Hey guys, sorry for pinning this comment on all videos but I want to give you an update on the channel. I've been slowly adding a show archive to the videos including a full transcript added as sub titles and a full track listing (with links to RUclips videos for each track). Pilkipedia archive link has been added as well and I've been having fun illustrating some of KP's best bits, I'm adding these to a shop incase anyone is interested: www.man-moth.com/ It's taking me a while to update the archives, especially as I don't work Mondays so please bear with me as I chip away at it. Lots of love, Man Moth.
Happy holidays, ManMoth. I've had the Ricky Gervais Show bug for many years, but COVID has finally caught me; listening to these is helping with the isolation. Thanks for the update and all your work; wishing good health to you and yours.
Thanks manmoth, much appreciated.
Ooooooetydtv
"Why? to confuse a computer" "Old man 'avin a Twix" and "Wet-Knee Houston" are all from this episode. incredible!
One of the greatest!
"Last one to the moons a bender" is single handedly the funniest quote for me. Makes me laugh out loud every time
'Homeless person called me a dickhead'
'How did he know?'
“Then we make Ricky 2” might be one of Steve’s best one liners.
Literally was about to type that exact sentence 😂
Ricky’s “God?!” comeback to Karl’s story about the head guy coming round is one of my favourite lines of the series. Hahaha!
The riffing they do on the crusaders is prob my favourite of any episode
- it's like a timeshare thing
Love how Karl went from bragging that he was the best paperboy for years in his area to admitting that he used to just bin the papers 🤦♂️😂
Knicking Mars bars every day and just binning the papers lol but he was his best employee
its so funny
Ricky used this bit in afterlife
While I don't think he was a very good paperboy and if you rang those people after 10 years, they won't remember how great it was, but I do need to defend Karl here. When he says that he says the free paper round. I think he was delivering junk mail at some point as well as his normal paper round
I think Karl delivered the newspapers. He was talking about throwing the free papers away.
As long as I have these I will always be happy. THIS is what I would take on my desert island! Forget a dictionary, forget a book of art. I’d take all of these shows and the podcasts.
Yes!
Take a dictionary as well so you can have a good little chat with yourself
@TheDissidentBrit none of this now needed. Baby dead.
Bag of Revels
This has to be one of the all time greats this episode, full of classics
I'll bacon in the morning if you're sick of avin me around
There goes "The pasty" being stretchered off 😂
They’re probably round there now - “Is he coming tomorrow?”
Cracks me up every time 😂
The whole 'putting why into a search engine to confuse a computer' discussion is one of the funniest 5 minutes in broadcasting history
Yeah and Karl strongly continuing to his point leaving Ricky struggling to breathe, brilliant.
Samuel Eldridge a
Beet Man. You're a no nonsense beet taking out the trash.
XD Yeah!!!!
I’d love to see Karl with ChatGPT
Karl's line to the Big Issue guy was genius.
haven't you got a home to go to?
18:20 "The 'ead fella started comin' 'round knockin' on the door" "...God?!"
"He's everywhere, Rick"
Charlie says
Why did he knock?
53:36 LOVE this part so much, such a primal response to Karl reaching for the button :D
To this day I've never seen an old man eating a twix
Thats the first thing im gonna do when im old just to prove him wrong
"And you nehhhh-verrr --
Seer --
An old man --
Eat a --
MAAAAAAAAAAAAA-UHHHHHHHHHHHRS --
BAH BAH BAH!"
Werther's a will, there's a way
neither have I. Still never seen an old lady eat pizza either.
It doesn't look right
"In what way is telling me that Brian Blessed shit himself once in any way educational?"
One of the best lines of all the shows!
This ain't for you so f off
It played havoc with his belly and he followed through!
But he might not shit himself this time!!
Steve is so underrated
and lanky
Weeeee know it's you merchant,
No he isn't, he's been rated the 'most unlikely lust object', by some minging swingers in a magazine that Karl read.
........man alive
He's arbitrary.
EXECUTIVE DECISION! Steve is great in this episode
I love when Steve reads out the prizes and bigs up a shite film.
Love smerch
I reckon he’s great in every episode he really ties things together man. And isn’t shy to smutty dumb humour either 😁
Youre the best man moth, i listen to one of these at random each day
At random!
Arbitrarily you mean
I've listened to these so many times and I catch new little jokes they say quickly each time.
Karl: he had a mini and he had three of us in the back...
Ricky: is that a record?
ryan furlong I just picked up on that too thanks to your comment Ryan 🤣
Haitch
Maybe I'm just super stupid- can someone explain the joke? American listener, if it's a UK thing.
@@JustinKlineTheComedian Bit random being a year later but a Mini Cooper (a type of car) is incredibly small. Ricky was quipping that having 3 in the back of a mini must be some kind of record.
