If any of you other nerds are interested, I was trying to figure out what was happening and was analyzing this too much. Here's what i got from it: 0:23 Triggering the sample in one shot mode on pad 2 bank D, mark button not lit 0:35 Triggering a different sample on a different pad? or maybe a video edit with j rocc footage as a transition clip to skip near the end of this session. Madlib continues triggering pad 2 bank D sample and vibing out 0:50 Pressing the reverse button 0:52 Triggering the sample while reversed 0:58 Triggering that other sample again, maybe pad 1 bank D. Happens while pad 2 is still playing. 1:00 I think he stops playback here pressing the cancel button. Continues triggering pad 2. Note when it plays out this time it sounds like that other chop had been added to this pad at some point with resampling. Also notice now that the mark button is now lit. All that makes me think the clip was shortened since i don't think we ever see him hit resample or edit pad 2 like that. 1:03 Turning on that now highly sought after vinyl sim. He's probably pressing remain + vinyl sim after turning it on so that the effect applies to all pads. Turns comp knob all the way up, as well as noise knob. 1:13 Turning down the volume knob Does it seem accurate? Curious what you all think

Yet every song is artistic whether you enjoy it or not. He literally has so many songs, that you can't help but compare him to his OTHER albums. He is his own competition. He is literally SO good, that he has to ignore people's comments in order to stay true to himself. Like people will find one of his albums SO good that you literally have to compare his future work to his past. Yet you can hear a hundred of his songs and someone else would assume it's from a hundred different artists. This guy is so talented it literally gives me chills how someone can be THAT artistic and remain true to himself..while most people...don't even know who he is. Absolute LEGEND. just got my 303 in from eBay last week, this thing is an amazing sampler. i know a lot of people are wondering about the 303 from this video, i picked it up for its low-fi and FX...its a beast and i've only just begun messing around with it.
BTW...there has been days I've felt depressed about something, and I had to think of 1:13 - end because it's just hilarious sounding, and I love Madlib's sense of humor. It makes me wonder with all those samples he uses on Quasimoto albums, HOW MUCH he laughed his ass off making them.
The sampler is a Sp-303 and the song he's sampling is "OCabecao" originaly written by the Golden Boys but that a different version by some other group. I don't know the name of that group but all I know is on Polydor Records (Same label as James Brown) That's all I found out so far.. [Still searching for that record but I got the Golden Boys version of it]
The sample is "O Cabeção - Orquestra Som Bateau" when you look it up, there is a couple videos the video thats like 2:30, the sample begins around 1:28 Youre welcome haha
