  • Welcome to the review of the Hypto Krypto Twin Fin by Haydenshapes Surfboards - I have been surfing the Hypto Twin in the stock 5'9" X 20 1/8" X 2 9/16" X 32.67L
    From au.haydenshape...
    The Hypto Krypto Twin is a performance keel fin design, with versatility and forgiveness allowing ease of transition from your other boards to this shape. It features a slightly tighter swallow tail and fins set further back to set the tail into the wave and bring control and smooth rail to rail transition. It feels and rides very similar to the Hypto Krypto with the wide point set forward, high volume up under the chest, and concaves that are smooth and fast to surf on. It is a great all round keel fin twin design that will feel comfortable under your feet in all types of waves.
    SKILL LEVEL - 3-10
    The Hypto Krypto Twin is suitable for intermediate to experienced surfers. Ride it the same dimensions as your Hypto Krypto or 4-5” less than your shortboard with 1-3L extra volume.
    CONDITIONS - ALL CONDITIONS
    With great paddle power, and plenty of speed, you will be able to draw lines and flow in all types of waves up to 8ft faces.
    SUITABLE WAVE FACES - 2-8FT FACES
    Anything from beach breaks, reef to point breaks where you want to surf around the face with speed.
    In the Hypto Krypto Twin I rode a variety of twin fins, but really enjoyed the Son of Cobra Twin Fins -
    futuresfins.co...
    The Son of Cobra Twin is designed with extra cant angle to fit all Post-modern Twin fins with deep double concave bottom shape, especially the new ...Lost Cobra Killer and other Son of Cobra Round Twin. These fins have a 7.5 degree cant angle (4 degrees is standard for twins) specifically to be paired with the Lost Surfboards x SOC “Cobra Killer” board model.
    Solid Fiberglass construction combined with balanced base and height measurements provides maximum drive, while the thinner tip offers release and spring off the top.
    Template Category | Neutral (balanced, all-around)
    Construction | Fiberglass
    Size | Large Twin

    Hey Craig, thanks for another great review. I've got the seven footer and am loving it so far with Machado keels but will definitely try a pair of ENs I have next time.
    Cheers!

      Sounds good! At 7ft the keels might be better, but definitely chuck some uprights twins in if you’ve got them to feel the difference 🤙

    Thanks for all the great reviews Craig! How does the Hypto Crypto Twin compare to the JS Black Baron?

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  2 года назад +3

      The black Baron was a long time ago…
      I think this felt faster with much better flow.
      I think this would be better suited to a wider range of surfers also 👌

    Best review!
    Are you still stocked about the HK twin or by now found a better twin?
    I am just about to order the HK twin but I can’t decide between the 5‘8 and 5‘9. For the past 6 years I am on the traditional Hypto krypto 5‘8 with 31 L. I know they say you should get the same as the original HK but especially for some smaller days or days with many mid length surfers in the water maybe some extra volume is not bad 😅 to increase wavecount? But I am afraid at the same time to lose some speed and fun going bigger/to big.
    As you have surfed it, can you advise if you think a bit bigger or smaller is the right choice?
    (I am intermediate surfer with 1.80 and 78kg). Thanks so much!

    Riding it 2 inches longer and 2 ltrs more volume than the original Hypto but you looked better on the 5'7".. Sounds like you preferred the Hypto over the Hypto Twin??? Would love to see you review the Firewire Evo or the Tomo Revo...

      The original Hypto really surprised me, and it’s such a versatile all round board!

    How does this compare to something like the Christenson Fish? I'm looking for something fun in average surf that will also work on bigger days. Currently surfing a 5'6 pod mod at about 31 liters of volume. Wondering if you'd recommend I stick with the same volume on the Hypto Krypto Twin which would put me on the 5'8? I'm about 6' tall and 170lbs. Thanks!

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  2 года назад

      Very different to the CC Fish…
      Regarding sizing/volume, similar to the Pod Mod volume makes sense.
      This is a super fun and capable board, and with the straighter rail line through the tail, will be good in bigger better conditions too ✌️

  • @Stomperproductions
    @Stomperproductions 2 года назад +3

    Do you think the board is sensitive to extra volume/size? I'm 6'5 95kg and would ideally like the 6'2 for length and that's right on my shortboard volume at 38.5L (I've never tried less volume, though it may be OK). The next stock size up is 6'4 and has a huge volume jump to 43.5L... I've had issues with too much forward volume before, but it also seems this kind of board could do well with extra volume for even earlier wave entries. What do you think?

    • @christopherpakney8542
      @christopherpakney8542 2 года назад +1

      I'm 6'6" 97kg and have the soft HyptoKrypto twin 6'4" 43L. I love it and the extra float as it allows easy entry into mushy surf and the extra volume doesn't really change the performance too much in 2-4' summer waves.

    • @TheSurfboardGuide
      @TheSurfboardGuide  2 года назад

      Hey! I’d probably add a little foam to this over your shortboard, but don’t want it being too big and boaty.
      Don’t be afraid to order a custom, HS has an awesome custom program, and you can nail the size/volume you want!
