My husband and I are Canadians and have had the absolute pleasure and privilege of living in Singapore for the past 15 years. It is a beautiful city with a mix of modern and traditional, offering an exceptional quality of life. Yes, it can be expensive, but a lot depends on one's lifestyle choices. I love that Singapore is a clean, safe, and vibrant city and that everything is efficient and convenient. The city/state runs like a well-oiled machine! The thing that I appreciate the most about Singapore is its strict rule of law. Yes, I am in favour of all the rules! These rules are why Singapore is one of the safest cities in the world and continues to attract foreign talent, investment and capital. The strict rule of law has created a cohesive society where there is a lot of trust, be it in the government /politicians, institutions and people. Trust is the foundation of any successful nation, and in this day and age, it is sadly lacking in other countries. While things are declining in many parts of the world, I see Singapore continuing to thrive and enjoy economic, political and social stability. Majulah Singapura (Onward Singapore)!
I lived in SG from 2011-2012, but recently came back to visit for a week. I loved it even more now, and hope to visit or even move back again! Thanks for making this helpful guide ❤

hi @DashingHeights we were there in Singapore last December for 5 days, our trip made it easy by just watching and following your vlogs, were to eat nice foods like hawker centers, tourist places like those nearby Marina Bay sands attractions, how to use the transportations like MRT. We did not feel tourist at all and the whole trip made it easy for us. We find Singapore indeed a beautiful big garden City/Country, very friendly and hospitable Singaporeans. We will definitely comeback. Singapore leaves a special place in our heart. Thank you for your wonderful vlogs it helps us a lot...

make sure you get the Singapore tourist pass which allows you unlimited public transport travel for about $36 SGD for 72 hrs and you get $10 back when you return the card at the end of your use . you csn get it at the airport station
@@paulsz6194 personally i dont recommend the tourist pass. They got rid of the $ deposit but didnt change the price. Moreover, you are likely to spend less on transport.

I am Singaporean and love how you address all the lovely places travellers can visit while in SG. These are places that we Singaporean enjoy visiting too, including lounging around at Changi airport, reading and bringing our children to our many public libraries found in accessible malls in our neighbourhood, walking/cycling along the East Coast beach, taking walks using park connectors developed by NEA, we have public swimming pools and sport centres found in every neighbourhood, we enjoy spending time at Sentosa beaches but packed our own lunches and drinks if we are on a budget. I will have a 8 hours layover in Singapore in August. Your video is the best video I've watched about Singapore so far!❤ I am making a plan how to spend 8 hours there efficiently. I plan to take MRT to Raffles Place station and visiting Merlion and then China Town. Do you think it is enough time to visit both these areas? Because I need finish all these areas within 2 hours to turn airport early. Do you have any suggestion for me? Thank you so much for the video 🙏🏻😍
Thank you for your kind words! I think it's sufficient to have a meaningful visit. the Merlion is a quick visit and there are plenty of transport options from Merlion to Chinatown. When going to Merlion from Raffles Place MRT, the quickest way is to cross the overhead bridge-mall called the OUE link. So you can check the MRT local map and look out for the exit nearest to the OUE link. Chinatown is a great option because you can just walk around and explore. Definitely check out the Maxwell food center mentioned in the video to try out the local food.
Me and my family planning to visit Singapore in Jan 2025 but with a tight budget. Can you suggest some cheap food spots? TIA and love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
hello we are planning to visit to Singapore for only 1 day because of our tight budget, what important is we want to see the top destination in your country. I always watched your videos for tips on what to do, thank you for sharing your videos to youtube.
I have another video answering exactly that! ruclips.net/video/LDh_eiwHEY8/видео.html&lc=Ugyf-2bGnNZWKDeUhrx4AaABAg&ab_channel=DashingHeights For handicap friendly, you'll have to stick to mid-range hotels and above as those are the ones with wider lobbies and lifts that can support wheelchairs.
Of course! feel free to use it. You will have to create an account on KLOOK with Singapore region, then you can use "DASHINGHEIGHTSKLOOK" for %10 discount on your first booking capped at $50 which is pretty good deal :)
Putting myself in the shoe of a first time tourist to SG, I can safely start at 10AM, and be busy sightseeing up till 10PM. Theres also a YaKun branch in Maxwell, so you can choose to start there in the morning. Due to the timed-shows, the GBTB & Spectra section has to be done at night.
the MBS light show (Spectra) is everyday. About the esplanade lights im not so sure. I found some brochures online but i could not find an "everyday" event
Hi! Just wanted to know if it's a good idea to visit SG during christmas and new year since it rains too much. Is it still worth visiting at that time?
Heya, it’s not the best weather for full exploration but doable. The best way is to keep things flexible and carry and umbrella wherever. Make it so that you can always choose dry/wet days. For example if dry, merlion park + marina bay. If rain visit GBTB domes since it’s sheltered. Most hawker centers also remain open despite the weather, so rainy day can be food hunting day ^^ Museums are also a good choice for wet weather :)
that'll be fun! Jan is our slightly cooler month. BUT beware of the Lunar New Year period, many places might be closed. Mosque and temple need to dress modestly, minimally long pants and top that covers the shoulders. They will have some pants/sarong at the entrance for free borrowing :)
Hi, hope you’re going well I found this video extremely useful and informative as it’s hard to find someone giving complete info about a place that is new to some people, this really helped as I’m going to Singapore soon. I would be beyond grateful if you would answer my questions, so I heard that the best way for transportation in sg is the public buses and the mrt but just am white confused about what passes should be brought from where and how many does every person in the family needs their own card and does one type of card work for all public transport. Please help 💕
hi there, im happy this helped you! the short answer: personally i don't recommend getting any passes, the simplest most economical way to pay for public transport is to use your existing credit card (visa/master && contactless enabled) OR get the ez-link cash-card the long answer: there is a "SG Tourist Pass" , but it's only worth buying if you are planning to benefit from the discounts in select attractions. Otherwise, it's not worth the cost.
During CNY period esp first few days many shops close down for the festivities. In past year, those FnB that stays open charges a CNY-surcharge. I recommend coming after 3rd day of CNY when things start to get back to normal. Check out the annual chinatown lantern decors while youre here :)

