that time i got a MISTAKE UPGRADE to Singapore Airlines BUSINESS CLASS:
    • MISTAKE UPGRADE: Scoot...
Staying at a SINGAPORE CAPSULE HOTEL! (cheap accomodation in singapore)
    • Staying In A SINGAPORE...
i went to a Ya Kun restaurant when i was in Singapore and tired for the first time, a traditional breakfast in Singapore. What i had was Kaya toast with soft boiled eggs and a good ol cup of (kopi) coffee. The toast had a thin slab of butter and a thick spread of kaya jam, it was served with a couple very soft boiled eggs , (which you're supposed to add white pepper and soy sauce to taste) and then you just dunk the kaya toast into the warm runny eggs.
Did i like it? Watch and find out ;)
If you're interested in how this originated - In the past many Hainanese chinese worked on british ships as cooks. When they settled in Singapore & Malaysaia, they adapted the food they served abroad these ships and introduced it into the communities they’d settled in., and replaced western jams with local coconut jams.
kaya toast, ya kun kaya toast, singapore breakfast, traditional singapore breakfast, singapore breakfast food, what to eat in singapore,

Thank you for sharing! I am glad you enjoyed your Singaporean breakfast. I would try the kaya toast, but I have a phobia of runny eggs. When I was in Singapore over five years ago, I had breakfast of freshly made roti dipped in a thin curry with potatoes at a small hole-in-the-wall next to my hotel where I saw from my window a constant stream of taxi drivers stop in to eat.

There is this place that serves butter in your coffee, I know it sounds kinda gross but you just got to try it. I love it, it apparently was like a staple in the 70s Singapore to have this style of coffee and there is only very few coffee shops left in Singapore that serves it in this style. Hope you are able to try it next time! Cheers~

The coffee in SG is different from the ones you get from Starbucks, etc .... local coffee is traditionally roasted with sugar and margarine, so it has a most fragrant and robust taste .... local coffee doesn't use fresh milk, but like u rightly pointed out, condensed milk and/or evaporated milk and sugar
