    Another great video!
    - **Understanding Stoicism**: Ryan Holiday emphasizes that stoicism is often misunderstood as a way to accept a terrible world without sadness, but it actually involves a proactive pursuit of good character and actions for the common good.
    - **Importance of Justice**: The book highlights the stoic virtue of justice, focusing on themes like integrity, responsibility, and doing the right thing. Marcus Aurelius's emphasis on good character and actions for the common good is a central point.
    - **Discipline and Character Building**: Holiday notes that virtues like discipline and courage are cultivated through consistent effort and training, not inherent traits, and that these virtues are crucial for personal and societal well-being.
    - **Challenges of Leadership**: The discussion includes the challenges of maintaining integrity and making difficult decisions, drawing examples from historical figures and modern leaders who faced moral dilemmas and the importance of staying true to one's word and principles.
I found stoicism has a lot similarity with Taoism, Confucianism, which I explore more in my own channel.

I’d like to offer a second interpretation of de prima’s response to Kerouac: Maybe she meant that when you do what you say you’ll do, it is the same process as putting pen to paper. That just as you must do what you say you’ll do to live and act with integrity, you must believe what you write for it to have integrity. 👀🙃

The book is a fantastic read, as all before. Life is a wonderful journey, I like to think I don’t make mistakes, just find other ways to learn & become wiser, better human being. Keep inspiring Ryan, you certainly have helped me 😊

Man. If this is what it was like to write a book on the easily defined virtue of Justice, how much more arduous will it be to write a book on the much more nebulous virtue of Wisdom? A lot of different philosophies have different ideas on what wisdom is. Some of these schools of thought overlap, but not all the way. And while they all have points, sometimes they come at loggerheads. Take Stoicism vs Epicureanism or Taoism vs Confucianism.

What about the empty cup being the student; does that mean your potential is greater with less in your cup?

Don’t take a metaphor too literally. I find that when people deconstruct metaphors there quickly get to a point where they’ve missed the point.

You may find the Taoist perspective interesting here: It is the empty space that makes the cup useful; the emptiness and the void space of the cup is the key element's to its usefulness. This isn't to say a empty cup is superior to a full one, but instead, (one take on this is) that not knowing is the key to understanding through learning how something works. It's not the cup being filled, its the filling of the cup that is learning. If a new idea does not merge with pre existing notions, perhaps it is a purer understanding. If the cup is filled with many things then its contents merge into something new, which is a synthesis.

Hi, I have seen the videos on your channel(Daily Stoic). Your video is excellent but video optimization is very poor and no SEO score. Moreover, the logo, banner, and thumbnail are not pretty enough. And there are many problems. Your RUclips channel immediately needs to be SEO-friendly.