Hello just want to ask , Is faber part a good choice to stay at? We’ll visit s.e.a and universal with toddler ❤ BTW we love your videos
If your focus is on visiting Sentosa it's a good choice :)
thank you for your support ^^
@ thank you ❤️
@@kayelenbien6648 welcome!
I'm going to Singapore very soon. Thank you for such a detailed and informative video. Were you out and about all day through the night?
Happy to help! Hahah yea all day, but finished about 10pm
1 day itinerary of Singapore city highlights settled! Thanks for helping to save time on planning and searching for hot spots.☺️
Glad to help ;)
Me and my family planning to visit Singapore in Jan 2025 but with a tight budget. Can you suggest some cheap food spots?
TIA and love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩

hello we are planning to visit to Singapore for only 1 day because of our tight budget, what important is we want to see the top destination in your country. I always watched your videos for tips on what to do, thank you for sharing your videos to youtube.
This itinerary should be suitable for you :) I'm happy to be help!! Have a fruitful visit ^^
We are planning our first visit to Singapore the second week in February. Is it normally raining a lot i February? ☺
Feb is alot drier than Jan :)
@@dashingheights thanks….so it will normally be sunny too 😎?
@ yes, but best be rain-ready anyway because in the tropics we still get downpours once in a while :)
Where to stay closer to this attractions? Are they handicapped friendly?
I have another video answering exactly that! ruclips.net/video/LDh_eiwHEY8/видео.html&lc=Ugyf-2bGnNZWKDeUhrx4AaABAg&ab_channel=DashingHeights
For handicap friendly, you'll have to stick to mid-range hotels and above as those are the ones with wider lobbies and lifts that can support wheelchairs.
Can i borrow your klook discount? Thanks
Of course! feel free to use it. You will have to create an account on KLOOK with Singapore region, then you can use "DASHINGHEIGHTSKLOOK" for %10 discount on your first booking capped at $50 which is pretty good deal :)
Thank you for the video. How many days should I plan for visiting Singapore? Just to see the top places? Is 5 days enough?
yep 5 days is actually good enough for the top places :)
If you wanna squeeze more in a shorter time, 3 full days is even possible
Very informative video! I'm just curious what time did you start and how many hours did this tour last?
Putting myself in the shoe of a first time tourist to SG, I can safely start at 10AM, and be busy sightseeing up till 10PM.
Theres also a YaKun branch in Maxwell, so you can choose to start there in the morning.
Due to the timed-shows, the GBTB & Spectra section has to be done at night.
is the light show on the esplanade everyday?
the MBS light show (Spectra) is everyday. About the esplanade lights im not so sure. I found some brochures online but i could not find an "everyday" event
Singapore is a fine country
hahahah "FINE" and FINEE
Most hawker centers also remain open despite the weather, so rainy day can be food hunting day ^^
Museums are also a good choice for wet weather :)
My husband and I will be visiting at the end of January. What is the dress code you mention for the mosque and the tample?
that'll be fun! Jan is our slightly cooler month. BUT beware of the Lunar New Year period, many places might be closed.
Mosque and temple need to dress modestly, minimally long pants and top that covers the shoulders. They will have some pants/sarong at the entrance for free borrowing :)
Thank you for your response. We will be there from January 27th. To February 1st. When is the Lunar holidays?
Hi, hope you’re going well I found this video extremely useful and informative as it’s hard to find someone giving complete info about a place that is new to some people, this really helped as I’m going to Singapore soon. I would be beyond grateful if you would answer my questions, so I heard that the best way for transportation in sg is the public buses and the mrt but just am white confused about what passes should be brought from where and how many does every person in the family needs their own card and does one type of card work for all public transport. Please help 💕
hi there, im happy this helped you!
the short answer:
personally i don't recommend getting any passes, the simplest most economical way to pay for public transport is to use your existing credit card (visa/master && contactless enabled)
OR
get the ez-link cash-card
the long answer:
there is a "SG Tourist Pass" , but it's only worth buying if you are planning to benefit from the discounts in select attractions. Otherwise, it's not worth the cost.
@@dashingheights thank you so much for your help!
Ur so cute pleasing personality ,smiling face❤bravoh god bless u❤
aw thank you for your kind words!
Any tips for going to Singapore during CNY?
During CNY period esp first few days many shops close down for the festivities. In past year, those FnB that stays open charges a CNY-surcharge. I recommend coming after 3rd day of CNY when things start to get back to normal. Check out the annual chinatown lantern decors while youre here :)
@@dashingheights Do they have CNY even fireworks over the Marina Bay? Thank you!
Thank you for the detailed Singapore Itinerary tips & tricks. Going there on September. Hope to meet you as well.
Welcome! I'm happy to help :) come say hi if you see me filming on the street! I usually wear the same shirt heheh
Finally travelling to Singapore on August 25th this year. Wanted to travel there in 2019 but yeah, Covid cancelled my plans :(
yay! have fun and have a fruitful visit :)
Does Hawker Centres have vegetarian option?
Ive seen vegetarian option before, but it’s not guaranteed
