RUclips may have a limitless amount of content and new videos uploaded daily.... however time and time again I come back to re-watching so many of these wellcrafted and rewatchable episodes that provide a lot of levity and healing. Thanks AA guys❤. This is my absolute number one channel on RUclips.
For anyone looking to do this trip, schwoons spring is a little past the dry river bed. There are blue blazes (like ranger falls) up a hill. Go a few hundred yards to essentially a cave with the spring. It is probably the most reliable water source in savage gulf. It's pretty neat and worth checking out
I love your love for the plants and flowers. I was excited when you found the wild ginger. I love those brown velvety blooms. Dutchmen breeches are so delicate and perfectly named. Was hoping for you to find a lady slipper and a jack in the pulpit. So excited when you prepared the Lions Mane. I’ve never found one of those but here in WV we scout for Molly Moochers (morels) in the spring. As an oncology nurse I see so many plants that are used in chemotherapy drugs. Y’all make miso soup look really good. I’m gonna have to try that on my next hike. Love your videos, your laughter and love for God’s earth. Keep hiking and sharing your journey🥾🥾🤎
I was about to make the same comment. I suppose if I knew as much as Andrew about edible plants I would try to eat every edible plant i could and then rationalize why it tastes so awful too lol
Robby seemed like he could hardly watch, while Bryan just stared on in disbelief, I was absolutely dying of laughter, had to rewind it a couple times!!!
Andrew the oil free eating world fries things like that lion manes by constant little water squirts that declare the pan. It would've worked out much better
I absolutely love your videos you guys. Anytime I feel a little bit down or want something fun to watch I’ll put on one of your adventures and it cheers me up. Thank you for all the work and time you put into these videos! I feel like I’m on the adventure with you.
The knowledge that each of you share is a valuable insight- your adventures are inspiring me to get out and do some day hikes….. I would like to build up my knowledge and skills to do some overnight hikes- I am an advanced camper however I am a novice hiker
Not sure if you all read all these comments but an update on this place- it’s now the newest state park in TN! The whole of South Cumberland SP was so large and spread out they were having trouble managing it as one so they separated savage gulf (and 733 new acres of land) and made it Savage Gulf State Park!
Thank you for the great mental health statements about hope. As a psych RN, I really appreciate your work. So many people struggle with depression that you may never know how many lives you have touched.
Your channel is so unique in the backpacking community. It's not of the "ultralight" "thru-hiker" variety which is refreshing because most of us aren't thru hikers. I need buddies to hike with. It looks more fun than my solo adventures.
Wow, another great video! I only just found to all and have binge watching. Luckily I caught Robby’s solo trip thru the same area just before this one. You all seem to always make me hungry after watching. I can’t get over how much Andrew knows about plants and mushrooms.😊
Man I'm really loving your videos! Working my way through all of them now! The best way I found to eat lion's mane mushroom is to saute it with butter sprinkle some salt salt and minced garlic then crack some black pepper on it! So good 👏
Ive been fascinated with hiking videos lately. I'd been watching lots of thru hikes of the AT. You guys' approach of slowing down and appreciating everything in nature is SO refreshing. Makes me miss those campiing trips we took in Colorado with friends during my younger days.
Just wanted to say that the scene in the huge tent when the guys are blowing up the mattresses was really funny, a much needed laugh at plain silliness
Giant tent, multiple bridges, breathtaking waterfalls accessed by spiral stairs and the BEST backpacking team can only equal an AdventureArchives journey. ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻😎
My kids got me into backpacking 13 years ago and my philosophy was to hike as fast and far as you can, camp, pack up and do it again the next day. Taking my grandson as well as newbies has slowed me down. Watching your awesome videos has taught me to enjoy the journey. I now notice the little things - flowers, bugs, the way trees grow, mushrooms (but not making soup anytime soon), etc. Thanks for posting these and giving me a different perspective on backpacking. ❤️
Thanks for sharing, I'm not sure how I missed this one. I appreciated the background music early in the video; the song title is worthy of the quality of the trail and scenery.
There is an initiative in the Cumberlands of Tennessee (VA and KY too) to repopulate and grow the original short leaf pine savannah grasslands of the region. Shortleaf and Longleaf pine savannahs are some of the most species rich habits in north America. You guys hiked past 3 different species of pine plus the hemlock. Just an idea. The amount of views this channel gets is incredible and would love to see people educated on how the environments and ecosystem once looked before European settlers walked North America.
The water situation on day 3 feels like deja vu of Robby's West Virginia solo trip. So glad that you don't have to rely on the lion's mane to keep hydrated.
What an awesome trip! Highlights for me was that miso and rice breakfast, made me so hungry. And that lions mane find! Yet another reason for me to want to plan a trip to TN.
The commentary, editing, dialogue, cinematography, inspiration, education and motivational camaraderie made this a masterpiece imo ! I watched half with my eyes closed and I could see and smell better than any audio book I’ve listened! I hope nothing but the best for you guy’s …. Thank you 🙏
So glad you went with the big tent - I swear by them. They're so light and easy to set up now and if you camp in racing, snow etc. you have a place to hang out when you can't be outside. Mine is an 6-person tent with 2 poles (lots of stakes though) - so easy to set up and carry. Love your content.
Just found your channel while surfing what to watch and I found myself and my husband enjoying watching your videos. Andrew is very knowledgeable about plants, trees, flowers, mushrooms edible and not edible. Andrew said, in one of their videos that he is an amateur Botanist. You made us learned a lot about plants in all your hikings. Thank you. Andrew, you are so smart remembering all those plants including the Scientific names. We don't hike but still enjoying watching you 4, Andrew, Robby, Bryan and Thomas. Stay safe guys and God bless.
Savage Gulf/Stone Door are treasures in our middle Tennessee area. I first went there as a youth and go back never often enough. My son’s BSA troop hikes that area regularly. Beginning repelling and rock climbing occur regularly at the bottom of the Stone Door where you started on day 1 and ended on day 4.
