Great video leigh and domi, thanks for taking the time to make it...i thought the video was much more informative than the first video you did on carpeting 3 or 4 years ago...having purchased all the insulation, deadening, carpet, ply etc from yourselves I can't wait to do my conversion as the videos get made....loved the chilled out feel to the video too.
Could you do strips of carpet rather than a big chunk at a time? The joins at the back looked good so though may be for a beginner strips of carpet might work.
When using high temperature adhesives you really should read the tin information as that stuff is highly dangerous, I appreciate you were videoing but the lady was in danger while sitting in the van, I believe the contents of the tin can cause cancer, and believe me you don't want that. The carpet should be laid out outside the van to apply the adhesive to help prevent inhalation, sorry to go on but as a victim of cancer I believe prevention is better than finding a cure, be safe guys, keep smiling 😃
On a t5 you remove the rear light clusters from the outside to change the bulbs so it’s not a problem. On other vans you may need to leave the holes uncovered then re-fit the standard cover panels, or make new ones :)
Can I ask, you say 15m for Trafic LWB, dies that mean for an overall carpet without clip on panels. Or can you get away with 15m if you are doing clip on panels? Thanks in advance.
Test an area with thinners to see if it removes it. This may be laborious and smelly though. Alternatively you can make the area smooth and key the surface by sanding it. Don’t worry about removing every last scrap of glue as applying new adhesive and carpet on a well prepared area will cover nicely
Nice vid again ... but as it was the case with the old one, you don't mention at all, the solution for thebsliding door itself or the barndoor/tail gate. what is your secret for clean finish cut along the seal ??? (hope ou undertand what I mean ) I personnally do glue the carpet on the door, leting some extras material. Then close the door, and from inside of the van, I try to follow the seal with my blade. Sadly sometime i end up cutting a bit in the seal 😢 i tried he same method but removin the seal, but it doesn't guide real great, and the finish end up "wavy" 😅 hope you got a tip for this 😊 (i next try my 1st method with a piece of 3mm plysheet between seal and blade, let see) Anyway big thanks for this new version, the old one was the one i learned with how to carpet a van ... real great infos
Ah I did mine last week and I only sprayed the van and not the carpet when putting it in! Seems to have stuck nicely though. Would have been good if this video was out last week 😂
Hello from ireland Question i have is I have a mwb high roof new shape crafter i am lookin for price on MID GREY carpet and glue for the van but to be shipped to ireland Thanks in advance dave Ps also love the channel
Let me chime in with solvent. I'm a painter by trade and when we had artic trucks in for repair or paint the sign writer used to come in and mix 50% panel wipe 50% thinners which used to take the glue off with out damaging paint. Word of caution tho a lot of van interiors are just dusted in from the factory especially metallic paints and not much clear. Do a test patch what ever method.
another great video many thanks
Awesome Leigh and Domi, I missed the beginning but can't wait until later to re-watch the whole episode. Thanks for sharing...Ray
Thank you :)

Thank you so much :)
Your narrations puts me to sleep - compliment 😊
Not the first time I’ve heard that! I also fall asleep to a lot of RUclips videos. Try @BaumgartnerRestoration
You’re giving me confidence to do my own, thanks, great videos.
Fantastic tutorial 👏👏👏 learnt a lot from this thanks
..a wooden spoon i found is a great tool to use...nice one Leigh and Dom...!
Great advice! Thank you :)
Great video. Only wish it had been a few weeks ago 🤣 . I agree your carpet is great quality.
Just about to do my t6 lwb kombi,
Thanks for the video , very good instruction 👍👍👍
When you do the carpeting do you need to do the surround of the sliding door and surround of the tailgate??? You seem to have missed those bits?
Great vid! 😃👍
What kind/ brand of clips do You use?
Have you covered catpeting the kombi seat belt panel? eg Removing it. Cheers
Do the panels come off easy in order to fit electrics. / wiring etc ??

The joins look acceptable because I’m well versed in the practice! I would not suggest doing the carpet lining in strips
Great and informative video as always. One question - does the carpet have a front and back as well as a nap?
Yes it does 😀 the ‘fluffy’ side is outwards. The side you apply glue to and stick into the van is smooth and way less ‘fluffy’
Yet another brilliant video guys!👌🏻🙌🏻. Looking forward to receiving my order from you, then the fun begins! 😁🫣🤪
this is awesome
Please do a pop top :)
When we fit one, we will film it ;)

Now that the rear most pillar is covered. Can you access the rear of the tail lights to replace bulbs?

@@CombeValleyCampers ahh that makes sense, i think my transit custom replaces from inside so ill keep that in mind. Thanks for the reply!

Hi leigh
I'm currently converting my crafter and wondered why you don't have a Vapour Barrier.
I need to redo my T4 as the old stuff is sagging a bit in places, any tips for removing old gone off adhesives?

@@CombeValleyCampers perfect thanks 👍
What colour did you use?
MidGrey
