I love watching this guy just taking a walk, vocalizing his thoughts, that's just pure. Keep doing these solo hikes👍❤️ love them
Me too
he's the best part of this channel!
sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Cristian Spencer instablaster :)
This channel is criminally underrated. How you guys only have 139k subscribers is a mystery. I discovered your videos a couple of weeks ago and can't stop binge watching them. Your production quality is top notch... better than 3/4s of the stuff on TV. You need your own show on Discovery.
I almost feel like I am camping and seeing nature with you guys. Very authentic and made me want to start hiking and seeing the trails in IL and IN since I live in Chicago.
Good job and please keep making videos.
"美好... 不好." Hahaha
I'm loving the natural sounds in this one. Again, thanks for making this- it brightened my day. :)
Yes, the sights and sounds were very welcome. Thank you!
Really love the music in this one! I feel so bad for you, Robby- I hope that you're able to find a long term solution to your ankle issues :(
Robot legs, the ultimate solution.
It’s called widening his stance.
He really wasn’t built for FAME. (Or hiking) the Cub Scouts told him he’d never make it. But thank goodness for not listening to the 6 year old experts!
Long term solution equals real hiking boots. They protect the ankles, especially when carrying heavy shit.
Great music mix--jazz, classical, and contemporary, enjoyed it all. Kudos.
I like to keep a mini roll of duct tape when I go hiking. You can use it as athletic tape, foot blister protection or prevention, also to fix gear etc.… possibilities are endless.
Also, to save space with the tape I like to take from a larger roll and roll it around an old credit card.
Just my two cents. Great video and great solo hike! Adventure Archives is on another level!
Thanks man. Great advice
Roll it around your trekking poles!
love the slow mo shot of butterfly flying across while u were walking towards camera (your viewer from singapore) 👍🏻
Another viewer from Singapore!
You picked a beautiful place to start on the IAT. For years I lived in Eagle/Palmyra and the IAT out there is filled with winding cliffs, meadow, pines, deep gourges, and springs. Pure beauty.
I enjoyed watching your journey. I love Wisconsin. I will be going up in October and doing some hiking and Kettle Moraine. BTW your laugh is cute lol.
Love your commentary 😆 “Heaven opens up and angels sing directly at me!” I feel the same way! 😊👍 ☕️
Revelation 6:12-17
Gotta be real...as I do subscribe to AdventureArchives...I like your shows primarily for Andrews insights on local faunas 🤷
There are alot of channels out there for hiking and alot of them are the same thing over and over.
What I like....is the 3 of you bringing in your different insights....that made it feel special...non-partying friends backpacking in a forest and taking us along and learning something on most episodes.
Single...I am not of fan of any of them. Not BAD...just, not as good as the ones with all 3.
Just being honest why I started watching your channel in the first place
Otherwise..... yeah, production value is 100% pro. Content for the most part is equally professional.
And in the end, I just want to thank the team for putting out so much content over the years. It helps inspire people to get out there and not be afraid to take chances :-)
That hat is great and very becoming! You’re like a young Indiana Jones! I also enjoy your stream of consciousness narration. Thank you for bringing us along on your adventure!
Well I'm so sorry you got injured and had to cut it short. This is absolutely a gorgeous forest, one Of the prettiest ever. Blessings.
Your solo hiking videos are very therapeutic. They have a very meditative, Henry Thoreau-esque feel to them. I enjoy watching them when I'm on the treadmill or trying to fall asleep. Keep up the good work!
Gotta love Voiceover Andrew!
Not too often do I get to see my own home region featured in something of this quality and from the perspective of a non-local visitor. Glad to see others enjoying the areas I grew-up in and still (more or less) call home. It is sad that habitat her in SE WI is so incredibly fragmented, and even large parts of Kettle Moraine is fragmented and narrow with development bearing down on it, but it is still great to have what we have, and the area is pretty unique.
as amazing as the hikes with the entire group are , Robby has some pretty epic solo hikes ...Keep making more videos guys i have nearly seen every single one. Number 1 channel on youtube right now!!!!!
Bless you Robbie! Singlehandedly giving us AA content, despite a hurt ankle. I loved your reflection on holding people to unreasonable standards. And the freeze dried ice cream sandwich was priceless.
While it's all fine and good to watch videos of perfect hiking days, I prefer the ones with challenges. Learning thought processes and outcomes of the decisions is practically invaluable in helping make my own decisions when faced with the unexpected.
You and Kraig Adams inspire me so much to make videos myself and just go and "get lost" into nature. Thanks a lot for that!
Kraig is one of my favs too!
I've been following for almost two years now and I'm obsessed with y'all's campfire cooking, especially when wild mushrooms are Incorporated.I watch y'all to decompress after work, and it just brings everything back down.
Thanks again for the epic videos,
from Lou. KY.
p.s.
I just got my Adventure Archives hoodie and I'm loving how comfy it is!!
Thank you so much!! Glad you like the hoodie, and we definitely need to do more campfire cooking :)
Don't worry about cutting your hikey short. When hiking, as in life, you have to make good decisions. Hiking is not where you start or stop, but rather the space an time in between those two points. Love your vids, I was thinking about you a lot as I was hiking the Timberline a few weeks ago. Thank you for inspiration and knowledge
Loving the soundtrack to this episode. High energy up tempo. Good vibes. Sorry to hear about the ankle injury.