@@BigPMitchell Got it. Thanks so much. I was confused because I thought ‘record’ meant a song, since that’s how they usually use it.
'How did he know?' always cracks me up
Steve was really funny this episode especially the first 3 mins. “You pinched his arse”
"..Homeless person called me a 'dickhead'" haha.
"How did he know?" is my favourite part
So funny, and well deserved unfortunately! XD Where was Bullshit Man when he needed him? ;p

OmikronWeapon thank you! I need one of these lists for all the videos!
It's Missing Elliot actually
I don't remember them ever bringing it up in future episodes, but after Ricky won his boxing match the Telegraph ran the headline, "Rocky Gervais has a knockout paunch"
Last one to the moons a bender!
WollongongWacko Merch at his finest 👍
The space race in a nutshell 😂
Stephen characterizing the woman who allegedly pinched his bottom as “fairly old” because she seemed to be in her mid-thirties is really something.
What he means is, she does her own shopping.
@@cathycalls8773 those chocolate muffins are hard to resist...
Huh, I heard it as fairly young.
"You've been going to church???? That's not how we brought you up!"
I still maintain that Ricky should have been called Ricky 'Rockbuster' Gervais
Ricky 'The Pudding' Gervais is the best choice by far
@@kitpalmer1583 What about 'Toadrage'
@@kitpalmer1583 almost forgot
Ricky Gipo Gervais hahahahaha
Ricky 'The Pasty' Gervais
"There he is being lightly basted..."
I love the lilt in his voice when he says that. Very Lindauer's Sparkling Wine.
Aww I love Karl, the joke Steve made about being in the Crusades went right over his little round head 😆
'You know what happened to me in the week?'
'Homeless person called me a dickhead.'
😂😂😂 caught me off guard that
Karl: “Alright then. Put it in a bowl first.”
Ricky: “Genius...”
So true. Karl’s response is absolutely brilliant.
"There goes the pastie being stretchered off"....
"..having been lightly roasted.." :D
Kmd 1973 weird how i only heard this joke for the first time now after listening to the entire show 30+ times
"Big Mac, the pastie, the pudding...I'm sensing a theme here.."
I've listened to the whole series round probably about 7 or 8 times at this point, and I think I've come to the conclusion that this episode is my favourite of the lot. It's when Karl really starts to show some of his absurd opinions and ideas and gets really out of hand. Steve is a lot funnier in this ep too and Ricky as always is hysterical and his reactions to every single thing Karl says is the best. He can't even believe the things coming out of his mouth.
the one Man Moth’s got labeled as ‘paul shits the bed’ is one of the best too
I love how it’s a bowl and not a cup. Like a cat 🐈
11:40 "And there goes The Pasty being stretchered off" 😂
I think this is definitely my favourite episode. Bent over laughing several times, so ridiculous.
20 years later and I’ve still never seen an old man eating a Twix
I’m struggling a bit with knowledge 😂
I scrolled over your comment exactly as Karl said that!!
@@WogansNotDead hahahah legendary
At last he confesses
The dandy Warhols one is brilliant
I love the fact that Ricky was four weeks away from the charity boxing match and still had no idea how the show would actually benefit charities. Says a lot about the celebrity charity circus.
To be fair it’s not like he was acting like he was doing it just for charity all along. He made it clear he was doing it because he thought it would be fun.
“How is telling me Brian Blessed shit himself education?” Gotta be one of the funniest stand alone lines I’ve ever heard
My favorite part of this episode is visualizing Steve’s comment about the vicar climbing onto huge firework and saying ‘last one to the moon’s a bender’
throws it back in his face “Get me a twix, and a damn curly wurly, Grandad! You old fool!”
Today I actually saw an old man eating a Twix for the first time in my life. Only kidding, you NEVER see an old man eating a Twix.
I always enjoy Rockbusters the most when Ricky figures out one of the ludicrous clues
Last one to the moon is a bender is one of my favourite lines from this whole mess 😂
29:35 I love how Karl takes so much time out of his stories to explain extremely basic concepts. Seriously spent like 40 seconds explaining the concept of homeless people staying at a mate's house.
Reminds me of when he explained the concept of spending money on luxuries after necessities while explaining the saying "chewing the fat", or when he went through an entire mundane transaction between a customer and a butcher while explaining "don't let the cat out of the bag".
The origin of "You neva see an old man eatin a Twix"
"They've got their Werther's.."
CLASSIC ROCK BUSTERS BRUH
''How did he know''
+Milan Smidt Homeless person called me a dickhead....so funny.
