Btw, I highly recommend using yellow tin snips to cut the floor (these are the straight edged ones), so very easy just like cutting paper to get a very precise cut and the floor doesn't need to be warmed either. Also, most diy-ers will have a pair of these and they'll have other uses rather than the hook blade (unless they plan on doing more work involving the blade). Also, tin snips tend to be much cheaper, and cutting the floor will not likely blunt cutters designed to shear through up to 6mm of steel. I'm fitting a Transit swb which has some interesting shapes. Took me 5 minutes to cut the floor shape (using the ply as the template)

I used to lay caravan carpets i would lay newspaper inside to fit the profile then sellotape the lot together as a pattern, pretty shoddy i know but HEY it works! It still works fitting lino in houses AND CARPET! ( Sorry kids for ‘lino’ read VINYL FLOORING’)
GREAT JOB guys just bought my high top T5 LWB van and changed my front seats to twin singles and ripping out all the ply in the back ready to insulate!
Someone did a superb job as the floor was SIKAFLEXED down and edge sealed so no water ingress! It was also insulated sadly only with horrible fibreglass matting that sucks up water so it had to come out🤷🏼‍♂️
    BUT
I could only lift it up using the vans scissor jack to slowly ‘ break the bond’ to lift the floor.

I was worried about the height difference at the rear threshold plate. I have a full size one, but will I still be able to use it after the wooden ply and flooring is fitted. I thought the height difference might be too high to refit it? I noticed you fitted yours no problem. Can I reuse mine? I have a nissan nv300.

@@tadge74 hi Tadge. It's important to match the method of fixing/fixing products to the actual job. If this flooring is made for buildings then the manufacturer will state the best way to fit it in buildings. Van builders often need to change manufacturers recommendations because the use us different to that in buildings. Vibration, temperature and humidity variance , noise qualities, foot traffic, weight considerations - just some of the challenges van builders have that are very different to ; what appear to be (on the face of it ) similar issues in buildings. At 1st van builders needed to experiment to find the way forward but not so much nowadays as there's not much that hasn't been tried and RUclips tells us all. The golden rule has to be.....if it's worked well time and again then it's right. The supplier is the link between the manufacturer and the many van builders.