Hello my outdoors friend, thank you for sharing this beautifully filmed, informative and entertaining video. I really enjoyed it. That was a pretty cool area for a hike. All the best to you for your health and safety. 🤗
I take my pizza seriously ;). This was true Chicago style, aka "Tavern Style", crispy thin crust, square cut..from a great neighborhood family run shop. Deep dish is the touristy "Chicago style".
Thanks for taking him to an honest Chicago pizza place!
Very cool to see you hike in my backyard. Love kettle moraine and all your hikes.
I appreciate that you take HUGE bites of food. LOL I imagine with all that walking you're very hungry by the time you eat.
Fast recovery for the next trek. Thank you for the beautiful and relaxing video as always🙏
I really appreciate this and enjoy your outlook and creativity. So glad I found you and Adventure Archives during this Covid “adventure”. Been a source of light during trying times.
It was Interesting seeing your take on a trail I hike at least once a year. I was just on it less than a month ago. In case your interested, that hand pump is the water source for Shelter #1. There's a trail from the pump to the shelter, but it's probably easier to go the way you did. Glad to see your ankle has improved and sorry you could'nt finish your hike. On another note. If you go in the off season, Devils Lake State Park has some nice trail you can hike on too with some nice views. The Ice Age Trail goes through the park too!
Did you see the secret agent following him?
Now that he’s famous, he’ll be watched every day from now on!
That working water pump is really cool! I'm glad you were able to make the most of your trip. I've had to hike out 9 miles on an injured foot and it was brutal.
New sub here, and I'm catching up on your videos and just love this solo journey. When you finally get to Shelter 2 and wrapped your ankle a bit, how many of us in the home audience were yelling at the screen: ELEVATE YOUR FOOT...ELEVATE YOUR FOOT...DUDE, ELEVATE YOU FOOT! xxoo
That background music really got me at 18:23 - Harmoneez love it! More power to your channel.
Robby, I don’t know how I missed a video but, awesome job! Made my day to find this gem.
Excellent! Excellent video.! Thanks for doing it.!.
Sending good vibes and healing energy, Robby! Great video thand for always brightening my day a little more! Happy trails! 🙏💛🌟👍💕☮️Great music🎶happiness👂🎶
Bad ankles, suggestions;
Support - high top hiking shoes ( keens), cling wraps, hiking poles ( Costco $20.00), light weight pack & gear one piece at a time.
When you get a ankle sprain soaking in cold river or lake water to reduce the swelling.
Hope this helps. 🍕🏕🥾
That opening shot! 👌 Good to know you have an ice cream sandwich option when mobile. 😋 This episode was quaradilla free. 👍
I have to get up there. Once again, you’re able to capture the story so well.
Nice! I love watching your solo trips. Really good spots for me to solo myself sometime.
I have done that segment many times, I live in the area and your video really captured the beauty of the area very well done, hope your ankle heals
The Midwest is so underrated when it comes to outdoor opportunities!
People tend to overlook the hills and scenery, and assume it is all plains.
God I love when you leave the forest cover and see the beautiful clouds on the IAT. Such a beautiful trail. Glad to live in Wisconsin
I grew up hiking these trails! Amazing to see AA in my home state, nonetheless in familiar environs. Love it!
Did you know your state could make HIM famous?
He needs to add something to the show, like go to the shops in the area and use the postal service in the area. Like, add something to life in these remote areas.
Like, buy ME something cool and post it to me on the other side of the planet.
He could up date the show to an INTERNET SHOPPING SHOW.
Always love going hiking with you.
Great video as always
Stay happy healthy and fluid my friend
I’m sorry about your ankle but I’m so glad you did this trail. I love this area to hike in. It is so peaceful and relaxing
Bikes and beards is relaxing too! 😎
I hope you are okay now!, Thank you for sharing. The views are amazing!!
Thank you for taking us with you. The mom in me was planning your rescue - would you hitch hike to your car? Go to the bitter end? Use tent pole as a crutch? So glad you had already moved your car closer. You and your friends are so great to watch!
Man, thank you so much for sharing us your stories I really do appreciate all the uploads. ✌️🙏👍
I lived in Indy for a while and my family is in Chicago, so your driving clip warmed my heart. I love passing the wind turbines.
Love the episode- Your thoughts, the visuals and music. So sorry about the ankle and I’m digging the hat!
Thank you for sharing this trip, Robby! This gave me the inspiration I needed to do my first solo backpacking trip a couple days ago. I went to the same place you did and the gold colors of fall there are beautiful. I understand how you can hurt an ankle there too since the trail is so rocky. Hope to see more solo hikes because you do a great job!
Great experience, amazing places to discover and admire! 💕💕💕
This is almost a documentary, very high quality in every aspect. Congratulations!!!!!!
