UPDATE: Zoom now works in Photo mode (up to 2x) with firmware version V01.02.0000, verified on iOS only.
This zoom feature is able for Android phones?

I have had my mini 2 about a month I really like the zoom feature I did not know the gimbal dial and the fin worked it thanks so much fly safe
Thanks! My mini2 is on the way, and I was really hoping this was possible. It was easy to achieve with my anafi, but I've been wanting to get my hands on a dji drone. I've seen some pretty great things done with this little guy, and I'm ready now to give it a shot.

I've done a dolly zoom using a camcorder, but although I've had the Mini 2 for long enough that I should have know about how to zoom in and out. Thanks for the heads up.

Wish there was zoom with still photos. For agriculture use out here in a rural area it would be so useful to see new calves, check gates, water levels without having to get below tree lines.
Recent update now allows for 2x photo zoom (verified on iOS only).
Bought mine for the same reason, the cows don’t seem to mind being close or above them. The 2x makes it nice wish it could be a little more. Use it to check new heifers to see where they are instead of driving back to them sure is nice.

Great video. Do you know if you can slow down the zoom rate when using the wheel? I always zoom too quickly and struggle with getting the perfect Dolly zoom shot. Do I just need to practice more or can I slow the zoom rate down. Thanks.
How far you turn the wheel affects the zoom rate.

The zoom degrades the quality quite a lot if you want to deliver in 4k. Cropping in post gives almost the same, except you also have the full quality video to work with. Sensor is 4000 pix wide so you could only zoom in 1.04 times without loosing resolution.

why does it only zoom 2x on 2.7 and 4k? Aren't those higher resolutions than 1080, shouldn't that allow for greater magnification?

Are you in video mode? It only works for video, not photo. Else, reinstall the app. Hope that helps!

@@briank4404 unfortunately I had to sent for repairs. It’s was many communications between me and support team. They didn’t know what’s wrong. I tried with 4 phones and same problem. Firmware showing N/A..
You can also zoom 3x in 2.7k
Hello Dragon 7, I have the marvic min2. I used to have zoom function in my app but for some reason its gone. I have tried to reinstall the app DJI Fly but still the same. with the function button i can only move my camera up and down no zoom. any advise pls? Thanks
Is it the same device? May not work for Android.

Black controller would be for the Mavic Mini and not the Mini 2, so you unfortunately no zoom feature.

According to the DJI website 2.7k has 3x capability. Why is it not in your choices?

The 1x just means it’s 1:1, so no zoom.

Yes you can! 😃. Just be sure to use the function button and wheel to smoothly control the zoom.

It doesn’t work! I don’t know why , but no zoom on my mini 2 . can anyone help me? I press the Fn button, I hear a sound and nothing else happens
Are you in video mode? Also try reinstalling the app.
@@D7dronetech yes, during the flight and shooting it is impossible to use the zoom. I have tried uninstalling App and installing again, does not help
Sorry, I don’t know what else to recommend except find a way to possibly reinstall the firmware into the drone.
