I worked in yakun before as a part timer, couldn't tahan and left in a 2 months.
I don't think the memory part is impressive, you will pick it up very fast.
What I find it challenging is cracking soft boil eggs and cooking them while managing the cash register. Usually in FnB the cashier is just the cashier, no other responsibilities.
Also, huge respect to auntie when she does the brewer. Can you imagine terik the kopi/teh every few minutes, it's really strains your arm.
The worst thing is really the customers. Idk if people ever toast bread in their life before because it takes few minutes and sometimes the cashier can take your order in a matter of seconds.
It's easy to find how much yakun pays. If people notice, mainly malaysians and our auntie/uncle doing this job. Hardly any singaporean teenager will consider this part time for the pay and work.

Hopefully the company is willing to share their good earning or profits with their staff as their job required their fast response, good memory and efficiency and effectiveness. Sometimes the success of a business is their people on the Frontline, not the boss sitting behind close door. Frontline staffs needed more respect and recognition for their endurance, patience and effort because it is true fact and reality they are not well paid.

It keeps them engaged since their children already left the home and have their own family already. Staying at home to do nothing actually increases the rate of depression.
