I chalk it up to them really being about the music and not the notoriety/success. Granted, I don’t know these guys personally, so I could be wrong. Plus every member is a talented musician on their own.
I didn’t realise that Tom was struggling big time during this set! even on the verge of walking off stage due to some technical issues! And stress! Radiohead were nothing but amazing here! it’s said that O’brien was the support to keep Tom focused and afloat
I was there. Paid an awful lot for the ticket (£240 in '97!), lost my friends so spent the whole weekend alone (before mobiles, lol), was fully unprepared for the mudfest that it was and Neil Young, the only other reason I went, pulled out...but seeing this greatness made it all worthwhile.
I was there too - also lost my mates and spent 2 nights shacked up in a dripping wet tent with a random woman i never saw again in my life. It was the best weekend of my life and that was before Radiohead came on. I paid £400 for my ticket, I'd spend 10x that to see them play like this again.
I was there too but paid corrupt stewards £15 to get in. They gave you an ultraviolet stamp on your hand as if you'd already entered the site and been back out to the car. There was a large queue handing over their 15 quid. They must have made a fortune. Did that in 98 too. In 95 we jumped the fence fully laden with rucksacks. One friend got stuck on top, hanging upside down. When he finally got down he promptly threw up. About 200metres away there was a mob shaking the fence down so we could have just walked In a little later. That was when the government demanded higher security because it had been completely compromised In 95 and the number of people swelled to an enormous size. In 94 my first Glasto we did buy tickets. Could have cost about £140, I can't remember. This gig was easily the best I've ever seen. It was special. Mind was blown. Was the first time hearing Ok computer as I think the release date was still a few months away and they were pretty much showcasing their stunning new album to the world
Christ on a bike, were tickets going on the black market coz it was them or something? I went in 99 and 2000 and it was £80 a pop. Granted, the extra woulda been worth it to see Radiohead three albums in. I saw them at Notts Poly in 92 supporting Kingmaker. Not quite the same experience xD

There's two things that come to mind about this song, one is that it's a beautiful song about a near lethal experience... The other is "I'm back to say the n word"
No disrespect meant to Nigel Godrich, who definitely knows what he's doing--but why do you really need a producer when you can just walk onstage and actually knock it cleanly out of the park with a version even better than that on the album?
Nigel was probably there during the sound check with the sound technician checking all the levels so it would sound this good. I don't think they just pick up a guitar and plug it in and knock out this sound. A bit more prep goes into it.
In addition to what the other comment said, Nigel is involved with actually making the songs too. He adds his thoughts/direction to the process, even if he doesn’t play an instrument
