Can’t wait to renew the interior of my kombi lwb in the new year the ply kit from you are awesome I am planning on something different this time but watching you videos has given me ideas and how to go about it
Hi! I wondered if you can help me with one question about panels - you added windows into your barn doors - I want to keep the metal - but would like to add a ply panel there and carpet over it - which I didn't have in my van. The thing is, that there are no holes in the top part of the barn door to use the clips, there is this curved frame around. It seems you had some smart clip that was holding your panels to the door before you added the window - what is this clip? The name of it, what's the magic shape there that could save me from drilling or gluing things into place? Thanks a lot! This series is amazing!
Great video I’ve never seen the invisible clips explained, I’ve get a couple of bags of them, but could not be bothered to work them out. My clips are invisible but pushed through then covered with the lining. You are laying a great bread crumb trail for anyone tackling a van to day or camper can journey. I wish you all the commercial success, and rewards (the Van at the end) for your efforts.
Great series guys, really made me want to do my own build. Quick question. How come there only seems to have been insulation added to the 2 side rear panels and not the front side panels, back doors, ceiling etc? Thanks
We have now completed the 3 layer insulation and sound deadening on all sides, ceiling and doors. Whilst filming we have to film the subject matter at the time, and sometimes this overlaps with previous jobs. This will be covered on up and coming videos :)
Hi Leigh. In the past. Have you done a barndoor to tailgate conversion . I've searched and can't find in your vids. I have recently bought a 2012 vw t5. I'm not interested in doing it my self. But it's a defo for me to have done. Even if it means a long journey to yourselves.
@combevalleycampers Do you know what size, and do you sell invisible clips for a transit custom? I bought some from Harrisons but the clips are too big?
Hi guys, thanks for the great videos! I'm converting a T5, and currently in the phase of insulating and fitting panels. Question, though: I've seen people fit slats to the structural parts of their (mostly larger) vans before lining with plywood to have something to fix furniture onto. Now, I think this might not be the way to go for a smaller van, just to save space. You seem to suggest fixing the furniture to the plywood, but to me that doesn't seem strong enough. How do you make sure you have something of a structure onto which to fix the furniture? Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work! I'm following your channel to do my build as professionally as possible.
Hi! Thanks for watching the channel! We don’t fasten furniture to ply boards. We fasten to the metal structure of the vehicle using metal brackets and riv nuts into the metal work.
@@CombeValleyCampers Hi guys. I had this exact same question! I am converting a Peugeot Boxer L1H1 SWB and can't find anywhere how to install kitchen / furniture structures to the metal of the van - like @rokusottervanger we want to save space and not fit battons within our walls & flooring. Can you possibly direct me to a video of yours that may cover this topic?
Another cracking video, thanks. You are my go to source of advice. I am lining tomorrow 😅 I will be on to the ply soon. On the website the invisible clips show as for VW models, can I use them on my Transit?
Hi leigh good set of vids.....Q how do you remove raptor from a van, ive bought a van that has raptor bright orange and needs panel's so i dont want mish mashed bodywork ? Heatgun, flag grinder ? Thanks
Thank you! With regards to Howden, make sure to get through to the Modified Van Insurance team and they will sort you out. We help out hundreds of people a year with insurance through the channel :)
@@CombeValleyCampers I did, first time using them felt a bit unprofessional they were quick to name and diss other insurance companies and had to chase for quotes.

Great video again, keep up the good work! Can you mention what size the holes are in the panels?

Thank you very much for your kind words . :)
Excellent! Will you be showing the suspension lift?
We ha shown a lift previously on the 2kt5 build series :)
When drilling the new 8mm hole for the trim clips; do you recommend painting the new bare metal?
yes you can paint them to prevent corrosion

@@CombeValleyCampers Great, thanks a lot :-)
Just converting a T5 that used to be carpeted and Lino. Do you carpet the main inner skin of the van first and then carpet the ply and fit those?
Yes that’s correct, and this will be the next video!

We will be doing a video after summer on our other van, the 2kt5 and we will
Cover how to do the tailgate swap :)

I am using them in my Citroen Dispatch so they are not make/model specific
As long as the holes are 8mm

Just sand it with 80 grit don't over complicate it
As @modevans3569 says, your best bet is to go at it with abrasives
When did the wheels get changed? Did I miss that video?
They are from our other van, the 2kt5, they are not staying like this ;)
Shame. I really like those and they suit it with the body colour.
👍🏻
Hi guys a quick question, is the reason you recommend 3mm rather than 6mm is for weight?
We prefer the final finish of 3.6 and it’s more flexible than a 6mm ply. That being said, both are pretty perfectly fine for interiors
I'd previously instantly written off invisible clips as I sssumed they would be more difficult to remove 🤯
Great video series, tried the insurance broker and they never heard of the channel for any deals,
