- I'm back out bush and working beside a large quartz reef mine, lucky for me the old timers didn't get it all and we are back on the reef gold

Good bit of worked countryside, that, Pete, with the train whistle blowing. Thanks for sharing, the old-timers never had an electric dowsing wand to swipe over the rocks and dirt, hey. Hope you're feeling better after the Wu SARS2, fatigue can be so sapping of the spirits, turns straining strong limbs to rubbery jelly. Yer body gone reggae, half speed at best! We're some situations our own harshest critic.
Cracking open a dirt Kinder Surprise or a Ferrero Rocher rock, best maybe is a Terry's Chocolate Orange giant dirty quartz that you must lug around, and have the patience to wait until you get home so you can then say "hello, dolly!" Also, that our Victorian gold is roughly what the "Welcome Stranger" percentage purity was, 98.63%, dunno if you've had past nuggets assayed with an XRF machine. Cheers mate! Gabi of Narre Warren.
It's been well worked by the old timers and lucky for me, they through out some of the good stuff. I'm pretty much over it now, slowly got better as the week went by. I've never got my gold tested, as long as it's shiney, I'm happy. Cheers mate and thanks for watching, appreciate it.

Thanks Ned, that species wasn't showing much at all, so under the hammer it goes. I did have a species that had 11 grams in it, I smacked that one aswell, you'd cry if you saw it, it was really nice. Pretty good now mate, although at times I think it's still lingering. Cheers mate.

Covid, you lucky bastard! I got the flu injection and got quite sick and have had a wheezing hacking cough for the last month, cheers Pete!
Yeah, it wasn't great but over it now. I don't get the flu shot, don't see any point when it's a rare thing to actually catch and the jab actually makes you crook, but that's just me. I hope you feel better soon mate. Cheers Pete 👍

Great video Pete. Good to be out in the fresh air having a swing. I hope it helped with your recovery. This round of the "flu" has hit some people in my area really hard, and the effects have been long lasting. Did you put the remainder of the crushed quartz through your hammer mill and pan the powdered quartz?
Do you think that the bit's that you found around the tree were definitely from old timers waste pile or part of the original quartz float as you mentioned that you have found other gold there in the past along the same hill side.

This was my 2nd dose, both pretty much the same, it has taken about 2 weeks to get over it. I haven't crushed it yet, it just went into a jar with other specie quartz. It's hard to say if it was thrown out by the old timers, it was right on the edge, although it was in more natural ground, so it could have been float. The other gold I found there was lower down, so it was nice to find some up there. Cheers mate

Rippa day mate, the hangover flue sux!! Gotta luv the species....is it possible to xray the species to see how big they are within the rocks? (thats if there is some sort of cheap xray machine, but that might be a future thing??), or maybe next time do a specific weight, then brake open to see if the calculations actually work....just a thought, as more crushing may produce the smaller (potential), shiny .
Thanks Paul, I'm not sure about your xray, but I have done specific gravity tests on some species over the years, it's some what accurate, I done a specie that come up at 20 grams, when crushed it had 16 gram in total with a 10 gram solid piece inside, I think it's a science, but exactly acurate.
