Pro tips 1) Take two flights of escalators next to Hublot (MBS Shoppes) to go up to link bridge to GBTB 2) Free 360 sky views at CapitaSpring 3) Board and alight Sentosa monorail for free at Resorts World Station 4) Use Visa card to tap in on buses / mrt trains 5) Rent a bike to cycle around Marina Bay area

Hello my good sir. Ive now watched several of your tips and vids for our upcomping SG trip l, super helpful!!😊.. i have a question though, what if I only have 1 visa card, can I use that same card to tap in multiple times for my children in MRT or bus? I cannot find the video but I watched you say 1 card per person I think. What about children who dont have card? Can I simply double/triple tap for me and my 2 kids? 😅

We recently came back from a first time visit to Singapore. We had 6 days before we got on a cruise. We did many of the things you suggested. We love to travel for 3 week at a time and you need to avoid the expensive tourist traps to make the travel budget last. We loves your museums (National Museum, Art Gallery and Asian Civilization). We also explored the free areas around the Marina Bay Resort and enjoyed the evening night show. Also we botanical gardens were great, except we ended up getting rained-out. It was the wet season... so that was a risk. Each afternoon we'd head towards a Hawker center and spent a few hours exploring and eventually have great food at a super reasonable price. We used public transport or walked. The public transport works great. There is no need for a hop-on hop-off bus at 3x the cost per day. Hotels are not cheap, but the city has amazing affordable public transport and amazing cheap eats. Splurge here or there for something special, but avoid most of the expensive traps and you can have an affordable vacation there. We loved it. I don't know when I'll be able to come back, but I'd love to visit again.

I feel quite a lot of simplifications here. Technically I'm able to visit Universal Studios in any place in the world, but living in Europe Singapore might be most on the way to do that. I could actually use similar argument while traveling to Osaka or Orlando. I try to collect information about the history, culture, view, challenges, ongoing conflicts and try to assemble all the bricks while visiting museums. However, in the end of the day travels have to give me fun and I hope I'll have it visiting National Museum, Asian Civilisations Museum, as well as Universal Studios for the first time in my life. See you Singapore in three weeks!

Hi. Thank you for this video. I am planning a family trip to Singapore next year and my biggest challenge has been choosing a hotel. Could you do a video on this? I am not sure which one between serviced apartments and hotel will give me more money value

Heyy, I absolutely love your content, and I am planning to visit singapore in mid February. It's rather my first international trip and I am planning it on my own. Your content helped me lot to make wise decisions and have a very personalised trip. Can you help me with the timings of esplanade roof terrace? I tried searching online but there aren't any but considering most of the attractions in singapore close down at 10 pm, just wanted to check.

I'm glad to be of help to you :)
SG is super friendly for first timers you'll do great here.
It's likely to close 9pm onwards because the entrance goes through the mall.

City state simply too small for real skydiving activities.

Anything in central & south of Singapore are tourist traps lol. So many gems if you go a bit north, west, and around the east coast area

    • @dashingheights
      @dashingheights  7 дней назад

Indeed! It's too easy to cash in on short term tourists who likes everything to be in 1 spot

Any tourist who tries those walks in the Singapore heat and humidity will head to the nearest MRT station and abandon the walk... I've done them when I worked in Singapore, but they are not for the faint of heart... Surprised you didnt mention top floor of the Jewel... 3rd class amusements which are all pay to play, and they aren't cheap... The rest of Jewel are chain luxury stores/restaurants which you can find elsewhere... Only thing about Jewel is the indoor waterfall... The walk from Vevocity to Sentosa is hellish (although there are moving walkways in short segments)... The tram is tiny and overcapacity... aka long lines, but nice you can use your MRT card to get on... The garden domes are very nice airconditioned afternoon site... Trying to walk the rest of the Gardens by the Bay is real tough in the heat... thankfully, there is a (pay) tram you can take to the domes and back... Good luck...

righttt the min $20 per entry play areas in JEWEL hahahah
The Sentosa walk is actually quite sheltered :) but indeed someone new to the tropics will be too warmly welcomed by the heat and humidity.

Remember to bring along Umbrella, and there are many city underground routes from Mall to Mall. Avoid Bukit Timah Stretch. Evening walk is the best, 24 - 28 DegC.

yea last week we had non-stop rain, this week also forecasted to be rainy. Next week may be better, but cant hurt to be prepared. carry a small umbrella when you're planning to go outdoors and you'll be fine ^^

Oh I'm so disappointed that New Bahru wasn't open when i visited last year! I took the bus and travelled all the way to Cat Socrates in the Peranakan district to find Singaporean gifts 😂
I love that you give tourists walkable options, but sometimes you just want to escape the sweat that comes with walking outdoors 😂🥵
And I agree about not buying a tourist pass for transport! We were in SG for 10 nights, I took public transport almost everywhere (your system is so amazing compared to NZ, I couldn't get enough), and only spent SG25.56 total.

thats one of the most fun district to walk around in :)
Ahhh yea the sun could make walks very inhospitable!
Yess! that's a great budget for transport

damn was thinking of doing the hop on hop off bus tour as it seems to take us too all the main areas worth a visit.. but now your saying its not worth the money.. I guess we could use their map system but use public transport instead :)

The biggest tourist scam in Singapore is the zoo . You pay 3 tickets just to see all the animals zoo , river safari and night safari .

The Marina Bay area is a very walkable area... IF u are decked out in exercise outfit... Tourists would melt in our heat and drown in their own sweat from all that walking...

You can do that at this beach club bar that offers a few rental options, it's called OLA BEACH CLUB: g.co/kgs/rFsMpz2
They even have a quite unique "jet blading" experience hahah. if you're into high speed water sports it might interest you :)
