    So this is an one-person-operation, I can see that's a lot of work to do to make all this happened. You set up the camera on the tripod, have it rolling, walk passed it to make believe like if you are entering the building, walk back there to retreat the camera and then do it again when you get to the other side. I am admiring you on that. Thumbs up!!!

    Honestly, most Singaporeans would find that Bak Chor Mee and Chicken rice overrated.
    If you’re doing a food vlog in Singapore, you should definitely check out the Old Airport Road Hawker Center for its Lor Mee @ Xin Mei Xiang , Kway Chap@ Blanco court food centre ( its the name ) , Roasted Chicken Rice @ Roast paradise , and the Hokkien Mee @ Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Mee

      Janice Fung yes, Old Airport Road is one of the most famous Hawker Centres in Singapore, following what I’ve said, it’s where most locals would recommend tourists to eat at.
      If you’re going to the Hawker Centre, you should eat like the locals, eg, You need to put garlic, Chili and vinegar in your Lor Mee /
      You need to squeeze some lime , and add some Chili to your Hokkien mee.

      I guess it's just me perhaps? I had the original where the chef holds the kitchen before it received its star and I tried the air conditioned franchise. I'm an OG sort of person. The one Janice went to was given a so-so nod by most long term regulars of Hawker Chan in the hawker centre. Well, to each their own preference. I was being overly nitpicking. Cheers.

    Nice to see you’re enjoying yourself. To clarify: the fried fish in your noodles is fried salted fish. It replaces the usual fried pork lard as the crunch + salt element that most other places use. The Hawker Chan’s you went to wasn’t the original, though... that’s actually located in the market across the street. It would’ve actually been a little bit cheaper than what you paid, but then again, I reckon you needed the air-conditioning...

    • @JaniceFung
      @JaniceFung  4 года назад

      Ahhh gotcha thanks for clarifying Steward.
      Is there much of a taste difference between the original and the one I went to?

    • @stewardang4939
      @stewardang4939 4 года назад

      As far as taste difference goes, I don’t think there is. However, I have only eaten at the original stall once, on a rare day when the queue wasn’t 2 hrs long, before he got his Michelin star, so it’s hard for me to compare. In theory, the recipe is exactly the same, there should be no difference. You’re paying extra for rental, air-conditioning & extra staff, basically...

    As a Singaporean, I would like to say that Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle is honestly overrated. There are better stalls out there that have lesser crowd and taste better. The only reason why people queue for Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle is because it is awarded the Michelin star.

    • @NihazVIDZ
      @NihazVIDZ 4 года назад +1

      Singapore has a strict halal policy, it's one of the stringest in Asia. But if it's halal, they have to put up a halal sign board authority by the 'Singapore majlis ulama' inside the premises. If it's not halal, they won't keep it. It's that simple. Usually vendors keep them as singapore is a multi ethnic society.
