Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to RUclips videos for each track). I've always loved this one. The pair of them goading Karl into calling up, then he destroys Steve over the phone. Brilliant.

this is easily one of my favourite episodes, ricky getting angrier and angrier throughout the episode and the ridiculous lengths they go to like leaving the entire show on his phone as a message and giving out his phone number one at a time is so funny. and the climax with karl calling through and insulting steve is a top 5 moment of the XFM shows for me
This time around the carousel I decided to listen to the Claire shows, they are actually really good, wish I had given her a chance earlier.
Danny King you mean you wish you’d given the shows in which she features a chance. Claire herself offers less than nothing.
Disagree with that. Claire has good chemistry with Steve and Ricky, she really gets their humour. The Ian Camfield episode isn't half as good as any of the Claire episodes
In episode 18, when Karl mentions that he's going to buy his parents passports for Christmas, Steve asks "you don't got to buy a passport, have you? Isn't that your god given right as an Englishman?" He actually should have paid attention and listened to Karl that day.

Karl phoning in sick is such an iconic moment! So many great lines.
Wow the inception of one the greatest sitcoms and the story behind it! It's great to hear these shows in retrospect when Ricky and Steve were creating Extras, The Office (American version) etc.
Karl says “it had a normal voice” as a dig against Steve’s accent, but the greatest thing is the fact the alien in the film doesn’t even HAVE any dialogue.

I often open my RUclips and spend ages scrolling through all my subscriptions looking for something to watch/listen to, before finally circling back around to this twaddle. ❤

Very true! I used to skip them too! But now, I will listen to anything with Ricky, Steve, or Karl.
While they are not in my *top* faves, I find them to be highly enjoyable! (;

I've been listening for years and now it looks like I'll get a brand new episode with a Karl cameo.
I really don't get all the hate for Steve... His jokes are always excellent as well.
+KubbsWickedSoul Steve does pull some great ones out of the bag. And he's a good sport with all the goggle eyed stuff.
Because some of the things he says are really twatish. He is the wittiest of the 3 of them though, because he always plucks the best jokes out of thin air.

Ricky's disdain for Karl in this show is surely routed in his love for him, how dare Karl miss a show with Ricky! I personally think Ricky was heartbroken he didn't get to see him that Saturday :P xD

I do enjoy the odd episode with Sturgess
+Stephen Quinn Sturgess isn't even in her episodes too much, the majority of the Sturgess episodes are Ricky and Steve just having a laugh but people love skipping non-Karl episodes.
+Stephen Quinn I skipped her episodes for more than a year. Now I find them such a nice little change of pace. I would have genuinely enjoyed at least one episode with all four of them.

Am I one of the only people who never skipped a Claire episode, even on my first time listening? Sure I understand why people do it thought, because no KP. I think the Claire episodes are under appreciated.
Nope, I never skipped these episodes either. I'm as much a fan of Gerv and Smerch as I am of Karly Pilkboys, and the episodes with Claire are packed with hilarious anecdotes and mick-taking. Plus Claire is a welcome presence. She offers her own humour every now and then.
I don't think I ever did. I listen to these shows for Steve and Ricky as much as I do Karl so I always enjoy the Claire episodes. The remind me of the early days of the show where Karl didn't speak much and Ricky and Steve had to carry the show.

I love Ricky and Steve, but I feel for Claire because they keep talking over her. I don't think they do it maliciously, but it's definitely not the same way they would treat a guest who is a guy.
