One of the biggest things I learned when I was homeless. I figured out in the first month, that it was unprofitable to condemn myself for the situation. Being homeless does not define anyone. It is simply temporary geography. So, I learned to get off my own back and simply live. I learned a lot.

I agree with this mentality. The challenge seems that many homeless people deny being homeless, or do you think that this is not true? I always felt that to solve a problem we first need to embrace the truth.
She is perfect and beautiful. Her personality. Her kindness and her will. You can tell how she broke down as soon as it was said. I wish there were more people like her.

Amanda is a true blessing. I love her spirit and even tho her situation is what it is she doesn’t let it keep her down, she has a beautiful heart and kind and loving spirit. Most people that have the least love the most, they are more generous and kind and see the hope that only God gives. My husband and I stumbled upon your series tonight on PBS and it was a HUMBLING EXPERIENCE for us because we were really depressed because he’s out of work and we have $10.00 to our name. We thought this was the end of the world until your series. We realized that we are truly blessed because we do have a home and all of the essentials that keep us comfortable. Thank you for this humbling experience and for bringing us back down to earth. Thank you for helping us see the less fortunate and causing a stirring in our hearts to help do our part in ending homelessness. God is so good and I know Amanda is going to be blessed with her own home and all the things she needs but most of all I know she will still be out there blessing others because of the love she has for them. Had the pleasure of communicating with Manda. What you see is a beautiful, kind and extremely caring person for others. She is truly one in a million through and through. It amazes me that she has such a positive attitude towards life and others. Its not difficult to love her, she gives so much and emanates genuine goodness.

A tear dropped my eye. Fantastic document. You sent Manda on a trip. She's awesome. I'm a bit of a weird guy (foreign) who traveled thru the States and bumped into, met and talked to the homeless. Gave them hamburgers, money, a sweater, took one to the pharmacy with his foot hurt and whatnot. And listened to them. I've got a soft spot for many of the homeless in the States. It's 1st world unworthy. You guys are fantastic

if you are working a job thats paying you not enough to save up, move somewhere else, other countries have better opportunity if you study what you want to do. Even basic shop/restaurant jobs pay enough for rent, food, and spares.

The amazing attitude and happiness is mind-blowing. Some homeless people are true heroes: they are the soldiers of survival in harsh conditions. Discomfort and brutal living conditions don't break these people - it makes them stronger.
Not going to happen, too many privileged and over fortunate chocolate loving people in world and then you have the other political correct morons out there that all love their lavish lifestyles, with smirked faces and empty hearts for homelessness regardless. These muppets like to paint a fake look at me image, and showboast themselves as good samaritans but act like drama queens on TV that pulls their strings and pays them big bucks each clip shown.

Yet the people in their houses nice and warm in winter are happy to sit and watch them get their tents torn away and thrown away into the dump but I'm sure their prayers will help right 🤦♀️

Oh...it happens. It happens to EVERYONE on every walk of life! I hope you don’t beat yourself up about that...or about anything really. The best thing to do when you make this type of self realization is to become extremely grateful. Be appreciative of all that you have and take it one step further by giving to those who are less fortunate than you in your community. It can shift your focus from your unhappiness to giving something to someone else’s life.
Same here I own a business make pretty good money. But the saying that money can't buy happiness is so true. I can buy a lot of unnecessary possessions that can't even satisfy me. I have a splendid 2 room condo, And I feel like human trash. My dog is keeping me alive. Am I being weak and negative? no family, no friends, no job. Everything is closed. Sure Covid19 curfews and lockdowns will have killed more than the governments incompetent hysteria.

Those that really help the most are the youtubers giving hot meals, food, clothing, gift cards, tents, blankets, phones and other supplies continuously from viewer donations, and try to get them housing, jobs and assistance that is really great.

We need that here in Monroe louisania they closed salvation army back Dec. Or November kicked there housing everyone in the streets it's a shame. Now the city but quit 3 shift so people can't work nights people lost there job. I wise I could help people like this. I've been homeless I no what there going thru. Sadly in the next 1 to 3 years I'm gonna loose my place and be sleeping in m6 truck or camper and running a kids non profit fishing group and I'm good with that. I'll have little money. But when my daughter mines out I'll lose money alot. So can't stay here were I'm at. So I'll camp the rest if my life. But y'all have great day and week god bless

Brilliant work. Homelessness is far more complex than many realize. It is by the grace of (enter deity) that we have spiritual, financial and emotional safety nets to support us (the homed) when we struggle. I have learned so much being on the streets the last 3 years doing outreach. May we all offer compassion and listen and see people. Thank you for providing a voice. Come to SF so we can head out together.
This lady is amazing! I think she smile because she feels like a somebody care about people like she. And i think she smile because she get warm heart from anything new what happens in her life. In the same time she can start cry in any moment, expecialy when anybody remind about who she is, and where she will need sleep tonight. She is lovely good heart person.

Those that really help the most are the youtubers giving hot meals, food, clothing, gift cards, tents, blankets, phones and other supplies continuously from viewer donations, and try to get them housing, jobs and assistance that is really great.
Love the way Manda laughing at her own notes....turn a negative into positive. Truly a beautiful person. 😊

We need that here in Monroe louisania they closed salvation army back Dec. Or November kicked there housing everyone in the streets it's a shame. Now the city but quit 3 shift so people can't work nights people lost there job. I wise I could help people like this. I've been homeless I no what there going thru. Sadly in the next 1 to 3 years I'm gonna loose my place and be sleeping in m6 truck or camper and running a kids non profit fishing group and I'm good with that. I'll have little money. But when my daughter mines out I'll lose money alot. So can't stay here were I'm at. So I'll camp the rest if my life. But y'all have great day and week god bless

Brilliant work. Homelessness is far more complex than many realize. It is by the grace of (enter deity) that we have spiritual, financial and emotional safety nets to support us (the homed) when we struggle. I have learned so much being on the streets the last 3 years doing outreach. May we all offer compassion and listen and see people. Thank you for providing a voice. Come to SF so we can head out together.

I think she smile because she feels like a somebody care about people like she. And i think she smile because she get warm heart from anything new what happens in her life.
In the same time she can start cry in any moment, expecialy when anybody remind about who she is, and where she will need sleep tonight.
She is lovely good heart person.

I am so glad she got a home. I seriously cried for her. Such a brave and kind heart. Thank you for filming this wonderful lady who is a true living ANGEL. I hope people with money and power can do more for the Homeless. And that every day people offer a kind word, some hot food/drink or money. They are human beings after all and no rats.