Guys I was so excited to see you guys were coming to our local park! Our cabin is about 10-15 minutes from The Stone Door and Greeter Falls trail heads. I wish I'd have known we would have loved to join you guys. Collins West and Savage Falls ate still on that side. I believe you can get to Savage Falls from Hobbs Cabin. Come back one day, there still several different parts of the Parks across our Mountain. Feiry Gizzard, Foster Falls and Denny Cove. Thank you guys for the beautiful video of my home ❤️ Very Proud of it
I just found your videos during a search on the Savage Gulf. I’ve hiked there many times but never down into the middle of the gulf. This video plus Robbie’s 40 mile solo video has shown me what I’ve been missing but what I hope to experience soon. You guys are terrific and do such a great job with these. Thank you!
I didnt read all the comments so someone may have already said this. When you left Sawmill to find water you were headed in the right direction but you gave up too soon. If you keep going across the dry creek bed there is a sign that says Schwoon Springs. It is about 1/2 mile from Sawmill, but it's a flowing and beautiful water fall area that disappears into a cave. It seems like it takes forever to get to it from Sawmill cuz you're tired and don't wanna hike anymore but the area itself is well worth seeing! If you head back to Savage, check it out. Great video. Savage is one of my favorite places ever!
25:40 the music sound reminds me of 80s game soundtracks, I love it. Fantastic experience as usual. A complete show. Time flies when I'm watching the AA's videos, and the post hike meal is a great bonus.
Foam flower grows in vast banks in some places. You don't have to ask if that mass looks foamy! I'm glad you fellas have found my neck of the woods. You have fun, but show a rare appreciation for the landscape and its residents.
Yes lads, great to see yous out again. I love spring. New life, growth, a time for change, beauty. I've just been on a 6 day hiking and wildcamping trip. Can't wait to get back out..respect.
Guys, I've been watching your adventures for years, now, and I must comment on the superb growth of your productions. Your photography is spectacular, the editing and musical creation and selection, Andrew's informative sharing of wildflowers and greenery is wonderful. I particularly enjoy the camaraderie that you share with each other and with us. I don't get out much anymore and love the length and scope of your adventures. I feel like I'm a part of your friendship and sharing. Your videos make a difference and I care about each of you. Just wanted to tell you that. I love what you do and look forward to more... Daryle J. Harris, Gainesville, GA
I know this was posted a while back & I watched it then. Watched again & just have to say thank you, I enjoyed it greatly… mostly the music. I really enjoyed the humming in the back ground thanks again
I love this video💚 Your excitement over sharing a tent😆 Robby being so tickled he couldn't air up his mat. Brian was so cute waking up looking like a baby peapod from one of those old Anne Gedde's calendars and you all eating on those gigantic cereals 😆 and always love Andrew's excitement and love for plants. This whole hike is is just BEAUTIFUL 😍 thank you so much for sharing.
I've watched your stuff for years but never commented and as we know the algo rythyms like comments etc. anyway thanks for inspiring us to get out and commune with our fantastic planet...peace and love
Danke Danke Danke Danke...... We love watching y'all hike right here in TN. We try to do some of the ones you guys have. We love your videos. Thank you all for all you do to entertain and educate us!
Thank you so much for fixing the percussion part of the intro music. That imprecise hi-hat in the earlier version of the intro always drives me insane.
Great episode! I feel like a proud Pappa watching yall discover Savage Gulf!! I've been exploring this area since the late 80's. It's where I learned to repell, rock climb, and hike. To get past the wobble rocks you have to walk like you're drunk. There's still much more amazing things to see just in the South Cumberland State Park system let alone the rest of middle TN. Maybe plan a waterfall trip to Fall Creek Falls and Virgin Falls. Robbie knows Virgin Falls!. 👌 great video once again!
I always enjoy your videos! Particularly when you are filming trails like this one .I have hiked in Savage Gulf many times and will never grow tired of visiting this wonderful area.
So love your videos! You travel through some amazing places and are very knowledgeable about nature and plants. You guys are so funny! Thank you for sharing. Keep up your amazing hikes and camping trips!! Well done!! 😊
The plane was a T-45 Goshawk. sent a screenshot of it to my friend for an ID. She informed me "it can get close to supersonic, but not actually TO supersonic." It is used to train pilots on how to fly jets. She said from the sound of it, it has an old style turbofan engine, and to the untrained ear - which i think is most people - calling it a supersonic jet or fighter jet "isn't entirely wrong, it's just not as right as it could be." It _is_ a military plane. She said: cool spot!
I'be been rewatching earlier episodes and would love to see all of you do the Ice Age Trail hike that you, Robby, were unable to finish due to your ankle injury.
I always look forward to your videos, and this was one of the best. There were a couple of laugh-out-loud moments that left me smiling, like Robby's and Bryan's reaction to the mushroom soup. Thanks for taking us along with you on your adventures. Can't wait for the next one.
Savage gulf (south Cumberland state Park) is truly a hidden gem. Much of the area was purchased through private fundraising efforts. I'm no expert but probably spent a dozen nights here. Happy to share what Ive learned if anyone has any questions.
I love your videos. You go places many of us can only dream of going. I appreciate and admire the extensive knowledge of of the flora and fauna. So refreshing to watch a clean cut, adventure video. The fact that you all are truly enjoying yourselves is very evident. Love it!
great job as always lads! I have watched all your videos but I usually don't comment, but I felt compelled to say I found your closing comments very profound and moving. Thanks again 👍
I watched Waterwalker just yesterday ! Bill Mason was and still is a canoeing legend here in Canada 🇨🇦 ! Time for you guys to head back north here to Ontario !
For the second video in a row, yall have camped at the exact same site I camped. The campsite you guys stopped at in sawmill was the one myself and my boy scout troop camped in. In fact, Bryan boiled water around the same spot I made my instant ramen in 2015. Nostalgia is hitting
You guys are just the best. Always something special about your videos and they are wonderful to watch. I know they are not always relaxing as you do it but they sure give one a relaxing and peaceful feel watching. Thanks guys!

