fat, organ fat, and triglycerides.
    And to maintain caloric balance, satiety is crucial so that you do not keep thinking about food.
    It's like drinking water. If you are thirsty, drink water, not sweetened beverages. Once you quench your thirst, your body will shut down its thirst signals so you do not overdrink.

    • @heidikindon5182
      @heidikindon5182 2 года назад +2

      No, excess carbohydrate increases insulin demand, creating massive inflammation. This is what drives triglyceride production to try to smooth over the roughened inflamase places in our arteries. Carbs don’t ‘turn into’ triglycerides.

      I think the key point is omega 6/linoleic acid. It is essential, but only in very small amounts. In big/unnatural amounts it is pro oxidative, pro inflammatory, toxic and nutrient deficient. Biggest problem is the vegetable oils. Search youtube for Chris Knobbe for great presentations about seed oils.

    • @TimoRajala
      @TimoRajala 11 месяцев назад

      Also, almost all olive oils are diluted with cheap seed oils. It’s an easy way to make more profit. Even pure olive oil contains a relatively high amount of omega 6.

      @@sportysbusiness too much SFA in the human diet is bad for your ApoB. the only SFA exception is in stearic acid form which is in things like dark chocolate. but overall its a non-essential fatty acid compared to actual essential fatty acids like DHA, ALA, EPA (Omega 3's) and polyunsaturated. a Mediterranean-style keto diet would be a lot healthier
