Yeah, this is the best guide in general I've seen let alone Bowser Jr. guide. Props to you and the BowJr community. It was really thorough and enjoyable to watch. I learned several new tricks to add to my bag. Thanks again for taking the time to create this. Have a happy Fall! 😊🍂🍃
Something to add to down throw, to save it from being completely useless, it actually can work decently as a tech chase with side b at higher percents, say ~60-90%. If you side b right after down throw, and they roll in, you can get a free side b to up b kill, if they miss the tech, you can spin out side b and kill, and if they roll away you can drop the up b bomb on them and kill. Pretty fun to use in the scenario, other than that I don't ever use down throw.
I want to add something about Side B that I don't think was mentioned in the video. On the ground, Kart Dash has two speeds that you can choose by either tilting or smashing the stick. If you go the slower speed you can speed it up during the dash, but you can't slow down the faster speed. It's an interesting mixup option, but what's really important here is that they have different knockbacks. So if your opponent is out of range for the Up B follow-up, use the slower dash (i.e. in a tech situation) and it won't hit them as far, increading the window for the up B to connect.
You mean at higher percentages where SideB sends them too high to connect the hammer? Wouldn't a raw SideB spin-out just kill them at those percentages anyway?
The other content is sick of course but let me just say I think these guides are the gems of the channel. I feel like with this one and the Ganondorf one, getting into the mentality of the character makes it feel so much more impactful Saying Ganon puts fear into an opponent makes people feel hype, talking about Bowser Jr. tilting his opponent and controlling both chaos and control makes it sound like playing a character is an art style, very cool touches
This is a fantastic guide! This is the only really good bowser jr. guide on youtube, but that's okay because this guide is absolutely PERFECT!. It's on par with izaw's guides, and in some ways it actually includes more details and information than izaw's guides! Great job dude, keep it up.
You got the guide right, but there is still some things I would like to talk about. You can side b and jump out of it even while in the air, it basically grants you a triple jump. Canonball’s falling hitbox also doesn’t disappear when hitting a shield, which means if spaced properly a falling canonball can break a full shield. You can hit twice with side b: if you flick the stick backward while running on someone, you can get both the running hit and the barrel hit which mean you can get a shield break much sooner and easier and go trough armored moves like plant’s down b and do around 28%. Canonball into side b is really hard to time and setup but nonetheless amazing shield break setup. You need to shoot the canonball and run behind it with the kart, if timed properly, you’ll hit the side b during the shield stun of the canonball and you can break a full shield with the tech I mentioned earlier. You really underestimated down throw, it’s the most damaging throw and the only one who can put your opponent in a tech chase situation, and is the best throw to use in the corner if forward throw doesn’t kill due to the angle. If a mechakoopa is in your hand, you can use roll’s invincibility to attack while rolling if it’s gonna explode soon. This is especially useful at ledge. Side b is really great in tech chase situations, especially to cover roll away. Forward air has a really great vertical hitbox which means it can be used a lot of times to finish combos even if the only option seems to be a uair and it can anti air surprisingly high. Bair is too slow to ledge trump, use nair instead. Fsmash is also really great for it’s speed, especially the recovery of the move. Usually whiffing a fsmash grants you a free punish if the opponent tries to punish you: dash backward and do an another fsmash. Works all the time against mid and lower level players. Footstool up b is a really great and usable oos that kills really early. Upsmash is his fastest oos. While holding down during down b to not grab the ledge and do a hammer slam can be great, there is an another option that's really strong: hold down to not grab ledge, airdodge while drifting in, and buffer hammer slam. if timed properly the slam will occur right before hitting the ground. This is a garentueed punish against hard 2 frame attempts with for exemple Lucas's or Samus's down smashes and can be a free way back to center stage if the opponent doesn't predict it and doesn't have the cabability to punish spaced hammer slam on shield.
This has nothing to do with the info but it’s a good idea to segment your comment into paragraphs for reading comprehension , it also lets you find errors like you accidentally including info already in the video
In addition to the genuinely helpfulness of the guide, there were multiple instances where i laughed due to comedic lines or timing. All in all, a very solid video to sit through and i will come back to watch it some more even if i've already learned how to play Jr. for the jokes alone.