Love your solo hikes. Lol when you are enjoying your food and at the end when you were washing your hands
As someone currently recovering from shoulder surgery and can’t workout after being an active person for 12 years... crying every day about it.... I appreciate your words at 27:33. ❤️
That was the most beautiful video Ive seen in a very long time. You caught the peaceful vibe, the goldenrod and angel lace and the essence so well. The editing and the music were so great and love that Lenard Cohen hat! Spot on. Hope your ankle was tended to. Shine On,Robby.
Keep rockin that hat Robby, looks good.
Great video, as usual. I am from this area, and hiked The Ice Age Trail, Zillmer loop often. Many times, the 6 mile loop with Cub Scouts….we usually hiked early spring or early fall to avoid mosquitoes . In early fall…there is SO much fruit planted along the trail, that you can literally eat your way through it! Even so, you keep Cub Scouts moving with a constant refuel of Snickers. It’s actually a pretty nice trail, and yes, you DO see all the various type of glacial land forms. Thank you so much for visiting my home…I just love all your shows, and hope to see one from the BWCA and Quetico Provincial Park Canada.
Started watching about a year ago. Loved the adventures you take and you have inspired me to start hiking/ camping. I also started my own channel. Keep up the good work.
Still too hot here for hiking, but soon!! Thanks for taking us along.
Hello from Brazil. Thanks for sharing your adventures ❤️
Hiked this trail with dad last summer and we were surprised just how much fun it was
Thank you for including the water pump from Evansville, WI! That’s the town my grandma was from! She’s 90!
Went to Oshkosh last October and had a great time day hiking in Waukau Creek Nature Reserve. Never heard of the Ice Age Trail and if I did I would have planned to spend a day or two there. Thanks again for the great video.
These videos are the new reality tv. I like em way better. Way more realistic. Plus it's nice to say other landscapes. Thanks
Another good solo episode. In your subsequent vlogs, glad to see your ankle seemed to have recovered.
♥ No matter a person's expertise or level of fitness, it's always a good idea to carry sports tape in their first aid kit. My ankles hate me, so I know. Also, you never know when you'll need to tape up a blister or to keep a toe nail from falling off. ☺ Be well! ☺
This one is your best so far.👍
I know you hate random stranger internet advice- but get some KT tape for emergencies! It has saved me so many times, plus they have a format for ankle stability too, so I use it to prevent injury now as well.
Love the 2nd half music! Great to listen to!
I recently found your guys videos and I’m hooked!!
Also seeing a black feather means you are protected 🥰😁
Thanks for awesome videos!! 👍🏼👍🏼
This just made my day
upbeat coffee music is something I didn't know I needed but here we are
"caffienecore"
The BEST gear video I have ever seen !! hehehe
Thank you for another wonderful video!
That song around 19:40 kept having me think that my Google Home alarm was going off! :)
Looking to do that same trip this fall.
That wounded dog you heard was a coyote. I live near the ice age trail , and some nights you can hear like thirty of them all howling at once.
I love watching this dude hike
Awesome video. As always. I really like the hat! :)
Really liking the music selections!
Aww, Lorenzo was adorable.
Love Robbys solo hikes and wow, what a videographer Seems to suffer more than the other guys from his hiking adventurers. He soldiers on tho
Super cool hat. Personally, I find a good rain hat far more comfortable than the hood of my raincoat. Also, when the mosquitoes are bad, a net to go over one’s head is a blessing.
I've been saying that for years , you never know what kind of struggle someone is going through or have gone through . We all have baggage we are carrying .
I love this trail walk. You remind me of me. The things you say and do lol.
Awesome video! Just stumbled across your channel. Live just 30 minutes south of Kettle Moraine North and camped in B3 (shelter 3 just off Long Lake) for 3 nights this past February! Luckily it was high 30s during the day so a pretty mild winter excursion in WI! Great area!
Great video!
Well done!
I’ll be there in October. Can’t wait.
You hiked so close to where I went to college! WSUW. (now UWW)and Kettle Moraine ! Beautiful country ! My home state. Watch out for the mosquitos😱
This trail is amazing man.
Enjoyed your hiking trip and I’ll check out the mason jar coffee grinder next time you will finish your hike at least you got pizza 🍕 with a friend
Very Good Robby! I haven't injured my ankle yet on a hike, but twisted the knee last year on the SHT. Lucky that it didn't bother me very much with over a 100 miles left to finish the trail.
Thank you for sharing. Sorry for the injury that impacted your hike, but you got to sleep in one of the newer shelter. That down hill to the first shelter had to be a killer on your ankle. It is mosquitoes session, as long as you are moving you safe. I have found using Repel Lemon Eucalyptus spray when you stop seems to keep them at bay.
Great section of trail that you choose on the Ice Age Trail. The views along the trail are better in late fall to early spring when all the leaves are down. To bad the tower was closed, the view from the top is amazing. You can see for miles.
If you every come through Chicago again your welcome to stop by Janik's Cafe, we are a breakfast / lunch restaurant. Home Team Pizza has some great pizza too.
loved the icecream sandwich.. last trip I went on I was getting food and saw several on sale for 50% off and had to get several to relive my childhood. I will admit, I got home and ate one on the spot!
Great video. Love the hat!
I love this place
Music was on point this episode! 🎶
The after credits footage is hilarious!!
