EPIC STORYTELLING AND EDITING! Female weightlifters never seize to amaze me. That utter strength especially in the smaller weight classes is just impressive

Gotta love a clutch player like Hou. True excellence when it matters the most. Here and the Olympics.

What a little tiger Hou is. No expression at all after succeeding with WR snatch. No celebrating until the job was done with the 120 jerk. For me this class indicates 2 things; countries should be able to double up competitors in a class where they have such absolute elite athletes (though China might not have done that if they could because they wanted 6 golds) and IMO maybe a weighted average formula with the 2 or 3 best results in the quad used to determine who goes. Jiang was superb the last 2 1/2 years but faltered in the end.

3 athletes per country are allowed for each track event but only 1 for weightlifting in the Olympics. Rigged.

I was thinking she's calm under pressure.

The stories you guys pull to highlight certain aspects of the behind the scenes drama is so compelling. Awesome job! Can't wait for what's next!

These videos are so excellent - you're bringing this relatively obscure sport into the spotlight and I'm so here for it 🙌

@WeightlfingHouse - please make a belt episode! Hou Zhihui has the most fascinating belt of any competitor. I would love to buy one.

It was in reference to how she qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but in hindsight it wasn't very clear!

That is why I love this sport, because it leads the human being to overcome a mental barrier that seems impossible, taking your body and mind to the limit, to a zone where few reach, and that's amazing to me, pure and raw human power.

    Great story.
But why are the results from the Olympics Games 2024 not mentioned at all? That would round off the whole video, since Hou won the gold.
And why don't you cover the Olympics in any of your videos? Is there a ban from the IOC or something to show footage?

Who is the woman's greatest 49kg lifter of all time: Hou Zhihui, Jiang Huihua, or Ri Song-yum? I am so looking forward to worlds.

Got the same feeling for Hou vs Jiang as Rahmat vs Rizki. Very happy for that Hou Zhihui got to defend her olympic title, but at the same time very sad for Jiang Huihua that she never got to compete at the Olympics. She was the more consistent lifter in the last quad, and even got to beat the north korean lifter, so I really think she deserved to go

Infko. If the IWF ever gets on the good side of the IOC maybe thins can get back to where they were - the same # of classes at Olympics as WC and more than 1 lifter in a weight class if team chooses. It was that way right up to 2016. Don’t hold your breath though.