Fantastic guide! Helped me out a lot when I was starting out, and now watching it later with more experience, it’s a good reminder of options and is overall very entertaining and informative. 2 thumbs up!
I mean u can pick up jr for fun but I always laugh how whenever I fight a jr online they are always just picking him up I’ve dumped so many hours into this character I’ll laugh how much u gotta learn with this character to truly excell all the buffs we got over the course of ultimates gonna go wayyyy over your head
Mechakoopa has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it grabs people when laying on the floor, other times it just walks right through them.. There also doesn't seem to be any consistency with it exploding in your hands, grabbing people, or doing nothing when they hit you while holding it. Mechakoopa explosion doesn't stale and actually has a tiny bit of knockback scaling. You can eventually kill people by repeatedly dropping it on people trying to recovoer. It's surprisingly easy against a lot of characters. It's just like Shotput.. :P If you get hit once you just have to hope the Bowser Jr./Brawler players misses you.
I love him because his bread and butter combos are so easy. Im not good at precise combos but i can do some pretty great combos and strings with him. Great beginner charachter imo
@@YOSSARIAN313 exactly he’s very good for beginners but also his skill ceiling is so high. i’ve been playing him for years and i’ve had so much fun because i’ve always had room to grow
Great video, but a couple things to note: Bowser Jr. can move faster with clown kart dash by holding a direction on stick (with the exception of backwards direction which causes spinout) also dealing a bit more damage which is increased even more the longer Bowser Jr. travels, jump-cancelling at the start of the move allows faster movement and causes a special sound. When using abandon ship, a player can regain the car for further use if hit by a weak attack through button mashing so gimping doesn't always beat out good Bowser Jr. players. With Clown Cannon, you can have 2 cannon balls in use at the same time, there's less lag if used in the air, and the ending lag can be cancelled with ledge grabs.
Something I like to use down throw for is that your invincible while drilling. The good players will wait till it ends and your helpless for a moment, but time it right and it can save you.
I've been an Iggy main for a while now, and i can definitely say the Nair is excellent for catching projectiles and coincidentally, his own mechakoopa if the enemy happens to pick it up, and if you don't want to bother catching it you can just Fair, or Ftilt and Dtilt to tank the hit and also hit the enemy if they rush in thinking they've got you.
I enjoy getting the "perfect stock" from "GO!" against gimpable recoveries...: Grounded Side B Jump Cancel Down Air Upon Hit Forward Air (assuming they pop-out in front of you) Multi Jab After Fair Landing Nair Edgeguard Off-Stage Recover Up Taunt
Imo Jr has the best f smash in the game. Its big, fast, versatile and strong. Imagine a character like palu or snake with jr’s fsmash. They would be broken.
I mean man I just busted up playing jr for like 8 hours two days in a row I’ll be pushing to get results with his lil juggalo azz in tourney when the time rolls back around people play him he’s been my main since 3DS but no I agree characters not seen at all cuz tier lists and like his whole move set actually tongue punches you grandmas fart box but that’s a good thing honestly cuz no one knows how to counter him especially after all the buffs
Using cannon ball from a jump can be used somehow close in neutral as the enemy doesnt know if the shot will be airborne or not and jumping is dangerous.
the koopalings kind of epitomize me as a player. Heavily momentum based, when I'm winning or goin on some crazy comeback they look like actually great characters and can run away with the game with style. But when I'm losing, the whole game feels hopeless and I can't seem to get back in the game.
@@personamusicintensifies6341 I mean I switched to mii gunner but I still have him a a secondary bc I still enjoy him even tough their bad matchups are similar so there's not really a reason to have him as a secondary but ye I like both

I feel like Kart Dash is worse after the "buffs". Kart Spin is crazy but the dash itself does too much knockback to combo beyond like 40% when your at full speed, and your basically always going full speed because of jump cancel Kart Dash.. It makes it a lot harder to land the big combos. It also made the window for Kart Dash to Up B hammer a lot lower, but it's like too low now so you need to be close to the ledge to actually KO with it.
Lol also remember next to mewtwo and villager u got one of the stickest jabs in the game n can just hold it on the corner of the stage for upwards of 25-90+ damage sometimes even with good di www.homestuck.com/story/6806
