How ingenious of you to use a furniture polish tin covered in cling film instead of a rolling pin! I have used a milk bottle in the past! As for the squeaky ball music - just devine - Royal Albert Hall next stop. So cosy to hear you interacting with a doggo - I miss mine very much. Thank you for the recipie!
Wow they look great. I’ve always bought them like a few people have said and actually that’s ridiculously easy. Definitely gonna try that might have some for lunch with a bit of smoked salmon and poached egg.
This is brilliant! Thank you. I tried them in Scotland and loved them so much. I wish I knew they’re simple enough to make that even I could try!! I could definitely have used this knowledge all the times my potatoes were about to sprout.. thank you so much 🙏💓
I make something similar, but call them potato pancakes. Mine are thicker and made into round patties, though. And cooked in oil. I may have to try yours'. I also put chopped onions in them.
Thanks Ali I'm going to try these right now. I have leftover mashed potatoes. They do have cheese in them so I hope it doesn't make them stick in the pan 😊
We have some dear friends in Canada. He is Scots and she is Canadian. Unfortunately, he passed suddenly of a heart attack in January of 2023. He loved “Nips & Tatties”. She is doing well & we keep in touch often.
Great way to use up leftover potatoes. I’d be tempted to add an egg, more flour to compensate for the egg. And maybe chopped up mushrooms. Clearly no longer Tattie scones that way. 😆 love Luna. She must give you lot of laughs.
Could one use alternative flours? Personally - I use so little flour that, when I do want some, I tend to grind up some oatmeal or dried chickpeas (I have a Vitamix - and they're high-powered.....).

I usually buy tattie scones. I didn't realise they were so easy to make. Nothing better than tatties scones with a fried egg, some bacon and mushrooms and of course Brown sauce. Delicious. My sister lives in Sheffield and when we visit we take her some tatties scones. She has lived in Sheffield for over 30 years but still misses them.
Here in NW England we call them potato cakes. I like mine toasted with butter and a sprinkling of salt. I saw some in the supermarket the other week and with all the horrible additives they had 14 ingredients in them!!
Love tatie scones 👍👍
I love Luna's antics in the background lol
Luna always makes me smile with her antics in the background, she’s one crazy dog so entertaining 😂. ❤

Tattie scones, a true joy from my childhood. My dad would bring loads back after visiting his family in Glasgow! I need to make some. Thanks Ali xxx
My grannie made these and rolled them in oatmeal. Fried with and egg, just Devine! X
Oh that sounds delicious!!
Thanks for the recipe idea Ali 💡 Miss Luna's background antics are too funny 😊🐶 Hello from Nottingham.
Never heard of potato scones before but they look very tasty.

Love love love tattie scones! I make them, my mum used to make them and my granny served them up with a poached egg. Delicious, great video Ali👍
In Northern Ireland we call it potato bread once it’s cooked I like to fry it and eat with pickled beetroot. Yum yum
They looked so appetising- and so easy to make! I can already think of several ways to eat them.....

Potato bread!, yummers, I grew up eating it in Belfast, also at Halloween my mum would make potato apple, so delicious fried in the pan with butter ❤
They look nice. I’m going to try making them 👍☺️.
You made that look so easy! I just happen to have some potatoes left over from the weekend ; so I know what to do with them now. 😀
Much easier without a daft dog interrupting!!

😀💕xx thanks Ali. luna is not naughty with her toy, it sounds funny to me. 🥰
She deliberately puts it under the sofa so I have to stop what I'm doing and go rescue it!!
Going to try these. Usually buy them.

Yes you can use other flours. You only need it to give the dough some structure :-)
Thanks Ali, will definitely have a go. Do you think they would work well with mashed potatoes that also have a bit of cream in them as well as butter?
Yep should be fine, might need some extra flour to create a firm enough dough :-)
@@aliliveswellonless Thanks!

I like them when we have “breakfast for dinner” instead of hash browns.

Blimey, 14 ingredients!!!! They only need 2 plus any extra seasonings of choice :-)
@@aliliveswellonless Exactly! They were probably made months beforehand
