Sir I am unable to use 3.5 inch TFT waveshare screen with raspberry pi 5 in Kali lunix os . I have try to do it from putty and using "kalipi-tft-config " command but even after reboot screen is white and while rebooting screen didn't turned off

Kali Linux is working fine with the HDMI output but if I try to interface with LCD screen it does not work

you should be in root user to edit with nano
Mine stays as a white screen, the Kali begins booting, then freezes during boot everytime.
When I try and download the drivers from waveshare and bash LCD-show35, HDMI no longer works, the LCD screen remains white, and I am unable to Putty into the Raspberry Pi.
When In the Kalipi-tft-config, I do not have the option to update the kalipi-tft-config.
Could you please provide some guidance? I am for the most part following your process step by step.

Is this not compatible with the 2021 version of Kali? I see you are using the 2019 version.

what is the password then your user is "root"
For latest kali arm images it’s "kali:kali"

Same problem here. My only solution was to use raspbian to get the screen to work sadly