This has got to be the best ending to a show ever 😂 - Ricky trying to get Karl off a tangent and just tell him the stupid fact hahahah
"George Bush is worrying about this kid who is breastfeeding at eight?"
53:34 is so hilarious to me. Ricky being super annoyed and Steve saying "Cmon Karl time's running out!" That had me in stitches Idk why lmao
Old man eating a Twix AND Wet-knee-Houston, classic episode.
effing and jeffing. Cracks me up every time.
Anyone else listening to this while trying to fall asleep?
Nope no one ever
Whaaaa? Noooooo
HOW IS TELLING ME BRIAN BLESSED ONCE SHIT HIMSELF IN ANYWAY EDUCATIONAL?
"Messing with the tennis balls in the pews"
"Sums it up"
Money well spent. Brilliant!
They kind of forgot the context of Karl bringing up the Crusaders, that was his answer to being criticized for giving up on everything. He was in the Crusaders for 4 weeks, which consisted of playing table tennis and subbuteo. Brilliant.
Well he wanted the badge, let's not forget
The book of vague sayings and stuff
What a legend Karl is. playing table tennis and then stopped turning up....instead of just saying I don't wanna go anymore he hid from him
25:35 foreshadowing Karl's great TV career
One of my favorite things is when an episode ends while one of them (usually Ricky) is talking and they get cut off.
That Army Has Got Some Well Nice Trenches-Dandy Warholes. It’s Hilarious Because It’s Brilliant
Ok, so I have heard many of the edited Ricky Gervais show podcasts, I’m glad I found this page, simply because I have never heard Karl laugh!!! It make me happier that he actually has that ability!!!
16:26 Steve: “so you went to church and ended up in the crusades?”
I imagine a great Monty Python style movie can be made out of this premise with Karl in the lead.
they played coldplay- the scientist so many times
Well it was written about Karl! x
Dreary
Feeder - Come Back Around
It was done backwards
Probably because at the time of recording the song just came out or a few years old so was popular especially in London
Educating Ricky:
"Well, not reeeally that interesting....."
"Thanks."
😁
Karl's first Rockbusters here is his best one ever IMO. Every time I think of the Dandy Warhols I think of that genius clue.
53:38: "You nearly made me swear there." Not nearly, Rick. I could easily hear "fucking.""
So many classic moments in this episode
The whole segment starting from 44:35 is some of the most hilarious drivel I've ever heard
"homeless person called me a dick head" is just amazing on its own
Put it on a t-shirt
"We have got to get him on telly"
tttTry wasn’t a bad night for a
I learned the stronger version of twit......TWAT
Ricky’s laugh when he gets Whitney Houston gets me every time
Dandy Warhols is my favourite Rockbuster ever. So good!
Insane how many classic bits came from these early season 2 episodes. Some of the funniest shit I’ve ever heard in my entire life.
I can imagine Karl back then, with windows 2000 on internet explorer typing why? in the search bar XD
Ricky "The Pasty" Gervais. There goes The Pasty being stretchered off!
I'm gonna comment on each one when I listen to these. on my 5th time round!
And a damn Curly Wurly Grandad.
DDoig1 'You old fool'
Should've named it "you don't see an old man eating a twix"
+Tk Mcwhertor It's weird, innit? You never see old men playing hopscotch either. And why have I never seen a child drinking in a pub?
You've clearly never been to Croydon
Don't ruin the punchline in the title ;)
Old man toffees
helps me sleep!
Smerch was on his game in this one.
I think your secretly ricky gervais fan Toby
Fuck me these rockbusters are incredible
My own rockbusters submission:
Oh, he broke your flower holder...
Wreck-y Yer Vase
love this one, my favorite would be season 1, ep 19😂😂
Such a foundational episode... So many great early moments.
"Who was this servant of God?"
- ‘I thought Ricky ‘Balboa’ Gervias…or Ricky ‘Marciano’ Gervais…’
- ‘What about ‘Ricky Martin’?’
😂😆
“There goes the Pasty, being stretchered off”
Turn on the CCs
you're welcome
I know, poor youtube has no idea what's going on in that room.
STEVE boy's so funny in this. ONCE THEY SEE YOU FIGHT RICK 9:10
The Dandy Warholes one is so fucking clever.
Actually genius
Now...I don't know if you can get anything out of thatIs that what his mum said??
There is a few theories on the origins of "the cold shoulder" Karl's suggestion is on of the credible ones. Yet Ricky and Steve shoot it down straight away.
+Matt Russell I think because Karl said it more like they would cook a roast dinner and give one person cold meat lol
+Matt Russell I think some of the stories Karl tells are true or at least credible, but he tells them badly or gets some of the information wrong, which is why Ricky and Steve don't believe them.
Karl just has an unfortunate way of describing things that make them sound like rubbish