Robby's comment about Andrew rationalizing the flavour of his soup was unexpectedly hilarious and made me spit my water out.
I was about to make the same comment. I suppose if I knew as much as Andrew about edible plants I would try to eat every edible plant i could and then rationalize why it tastes so awful too lol

Andrew the oil free eating world fries things like that lion manes by constant little water squirts that declare the pan. It would've worked out much better
Everything I re-watch this gets me haha
Thank you so much. As a 76 year old woman who loves to hike and plants: this brings much joy!
Love the big smiles on your face…nothing as peaceful as fly fishing!
Andrew’s knowledge and love for flowers and the like is so refreshing. I love hearing him speak about each and every one :)
Thank you for sharing your adventures with us, what a joy it must be to experience such beauty with your family! So Wholesome🥰🥰🥰
I absolutely love your videos you guys. Anytime I feel a little bit down or want something fun to watch I’ll put on one of your adventures and it cheers me up. Thank you for all the work and time you put into these videos! I feel like I’m on the adventure with you.
Same here. If I feel down I’ll watch their videos. I dunno why. Lol
The knowledge that each of you share is a valuable insight- your adventures are inspiring me to get out and do some day hikes….. I would like to build up my knowledge and skills to do some overnight hikes- I am an advanced camper however I am a novice hiker
If everybody could get as excited as Robby does about eating food and finding water ..the world would be a better place.....pure joy..

