Love this build. Suggestion: Adding a level of Order Domain cleric allows you to give your heavy hitters an extra attack when you use your buff spells on them. A second level in Order Domain cleric can give you a charm effect that will help when you are throwing out those free bonus action command spells, making it impossible for the enemy to refuse your command.
That would be perfect addition to this build. Starting off with a single level of Cleric would give some defensive boosts as well. It would put the character behind in power by a level but the immense utility you'd get upfront may be worth the slight dip in power progression.
@@DungeoneersPack I was going to recommend this as well. Plus it allows your character to wear heavy armor and pick up the fantastic support spells Guidance and Bless.
I was honestly thinking something similar. So, I've recently play tested a glamour bard 5/order domain cleric 1. It was extremely effective, but it really burns through spell slots. That's mainly because Silvery Barbs was allowed, and it triggers Voice of Authority. After play testing the build, I would recommend putting two levels into warlock for those two first level short rest spell slots. My version doesn't get magical secrets until 13th level though, and spell progression is slowed, however, it's as strong as your allies. If you have a full rogue in the party, when you use silvery barbs to make an enemy reroll, then target the rogue to give them advantage, that triggers Voice of authority to allow the rogue to attack, as a reaction, at advantage so automatic sneak attack.
I actually did an NPC for my campaign that was basically this build. He was an old British general that liked bossing around people. Most of the spells and bardic inspiration was he giving orders with such intensity and authority that nobody dared opposing him. Cure wounds was he picking up fallen soldiers and telling them to stop lazing around as he slapped their faces (cure wounds is a "touch" spell). Overall 10/10 character equally suited as a friendly NPC or villain.
This video and the comment section inspired me to make a commander char: glamour bard and a dip in order domain cleric. I am sooo looking forward to playing this next session
I have played this for about 4 years now, multiclass into fighter, so. decent STR needed. But going Battle Master is OP. You can spend also 1 lvl into warlock just to make mode damage from the hexbald.
Alright man, I know this post is 2 years old so you'll likely not see this, but I got a minor alteration to this build that will make it so much better. 1 single level of order domain cleric. Now you can use voice of authority and Bard's have access to silvery barbs, which synergizes with voice of authority. I helped make this build already and use it as a battlefield commander, but if you want to find it on youtube look up the conductor and find D&D daily's video. I love this combination and I'm having so much fun playing it.
Scatter is 6th level, you can't get it at 10th level bard. But, imagine wall of force, use mantle of inspiration to move your allies as a bonus action, then wall of force to shut down a group of enemies or to protect the party while they heal.
@@DungeoneersPack i keep forgeting that you guys are younger than me. I am 40 yo. I was Talkin' about An "acient" french comics. The story was about a group of french barbarian that the Romans could not conquer because they have a magical brew that make them really powerfull. Content is great - thanks for the sharing the concept. (Maybe you could slow down your speaking a little next time? Gets a little hard to follow the amount of info you’re bombarding us with.)
Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed the vid! It's something I've been actively working on as I'm trying to find a nice middle ground of being quick but clear.

More builds please! Loving your content
There definitely will be a lot more in this next 3 months. New books means new player options!
Battlemaster Fighter - Lore Bard makes a great commander build, although Glamour Bard works alongside Battlemaster as well.
I love the strict class builds because DMs don't always allow multiclassing. Especially if they are a new dm.

Another great video.
By the way, just for the fun, how would you build Asterix?😂
I'm not familiar with Asterix. Where is that from?
