Thank you for this. I'm just doing up my astra van, i use it for work as well so will only be for the odd weekend away etc, but can i put the fleece in then the thermal liner over the fleece instead of the fleece last? I'm not going to ply wood it...certainly not yet anyway so the liner will basically be my wallpaper.
I'm so glad I found your channel! I'm just about to start my first camper conversion (Nissan NV200) and will be rewatching so many of your videos! I'm only over in Brighton, so I'll be contacting you soon!!
Great videos, I’m thinking of opening up my 1982 T3 and re doing the sound and insulation lining. Listing with headphones, at the end of the video, it sounds like the Left and Right audio channels are switched.
Hi Cvc , watched most of your vids ,all have been really good & helpful, now doing my own sound deadening by following your instructions excatly in your episode 7 but i don't recall you using the deadn duo ? , so after installing the fleece, do i need to use the duo or even a vaper barrier ? . Great vids 👍
Hi there, great video as I am in prep to do my own van conversion on a T6! I notice that you didn't sound deaden or insulate the floor? is this normal practice or just missed from the video as I am struggling to find anything on it! Also does the Combo bundle come with enough to also do the floor (if it needs done) or is it just the walls? Thanks for any help, enjoying the series so far!
Great video guys, very helpful. Also just found your podcast so enjoying listening to this while working on my van. Quick question, sorry if I missed it but is the closes cell roll more for sound deadening or heat insulation. I know it will do a bit of both but I’m not planning to sleep in my van just looking to improve the acoustics inside so wasn’t sure if it’s worth it or not. Cheers again guys.
Recently l bought the dodo pro thermal liner 10mm. I bought this with the impression that that is all would need. I was going to put recycled plastic insulation in the places the dodo mat wouldn't reach. Am I right in thinking this?
How much difference is there in these products compared to the regular dodo matt in terms of quality/benefits and the price for say a LWB t5.1? Is it worth saving money to get a less effective outcome or spend the extra and not benefit massively from it?
As standard no, and a lot of people miss it out because of the amount of work involved i.e. removing the seats the cab flooring, ceiling, the covers over the seat belts etc. But apparently it makes a huge difference 👍🏽 I haven't done it yet either 🙈
I guarantee it will only be the basic “ enhanced sound reduction” that you used to get as standard, doing it yourself can only be an improvement over and above factory 👍
HI! Thanks for your comments. If you would like to get to the meat of the subject you'll find chapters added to the timeline and in the description. This video series is aimed at beginners so we've carried out thorough explanations and detailed descriptions. Thanks for watching!
Thank you :) We shall check out the sound and see what we can do, although its difficult after a video has been published. As for re doing the sound deadening, i did exactly the same on mine!

Amazing videos series, thanks so much
Thank you for watching :)

Just keep going, the liner will provide a lot of deadening

What do you do with the remaining exposed metal?
Hi guys, what do you normally do about the metal bracket that is on the other wheel arch? Do you grind it off?
It can be ground off neatly, or carpeted around. We cover this in our latest carpeting video :)
@@CombeValleyCampers brilliant! Thanks for the reply I’ll check it out
Thanks for these brilliant videos. Im about to convert my new Ford Connect L2. I'm wondering how you approached the roof? Just the same?

Do you insulate the roof at all?
Great video guys, very helpful. Also just found your podcast so enjoying listening to this while working on my van.

Hi! The closed cell foam is both for sound absorption, and heat insulation. The matting is for sound deadening
How many dodo sheets did you use on the sides
Recently l bought the dodo pro thermal liner 10mm. I bought this with the impression that that is all would need. I was going to put recycled plastic insulation in the places the dodo mat wouldn't reach. Am I right in thinking this?
Yes that would be ideal. In reality, the more you put in, over and above factory insulation and sound deadening will be an improvemnent. Leigh

Will you be fitting a pop-top?
Not yet, maybe another time.
Do Transporters have sound deadening in the cab?
As standard no, and a lot of people miss it out because of the amount of work involved i.e. removing the seats the cab flooring, ceiling, the covers over the seat belts etc. But apparently it makes a huge difference 👍🏽 I haven't done it yet either 🙈
I was going to say exactly this! ^^^ Thanks Gogi!
@@CombeValleyCampers you are very welcome good Sir, I learnt my answer from the Q&A just gone 😅, sharing the knowledge eh 😉
What is the total weight of the kit (i.e. the extra weight you add to the car)?
30-40kg... hexmat/deadezy 10kg per box, 2 boxes. Duo 10kg. Thermoliner and fleece weigh next to nothing, say 3kg
@@r1h149 Tnx and if you go for the ‘fuller’ versions of these products how much heavier are they?
My 6.1 has factory sound deadening on the panels. Perhaps this is what the mysterious ‘enhanced sound reduction’ means on the build notes.

Thumbnail: ‘deadning’? 🤔
Thanks! This will be edited! Sometimes things slip through the net!
DOG!!
Our boy!
Get on with it for gods sake 😴😂
