, well that's the bomb. The light bulb went on when you showed how many songs we can play with so few chords. Now all I need is a time machine so I can take this back to the younger me. Keep up the good work Marty, thank you.

Thanks Marty! For my whole life,
I've wanted to play guitar. I just couldn't get it. I had plenty of friends with guitars, trying to show me... it just wouldn't happen. I became a karaoke KJ so I could still be involved with music. Finally, thanks to marketplace on facebook, i was able to afford a used guitar. I was so happy. Well, it sat there for three weeks. I got off my butt, got on youtube, and was watching other teachers. It was the same as before. I'd get confused, and think what was I thinking anyway? Then i found your basic beginner cords. I can play them!!
You are the only reason I am able to play anything at all on my guitar. Just wanted to let you know you ROCK!! I love you, I can't thank you enough. I tell all my friends about you too. You are a REAL TEACHER

Was just running a few refreshers on some old tunes I found that I still have the words written out for. I used to play them years ago and thought I'd run them by again...Here Comes the Sun, Something, Knockin'.... Seems, I often forget a turn, or note, or something and it makes all the difference when I realize, wtf ...after I see you play it, and feel a "duh that's right" overwhelm my synapsis....... Thanks Marty! I like it when you run the song down in the beginning before explaining it all out.... That's usually enough but I know that when you're teaching, you'll give us the slow low down JIC.... When the brain farts cloud the mind, you will give it a shot of fresh air to clear the haze...
Sometimes, my brain space-farts whether or not to play the Am instead of the C or vice versa on Knockin" .... figured you'd put it right in my mind without the distractions of a band on other videos...and was correct.... I reckon millions of subscribers can't be totally wrong....

Just a tip for those who haven't noticed : The strumming pattern 'D DUD', the last down should be hit when you've changed your chord, and that becomes the first D for the new chord. For example, when playing the G-chord, when you hit 'D DU', you change it to the D-chord and then hit the last 'D' of your strumming pattern which is now the first 'Down' of the strumming pattern 'D DUD' for the D-chord. This holds for all chord transition.
    P.s : I noticed it after I've played. I'm just a beginner though.

Your tip helped me a lot. I think what you’re saying is a slightly more advanced way to play is D D DU. It sounds really good but is a slightly more advanced strum b/c you have to change quickly.

hey man ! thank you so much for making this channel! i started with you back in 2008 or 2009, because at 30 years old i had given up on learning guitar and felt restricted because i am an animated front man... after finding your lessons, i learned the basics and was playing on stage within two weeks...i took a long hiatus and now i'm back only to discover you're still here and helping out soooo many ppl! I've tried learning songs that you haven't gotten to by watching other instructors, but i gotta say, HANDS DOWN, you make it easiest and it sticks...thank you again for all you do!!!!
