  • I didn't have much time, but I squeezed in a beautiful fall backpacking trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in the Superior National Forest. On this hike, I complete the 31 mile Sioux-Hustler Trail alone. Most wouldn't try to squeeze 10 hours of driving and 31 miles of hiking into 2 days, but they probably haven't enjoyed sunset at a BWCA campsite. The trip was a bit rushed, but enjoyable.

Great video that brings back many memories. I used to help clear the Sioux-Hustler Trail with Carl Anderson and the Mn Canoe Association way back when. It's an incredible area.

Where can I get one of those glowing orange hats I see at the 4-minute mark? (just teasing). Great video of a MN trail as always.

I would probably take more time to enjoy the wilderness.

It's really interesting how much the water level dropped in your video compared to when we did it just a couple weeks earlier. Got a lot of rain right before we started. For example the Heritage Creek crossing didn't have any rocks above the water and we took the log over. That sketchy beaver dam by Shell Lake wasn't visible either. Anyway looks like you had awesome conditions with those clouds and and colors at sunset and sunrise!

Do u have to worry about poison ivy at all while on the BWCA trails?