Fantastic! As usual 😉. As mentioned by many others, this is better than anything on network or streaming service.. A botanical paradise
Better than Naked and Afraid? 🤣
@@whatoh3407 Since I have never watched that show, I would say without hesitation yes. 😂
100% yes. This is better than any TV out there.
Your channel is so unique in the backpacking community. It's not of the "ultralight" "thru-hiker" variety which is refreshing because most of us aren't thru hikers. I need buddies to hike with. It looks more fun than my solo adventures.
Adventure Archives, the most comfy videos on all of RUclips.
Wow, another great video! I only just found to all and have binge watching. Luckily I caught Robby’s solo trip thru the same area just before this one. You all seem to always make me hungry after watching. I can’t get over how much Andrew knows about plants and mushrooms.😊
Brian’s smile when he said “I wasn’t going to say it but Robby did” was so great lol.
Great adventure filled with waterfalls, wildflowers, suspension bridges, and glowing campfires. Only thing missing was Thomas.
I can’t believe this content is free.
Man I'm really loving your videos! Working my way through all of them now!
The best way I found to eat lion's mane mushroom is to saute it with butter sprinkle some salt salt and minced garlic then crack some black pepper on it! So good 👏
You guys get better and better at filming every video
Dope cameras definitely help level up.
I love how you guys just hammer food together. You can see how much you guys are appreciating it after a long day of hiking

The slow motion waterfall is mesmerizing.
Thanks for sharing, I'm not sure how I missed this one. I appreciated the background music early in the video; the song title is worthy of the quality of the trail and scenery.
My man knows his flowers! Great video, guys.

The best. Music, food, hiking, cinematography, editing, plants, life And no advertising ✌️🤍🕊️
Your friendship is as inspiring as the incredible surroundings. Thanks for the inspiration for hiking and for life.
Great escape to watch your video. Going through painful relationship struggles that will end badly. Hope to see brighter days some time.
The water situation on day 3 feels like deja vu of Robby's West Virginia solo trip. So glad that you don't have to rely on the lion's mane to keep hydrated.

Either Andrew was trolling Robby, or he finally found something that tasted knee-slapping good.
The way you guys narrate your adventures they could be audio only podcasts. A mini audiobook if you will. Awesome job as always.
Great video enjoy each and everyone of all your adventures, I'm living through them...
25:40 the music sound reminds me of 80s game soundtracks, I love it.

Yo when Andrew pulled out that white hairy thing from the whole in the tree I nearly fainted ! Thank you !
Great video! In our neck of the woods!!! Savage Gulf is awesome!!! Love you guys!!
I loved the sound of rain so much😍

You guys are why I started!
Another outstanding film. I sure hope you guys make many more.
Well done falls
I love watching you guys! I feel like i'm there with you!
Thank you so much for fixing the percussion part of the intro music. That imprecise hi-hat in the earlier version of the intro always drives me insane.
Woweeee that beautiful trails.. all three of you are awesome such joy to watch waterfalls loved the beautiful sounds. Great job guys ❤😊😊😊
When the trees look like chartreuse lace is my favorite time of the year also.
The skits at the end of this one were THE BEST EVER. And yes, I loved the episode too. This place is on my list for backpacking.
Great filming as usual! Really enjoy watching your hikes.
You guys are so lucky to have one another, your videos are awesome. Thank you!
I always enjoy your videos! Particularly when you are filming trails like this one .I have hiked in Savage Gulf many times and will never grow tired of visiting this wonderful area.
Very nice video especially the snowy part. I always look forward to one of your videos. Thanks guys.
I just love your videos so happy so fun so beautiful, Thank you so much for doing this. Glorious
P.O.V. from inside a log?
AWESOMENESS!
So love your videos! You travel through some amazing places and are very knowledgeable about nature and plants. You guys are so funny! Thank you for sharing. Keep up your amazing hikes and camping trips!! Well done!! 😊
I enjoyed that, missed Thomas, really appreciate the anctedotes that Andrew drops at end of the videos also !
The writing is very good. Just what I needed to hear.

She said: cool spot!
You guys did a great job. I wouldn't want to be on any other planet.
I am so glad that I found you videos!
I'be been rewatching earlier episodes and would love to see all of you do the Ice Age Trail hike that you, Robby, were unable to finish due to your ankle injury.
Fire's are sooo easy to make!!! 🤗
I always look forward to your videos, and this was one of the best. There were a couple of laugh-out-loud moments that left me smiling, like Robby's and Bryan's reaction to the mushroom soup. Thanks for taking us along with you on your adventures. Can't wait for the next one.
I love this channel so much
Being in a giant tent after only being in solo tent always feel so spacious!
Savage gulf (south Cumberland state Park) is truly a hidden gem. Much of the area was purchased through private fundraising efforts. I'm no expert but probably spent a dozen nights here. Happy to share what Ive learned if anyone has any questions.
Thank you for a great information video. It's good to see three good young men.
Yet another awesome adventure!! Thanks AA :) also, love the credit scenes

Love the narration, the music everything in this video awesome. Thank you guys.
You guys are just the best. Always something special about your videos and they are wonderful to watch. I know they are not always relaxing as you do it but they sure give one a relaxing and peaceful feel watching. Thanks guys!
