Hey ryan, this video came to me while i’m experiencing the end of a relationship… and it gave me hope, and lifted me up… even if just by an inch… i am glad to be here in this moment, seeing, hearing and experiencing. Thank you ryan
Saved this one to watch...thank you so much. and your book. dude thanks for disseminating and pitching it to all the good people that don't know, cant, or haven't accessed and feel the same. A moral code is what made me realize i had been raised by a stoic, the response to me, and the mistakes and regrets I had, all in line with something I am lucky enough to have read after I could read...but SOMEONE suggested Seneca to you because of who you asked - and you asked them for a reason - and now you're here and you were in a college you left. I am so glad your books are being seen and you are - I'm sorry that I feel like you are in a position everyone can shout not stoic at you when failures the point - and coming back to an even keel. this must be a test even for you rn. and you're making a difference. Your words are pitched to everyones true inner knowledge. Do whats right. to yourself to others . in any and all situations. Thank you. and this video is so impactful. thx.
When I read Meditations I noticed between the lines Marcus Aurelius much rather would be a philosopher than emperor. He wasn't a happy man. But he found it more important to care for his empire and do his duty than to follow his passion for philosophy.
Wise words. Shame he didn't get to live long enough to see he is remembered as a stoic philosopher before he is remembered as an emperor. That may not be an absolute statement but I think it's the trend.
Just ordered your book to my father as fathersday gift. I always knew your channel and your book but only now realized that the owner of this channel is also the author of "the daily stoic" haha.
Read a book by Ronald Kessler (former secret service agent) titled In The President’s Secret Service that describes Jimmy Carter’s real private actions and it may give you a very different view of Jimmy Carter.
If you read a book titled In The President’s Secret Service by former agent Ronald Kessler you can get a bigger picture of Jimmy Carter and see he’s not quite the uber nice guy Ryan portrays him to be.
So in your pitch at 12:38, you talk about the course with the three live sessions. I signed up, and was told there will be no live sessions. Now, what you posted here 4 days ago is, in fact, a repost. What a shame. Why didn't someone cut out the mention of "Three Live Sessions" if you're not going to do them? I asked for my money back but was told "No Refunds." Really? What happened to integrity? To keeping your word? Sorry, but this is just plain old misrepresentation. With a dose of deception. And I want a refund.
Marcus Aurelius and the Roman army slaughtered tens of thousands of the Germanic tribes to conquer them. I don't believe it was exclusive to him I think other Caesars may have had a hand in it.@@NightWLKR1
What is your favorite story from this video? Let us know in the comments!
The part "Keep your word" has made me aware of my responsibilities that keep me on track.
Love from a little Stoic (trying my best)❤
“Enough is Enough” is always poignant. 👍🏼
Remember your obligation👍
Jimmy Carter. Best story by far and great lesson too. Why not the best indeed?
Enough is enough! Always important to remember that

I’m right there with you. Ended a 5 year relationship yesterday but we have to remain stoic and pragmatic. Time heals all wounds
I like how you tap into different time periods and genres to complete your lessons and stories
Thanks for the reminder of how much is enough Ryan. Makes me zoom out and focus on what actually matters. Superb content as always 🖤

@@AinsleyVarvel yes, although he did say very clearly that what you are remembered as, is very unimportant and temporary.
Interesting. I haven't heard that one!
I preordered it! So excited! My birthday is June 10th so it’s a gift to myself and what better gift than the virtues of stoicism!
Happy Early Birthday!!!
Great meditation to start the day=] I love the idea that the obstacle is the way!!
Thanx Ryan.
Amen.
Enough is Enough....woww that great..when someone doesn't know truly what is "enough" he will never find his "enough" 👉
All you need is a thick coat, a knapsack and a staff. This is what the first Stoic was taught by his teacher Krates. A Cynic philosopher.
Good work Holiday
Great job Ryan😊

What's the name of the background song?
You are the best
Yes
What is the name of the song that is playing in the background throughout this video?
why don't you show in animations about the stories that you narrate? i think that will help more to visualize. 🙂🙌🙌

Twice I voted for

I am shocked; but at least I did not vote twice for Trump.
💚
Stocism reminds me of the 12 steps a bit.
7:51 I love your channel and your audience, I'm gonna comment on ALL your videos for years until I reach your level of subscribers.
No, did not leave me speechless. Maybe the title could have been more thoughtful and less... whatever it is now.

Excellent book!
Yeah...one guy's POV is definitive...as opposed to sooo many other's...
I have heard the same about Rosalyn.
@@christopherbroaddrick7198 Heard...lol. A solid quality source, I so sure l
Ryan never uses the words “uber nice” regarding Jimmy Carter. -not sure what your intent with this comment is 🤔
I ordered the entire package but haven't received it yet. I ordered it BEFORE Ryan exposed his politial preferences, which he should not have done.
Would be worried about a surgeons polictal preferences before an operation
People are more complicated than that

Still glossing over the mass murdering crimes of Marcus Aurelius I see😣

Can you please share more ....
What I read he hated christians and killed them

He was an emperor and a man of his times. Don't judge him otherwise.
@dailystoic hmu. I've been here since the beginning bro. Lmk
