I've noticed all the great videos you guys have been putting out but have had to postpone watching, commenting and liking them for later, has been pretty busy and chaotic fall for me. But just wanted to drop a note to let you all know the videos are appreciated.
Yeah I have a pair but it was a limited release...not to many out there and not sure if they are gonna do more. Maybe we will throw it in toward the end of the spectrum
Nice video…though I wish I could geek out on fin subtleties like this. I can tell the difference between a truly flexible fin and a stiff one if a wave has a real solid open face to push off hard on, but honestly all these little nuances you guys talk about is beyond me. I’ve never had a surf session and afterwards thought to myself “damn I wish I took out fins that were looser or stiffer today”. Im a consistent, weekly surfer but I suppose I’m not good enough to really notice or care. 😂 I wonder how many others feel this way.
Yeah I know what you're saying in some ways you don't have to be that sensitive to it. But in other ways you can get a better performance out of the same board by changing the fins. When you've served enough and you've ridden enough different boards you kind of start to build an internal reference point and you kind of just know if something's missing. Usually based on that you might think I wanted to turn tighter or I want more drive and then you can make adjustments from there. Anyway thanks for watching and thanks for sharing in the comments. 🤙🙏
@@used_surf - Nice. The Jordy’s have similar dims to the AM2s except the center fin has a smaller base length and the side fins are a hair shorter. The tip shape and surface area also near identical. The ride number is about the same too for flex. Comparing these two fin sets together at the same time might help show the subtle nuances. 🤓
it also matters I say which part of the fin base is more forward in the board for drive and hold, further back can pivot tighter in smaller waves. So many factors.
Yeah true for sure...I think on all thrusters the base starts on the "shapers dot" so it just a matter of how they distribute the surface area from there. It's crazy how little things have a detectable effect
Well they do have a little bit of a different construction. Honeycomb to the sharp eye and Tech flex for John John's. But that's a size large if you go size mediums they do make John John's in the alpha. And I do believe they make the alpha in size small as well. Honeycomb flexes a little more than Tech flex and has a different flex pattern. But overall the bases about the same the John John is a little bit taller. The John John is a little bit more upright so you might get a little bit of a tighter turn.
Ok going straight to the most raked back... we're working our way towards that direction but prob won't come till later as we are going loosest(pivot) to stiffest (most rake).
This the kind of surf-content i need in my life
🤙🙏
Jordy vs AM2
Nice fin content as usual. I’d like to see the Coffin’s and AM2. Cheers

Thanks for that! Appreciated🤙🤘🙏
Tokoro and Coffin…Two of my favorites! Would love to hear your commentary.
Ok cool ..noted...we will tally up and see which ones we will do next👍🤙
Good job boys...surfing looked good too 🤙 these fin comparisons help a lot
If you guys can score a pair id love to see the new mayhem 3.0 vaporcores in the mix. Hoping futures puts out more templates in vaporcore

AM2 vs Jordy.
Which fin sets are you usually using?
Ok cool. Noted...Am2 and wade Goodall from captain are my usuals

Hi.
What are the main differences between JJF and Sharpeye fins?
Thanks

Not sure about Futures but the Sharpeye in FCS had a super weird flex for me.
Interesting
They’re look like the JS from fcs2 VS the DHD
Pyzel really stiffer than JJFs?
DHD vs R8
