    www.squarespace.com/whitelight with code "whitelight" for 10% off your first purchase of a website or domain. So this will be the last racing game video for a while now. Hope you enjoyed them. I learned a lot making them. Next video will be very soon, and after that I'm looking at Mirror's Edge to pass the time till Arkham. Arkham City has panned out to be a gargantuan project, so I'm looking forward to getting it out whenever it may be.

PS5 couldve have a mediocre SSD and it wouldve still been revolutionized how video games load. The real reason models and worlds can load so fast is because it doesnt have to go thru the CPU to the ram, back thru the CPU and back to the GPU. The GPU can rather just pull data straight from the SSD onto its Vram. Sure it requires a decent SSD for it to be at all beneficial, but the SSD itself has very little to do with it.

      I mean the game is just a pretty package. There's not much below the surface, it was just the "oh my god look at those raindrops on the windscreen!" I'm not saying it wasn't enjoyable, but the critics were completely justified.

    • @marcusclarkson2657
      @marcusclarkson2657 9 месяцев назад +11

      No they weren't. The game was not just pretty on the surface either. It was very nuanced in its driving feel with KERS or DRS on the cars that were supposed to have it, there was down force, and as the gentleman said, the bumps in the road and subtleties like this. The point to point racing was spectacular, the Ai was competitive and if you paid attention to the names that came up to race against, they had different racing styles. No matter how slow the car was you were in ATM, the game ALWAYS felt seat of the pants like it should, the faster cars were downright SCARY and LOUD and it never got old and even not being a sim, NO game captures the violence of driving fast cars fast like DC. Naa bro. Maybe you didn't like the game, fair enough, but there are sooo many things DC did right that were never before done so well and STILL have not been done better. Much more than the beautiful, atmospheric, great music and sound to love about DC.

    My father offered this game to me for my birthday, not long after it came out. I was not excited. Then I played it. It was soon the only game I played in my free time. I remember the sheer shock I experienced when they added rain and I drove in it for the first time. Then came the expansions, with new cars, tracks and bikes. I can't tell you the amount of time I spent on Nakasendo or Putre. I joined a club, participated in PVP races (which my friends and I dominated), got world record lap times... This game shaped my mid to late teens. Heck, my profile pic? it's me drifting in a LaFerrari in on Putre in Driveclub. A few weeks ago, my PS4's hard drive died. Lost everything. But the memories are something I will never forget and never lose. I loved this game more than I ever loved any other. Thank you for this video, man.
