The "where to carpet " bit was just what I was looking for. My sliding door is completely carpeted and leaks in rain and strong winds so I'm gonna have to trim some off 🤦🏻♂️
Yeh, I was concerned about trimming, using a blade against the paintwork. As you pointed out, great care is needed, otherwise in twelve months time, there will be a nice rusty line where you cut. Nice job though.
Nice video. Thank you. Some parts of car are pretty hard to cover with other materials and door I like to keep light (insulate of course, but otherwise).
Love the video! I'm curious why you would use brake cleaner versus isopropyl alcohol to remove the excess glue. My understanding is the brake clean is too harsh for paint/clear coat. Thoughts?
It’s not for everyone, that’s for sure. But we only sell and install high quality carpet, and it’s stood the test of time in hundreds of vans we’ve converted in over 7 years
Good advice will be at the carpet stage soon with my first conversion

Thank you for watching! Glad we could help :)
Super informative video! Watched it two times and will definitely watch it the morning im gonna apply carpet to my doors :) Thanks a lot!
Thank you for the detail information. I feel like a professional now 😅
Would you be able / recommend cutting the edges while the doors are closed. That way you can 100% see where you need to cut?

Hi Lee, when carpeting sliding doors, do you remove the door or do it in situ?
Cheers James
Excellent vid Leigh ..
Thankyou for the vid, how come the door wasn’t insulated or sound proofed before the carpet though please?…
Hi! As mentioned in the video, these doors are junk, and I will be replacing them with a tailgate swap
Just about to do mine so quite fortuitous that you should publish this right now, cheers Guys
Happy to help!

Very nice job Leigh those doors look great 👍👍
Glad you like them!
Hi there, quick question, will a fully carpeted van suffer from condensation.
Found this video ... thanks again ❤
Hello thanks for the informative video 👍 what material did you use on the lower part of the door ?
Massive improvement
is this the silver carpet? looks nice
Good video, thanks.
Could you do a vid on sliding doors that are still on the van please
Same story really on a t5, but because the lower door panel covers most of the door, you can apply carpet to just the window frame. :)
What was the sanding machine you used and spray you used
It was an air powered die grinder with a sanding attachment :)
No insulation at all
Hello. Notice. The is no sound proof or heating proof put on the doors !!!
Yup, these are going to be swapped for a tailgate eventually
Problem with that carpet after a few months he looks shit and hold all the dust

@@CombeValleyCampers That’s a load a bow I can see that carpet line
@shauncooke9837 What carpet would you recommend if this is rubbish after a certain amount of time. Going to install mine shortly.
