Thank you for sharing your idea of drying the carrots before storing them in the fridge I've tried it and they stay fresh for long time..Excellent suggestion 🥕👌👍
Thank you for sharing ❤.merry Christmas 🤶 🎄 ❤ ♥ 💕 and happy new year 🎉 😊 ❤❤❤bless you and 👪 👩👧👧 👨👩👧👦 with joy peace and happiness always keep safe take care lov for 2025❤❤❤❤❤
I have stocked up on food as well as goodies like chocolate - I plan to have a low spend January too, only going shopping for essentials like bread and milk and some fresh veg maybe later on in January.
Thank you for showing the green lentils sprouting on Tuesday. I’ve sprouted lots of seeds in the past but never green lentils. Put them to sprout Tuesday and today, Friday , they’re beginning to sprout
I’m going to send Mr Worm to the shops for those cheap potatoes (He’s 6ft 2 so he’ll cope if there’s a scrum), and then roast them and freeze a big batch. Thanks for the reminder! Happy Christmas, BeFree 🎄❄️🎄
Wow those veggie prices had the most insane clubcard deals!? Nothing like that in my local tesco. Even the yellow sticker stuff is like 'this item is £5.50 full price and it's about to expire so we'll charge you £4.20 instead' lol.
The vegetables you bought look wonderful and such great prices. They'd be over $20 here. Our veggies definitely don't look as fresh and healthy as yours.😞 Glad you're able to eat healthy for so little. 👍😀
Hello from Shropshire, We went to Morrisons as we have a More card. 10p veg and 5 points for each item bought. We put our extra veg in paper bags and store them in our outhouse. Maybe you can do that in your garage. We enjoy your videos, Merry Christmas 🎄
I wish they’d sell the cheap veg online for all of those like me who are housebound, I’m so glad you managed to get them, but I find it a bit rotten of the supermarkets to only have these offers in store.
Im sure they were 29p last year in a few of the supermarkets. Great prices this year. Tescos always have lovely potatoes in the deal. Merry Christmas Jill 🧑🎄😃
😊 it says in my root cellaring book that to store veg make sure none of them are touching each other. Sawdust is recommended to keep the veg crisp. My plan to keep the cockatoos out of the apple trees didn't work. They have cut holes in the insect netting and are dipping down and plucking out apples and pears. Little buggers. But what makes it worse is one of them is coming to my window, 20 cm away from where my head is when I sit on the lounge, and tapping with its huge beak. It waits until I lift the blind and then we have a Mexican stand off staring competition until I give in and go out with cut up pink lady apple. 😂 They now feel entitled for loving ❤️ 😂 so they will get a nice surprise when winter starvation comes and I pull off the insect netting to reveal the ones that got away. Bonanza. 😊😊 Belinda
Wonderful that they sell those veggies for that price. It's a real Christmas 🎄 present 🎁 🌝👍I have a feeling that here the prices go up the weeks before Christmas and then only 1 day before Christmas they go down.
Aldi is 8p, they have potatoes, turnip, brussels, red and white cabbage, brocoli and carrots. Put your veg in the fridge salad drawer, it will last for months. The cabbages, dry blanche in the microwave for 5 to 7 minutes to heat through, then cool, dry, then freeze.
Could you store some veg in a sack in the garage? Or in the boot of your car like you do with apples? I went to Aldi and bought enough veg to hopefully see me through until the end of January. I'm aiming for a low or no spend month and the current veg prices will definitely help!

Many thanks JT, have a great weekend 🎄🐶
Merry Christmas!
Same to you 🎄
Yes the winter veg in Aldi is 8p...they are limiting it to two bags of each veg per person...
Thank you 🎄
It was six bags of each per person when I went - I got four of sprouts, carrots, broccoli and two each of cabbage and potatoes, no bother.
Lidl also has shallots for 9p I'm still using some from the summer i keep them in fridge X so I'm going to get a few bags to last until the summer x
Good tip🎄
Asda veg is 8p as well and that includes potatoes.
Thanks for the info 🎄

I didn’t know that . Take care 🎄
You can get them at Tesco online at the cheap price.
Sainsburys if you have nectar card cheap online.
@@kwkw5711 …I’ve got a nectar card, and none of the veg is 15p cheap
@@dorothyhopkins5460 ..no you can’t unfortunately

Yes they are lovely potatoes. Merry Christmas 🎄
Wow 15p That’s amazing 😊 Hello from Norway 😊
Hello Norway 🎄
Think everyone been taken by surprise this year with the 8p veg. Best wishes xxx
Yes I was surprised 🎄
I went today (early afternoon) to Asda and Lidl and neither of them had a single reduced price vegetable for sale They’d all sold out 😂
Think a lot of people are taking advantage of these prices
One has to wonder what the farmers get paid when the supermarkets are selling at rock bottom prices.
Yes, have a good weekend
They are sold at a loss to themselves as a sweetener to get the customers through the door. The farmers don’t get paid less in this instance.
Yes I thought they might be a loss leader 🎄

Have a relaxing weekend Belinda 🎄💫
Brace for coffee increase of 20-30% in the new year. We don't get those veggies deals here in the USA. Merry Christmas dear Jill!
thanks for the heads up on coffee 👍

Stock up when the prices go down Heidi 🎄
I had to be approved for some shoe polish some time ago!
😁
Yes Aldi had potatoes, broccoli, white cabbage, carrots, parsnips, and broccoli and sprouts all 8 pence but you gotta go early 👍😊
Thanks for the nod 👍🎄
If you got a food deydrator( they are very reasonable on temu) you could use it to dry some of your food then just rehydrate it when needed
Good idea 👍

Is there a limit at Aldi's what you can buy for vegetables
@@ashleybosvik3031 6 of each item.
Just got my Christmas veg from Lidl for 8p each, Brussels, carrots, parsnips, potatoes and swede.

Wish they would do that here in Cyprus
It gets people into the stores
