WIXY ruled Cleveland radio in the late-60/early 70's. These airchecks were the station's last gasps. WMMS and M105 had scarfed up most of their original audience by this time.
Oh yes! I listened to WIXY from age 9-11, on Cleveland's eastside---great memories! Then, we moved to the westside, and I had trouble getting it to come in, so, WMMS was my go to station, along with G98, and M105.
I remember mid 70’s WGCL ( G98 ) and WZZP (106.5) FM alternatives to AM WIXY. WMMS (the buzzard- ate dead things) was more for the pot head freaky people. CB
Right before Autumn 1979... that miserable rainy cold Monday: new music format ( again) + Ted Alexander, Willie& Phillio ( DJ’s) to replace Merle Pollis ( now news director) and Bruce Drennan ( now sports director). That was truly a sad day. I listened to their all talk format May1978 til that “ dreaded” day Autumn 1979, even Bill Randle hated the format switch, he played EJ’s “ Bitch Is Back” then commented afterwards that “ music went to Hell in 1974!” CB

This was months, perhaps even weeks or days away from the end. Station became WMGC, "Magic Radio." Format changed to oldies/soft rock. Any airchecks that used the full jingle (used at the top of the hour in early 1976) available anywhere?
DJ s sould like the guys from CKLW Windsor
Is the song at 4:52 the intro to "Sooner or Later" by the Grass Roots? It seems like a different version.
The song is "It's Over" by Boz Scaggs and, yes, it sounds very much like the opening to "Sooner Or Later."
